yes i have used it to control mid air and flick the ball - you can also use r3 if the ball is mid air to flick over the defender. Really good when it comes off - just dont know about the ground control it gives.

I should go in to more detail on how to set these up.

First using the 'advanced setting' make sure the AI isn't allowed to change the attack defence levels or the formations, I also choose the team line up based on form, but this is optional if you like to do that manually before every game.

Remove all four advanced tactics settings, making them all 'None' then go to 'Simple Settings' and make any changes you need to your line up

I would advise saving these too, so that you can quickly load them for any team you're playing with.

This is very rigid, and may not be everyone's taste, but it does maintain your formation across the pitch and does definitely lessen the nerfed AI throughball nasty tactic.

Hope this helps some of you guys :)

I've been playing fluid formations since it was introduced,and can't really remember how it was before.
I'll give it a go and see how it works out

I have noticed a big difference using simple settings. In 6 games only conceded one goal via through ball and that was my fault for pushing up chasing the game - its far more balanced. Currently 3 in my ML as villa but just got beat off forest 3-1. Pushing for premier league
 
hey guys, long time lurker here! ;)
...just kiddin'... :D

we will be having our anual christmas party with my local football club/team this saturday. the last couple of weeks a was creating "my team" on ps4 using the ingame editor. i created 2 field player kits and 1 goalie kit (mine) wich resemble the real kits!
i created about 20 player... my fellow football mates, the team logo, coach picture, some call names if possible... everything!!!
cant wait to play with them that night. 2vs2, full manual, -1, 2x6min. will be the setup for this event (told em before so no moaning).
and i cant either wait to see them enjoy theirselves in a football video game. its all new to them as they all play the other game... of they do play console football. :D
i might take some photos or videos from this event and let you be part of it (IF i dont fall to hard for all the free beer that night! :D )!

When I see that type of videos/gifs with animations I have never ever seen happening in my game.
Look at that cross, how lifelike. And that powerful header too!.
I don't know. I must be playing this game all wrong or something.

I feel exactly the same way, some clips look fantastic - which is why when people talk about the gameplay mods on PC, I feel my bank account shivering in fear...

That's a great clip.

I see a lot of these kind of situation. It's online experiance as well. Great game :D
 
I think Full manual is deffo the way to go, post fix, a lot of fun to play but man, the number of times in ML where I have hounded a team for 60 minutes, finally managed a goal and then they equalize two minutes later and it ends 1-1 with total 2 shots on goal from them and 18 from me, it kills a tiny part of my soul each time

yep! i have those and enjoy them too. i cant moan, post patch, about variety in animations! only gripe, when playing ML, is the "scripting moments"! otherwise its a lot of random stuff and it looks good.
playing mainly exibition matches these days (when i find time between hour-long editing session). some regular league matches with Flamengo too, every other day.
 
The big problem in ML is the TS.

I´ve noticed that on Pro, TS determines what games I´m going to loose. I just had a rival match, my TS is 45, and I swear I did everything I could to at least get a draw. But the opponent, just because it´s a rival, playing on my turf, plays 90 minutes attacking and at full speed, perfect passing. My tactics don´t have any impact as well... I´ve played the match 5 times... 5!!!! I hate to restart matches and I promised myself I wouldn´t, but when I see something that I think I shouldn´t see...

Not helping also is the fact that my players become totally useless on these matches, even playing on manual some passes go way off, reaction times are extremely unfair, not to mention the CPU picking the cursor on the wrong player at the worst time possible. There are moments of the match were I can see all this happening on a single attack by CPU so yeah, my reaction is to turn off the game and restart it again, hopping to finally get a fair challenge even if I loose.

I know that when my TS goes up to 70´s it all starts to click, but damn I hate these "impossible" matches meanwhile, they simply don´t make sense and are not realistic at all. At best, they´re just frustrating as f@€k.
 
Apart from the issues with master league, PA1 still being too assisted, player stats not standing out enough etc the biggest gripe for me is the shooting and gk's animations. It still feels way too limited and lifeless to me. Scoring and feeling like you have beaten a top keeper is what this game lacks -feels too unrewarding atm.

Awesome clip. Ive seen these great headers also.. ever since the new patch actually, since I use full manual, and as you guys are aware, it was broken pre-patch. Im also now seeing those awesome header-hard-into-the-ground type headers :) Look amazing when you pull em off, which I think has more to do with situational factors than actually meaning it.

Anyways, all the differences people see in this game are obviously due to the countless number of ways you can actually play it, but probably more so to do with the vast amount of customisations available in today's football games: speed settings, camera settings (you need dynamic with limited zoom to regularly see those headers as posted in previous post), difficulty settings, control schemes etc.

For me, as purely an exhibition player vs superstar (sometimes Legend to give me that hard ass pes5 feeling), ps4, default speed, full manual controls... a huge difference was made last week, when I simply changed my 15min games to 20 mins. Totally slows everything down, and by that I mean with the AI attack. They become more patient and measured.. none of this constant back and forward stuff. A massive game changer for me (apart from the new patch).. the 20mins per game has just revamped this game yet again :)

The next ML I start, I will SIM the first games - once TS hits 80, I will take control.

GK did not move - given the criticism of the AI that is a bit worrying.

Yeah I was talking about headers, me scoring them, and being able to whip in crosses like this and scoring. But now that you mention it, ive also seen the AI doing a lot o more air crossing, ultimately leading to many more header goals against me.

Just played a moment ago, and im telling you 20mins (from playing 15 previously) has made a big difference in the way AI plays. The games are much slower paced.

Also, as well as the 20mins, ive also now switched to using 'simple tactics', eg. wide offensive or central offensive (whatever it is called), I then go back to normal tactic/formation settings, and simply add marking , ie. my wingbacks marking their wide attacking players, and my DM marking a central attacking mid. Things just feel better .. cannot put my finger on it, but seems my players hold their original positions better, without all wanting to rush up out of position and leaving holes when countered.
 
I don't think it looks like he expected the ball to pass the goal. He just didn't make an effort and dive for it. Could've saved it. I'd bench him.

What about keeper? He had no chance to save it and it was a reason why he didn't dive. Looks absolutely natural. I know you expect super acrobatic save but...not in Pes 2019.

Cpu has always 99 as Ts and good arrow form against you.

That's the real issue imho
