I forgot which one it was, but after one patch after release, it felt like something I felt in the demo and in the full game has been gone.
The physicality, weight, physics...something felt being toned down.
Now after the latest patch, the game feels better again...so random...ball is bouncing off players bodies...feels more free and you have that anything-can-happen-feeling back.
I enjoy my ML a lot at the moment!
I don´t know if the following fact is just coincidence, but the matches against harder teams like Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea have been hard and I lost a few of them and had draws.
At least they felt different than matches against low teams.
Earlier I had it the way that matches against bigger teams have been easier than matches against low teams, who had been unstoppable.
I hope it stays that way.
I have made a few games on the PS4 and enjoyed the matches very much.
Came back to my ML on PC (EvoSwitcher, modded zoomed out broadcast cam, inca´s gameplay patch (i don´t know if it´s necessary now with the latest patch), gfx mod, a little lower game speed, ful manual).
I´m playing with Stoke and made it to the premier league now.
PC version with the above settings and mods and post patch: I clearly can say, best footie game I ever played!
Sure, it´s not perfect and yes, there are so many things left to be worked on...but fuck it, this game rocks!
It shows how big potencial they have it and not use it. Its killing me how this game can looks and plays but its not enough because for KONAMI’s mistakes.
You are so right about this! Absolutely agreeing here!
That's what I was saying in the Contrast thread yesterday.
At the risk of coming off as a hater (which I'm not. I've loved, bought, played and modded PES since forever) I get this strong feeling that a lot of people (not everyone, of course) want it to be GREAT because they can't like the other game, so they overreact to the patch, constantly.
I'm 100% sure that in a week, or two, or in a month, they'll start spitting out the truth, the one they don't want to admit now (not to us, but to themselves). We'll start seeing a lot more posts starting with: "I like BUT..."
Until that shy statement becomes "X is broken" or "If only they fixed this on PES 2020, it will be the best game".
With all due to respect, couldn´t believe reading this, since I noticed you as respectable user with reasonable postings and constructive criticism. if that´s your opinion, so be it.
Since you already had replies on this, I´ll leave it like that.
It just looks like people have to be sorry to finally enjoy the game...
So after the “great” patch
Still no injuries that affect ML significantly
Very few penalties won
No need to rotate the squad in ML due to accumulated fatigue or suspensions (for me or CPU)
Fouls are still too few and most of them are identical (late lunge,Brushed shoulders or an aerial clash)
Def lines are back to being too deep, Retreating and acres of space to run with the ball. Usually this issue is fixed after a couple of updates but it seems that it came back
AI is very robotic and the individuality is non existent
Champions league games occur in the daytime
BUT...
So many BLATANT issues have been addressed by Konami and the game is in an ok shape as we speak judging by their track record. It seems that they’re a very limited team in quantity and quality and this is the most they can deliver with this engine.
The community will help out and we will try to enjoy what we have.
Injuries are fine. They keep happening to me and forcing me to act on the squad.
When I don´t sub tired players I get the warning to do so, otherwise they might get injured.
So I can say, I get forced to be active on the team more than ever.
Never had any penalty though...fouls are okay, could be a bit more maybe, but then I also have matches where AI plays a bit agressive. Already witnessed two send offs in one season by CPU.
About CL and EL in daytime:
I didn´t have any of those yet in my ML since I just made it to the premier league now.
But I read it quite often, that those matches happen in daytime since the latest patch, which is a big immersion killer.
I hope they gonna fix it very soon.
i repeat myself again...
post patch, this game is a joy to play!! its so good weighted, the pace (at -1), fuma controls, the physicality...
that randomness the PES series always was known for, is back! yep, i said it!

this "everything can happen anytime" feeling is back. for me at least.
when im playing this game right now, and leaving my cowboy game aside, then this is telling something. i've been playing for years now... ah f' it, you all know and i don't have to explain myself.
its just pure fun with PES these days.
i like it. and i don't have any prob when you don't like it!
and that feels so good.
sure, i could moan about all the bad stuff that is still there. but you already know about this. what you don't know about is how much fun i am having right now.
had a friend over this afternoon to play some matches. he beat me 2:1 in the first match. second one got drawn 0:0! pure fun!
this game isn't perfect and yes, we (and myself) will move on and pick the next stuff that needs fixing. thats just normal...
but for what it does right now i can't blame the game. it is putting a smile on my face, letting all the good stuff overrule the bad stuff for me! thats it...
just a quick shoutout... a little text to let you be part of my good feelings right now! these words don't do this game justice as i'm not able to put it all down in words what i want to say!

have a good night everyone!
I´m with you on this!
And specially about the bold part: that´s the best way to go!
Keep on, dude!
