PES 2019 Discussion Thread (PS4, XB1)

I don't see any shooting issues, on advanced shooting it's the most rewarding game for scoring. Also PA 1 is quite good in terms of realism but also the manual override button gives as much freedom as you need

Next year the game (not on the pitch) needs a complete overhaul.
In a day of 4k Colours Konami use Grey loading screens.
They need to tweak gameplay in places -my first one would be to get rid of the ISS animations for keepers. They can look great one minute and ISS standard next.
But Master League, menus, presentation, Fonts - get rid of all the CAPITALS AS THEY ARE REALLY ANNOYING (see!) chants etc all need an upgrade.

Don't forget commentary. I don't think I can handle another year of "MORE AND MORE AND MORE!".

On the pitch the colours shine!
But yeah, their “animated” menus need an overhaul.
And it’s billions of colours and 4K resolution. ;)

I would like to see the audio advance before capital letters!

The cut scenes after you score a goal are pretty naff as well as the many unnecessary replays. There are so many small things that they could improve that would make the experience so much better.

Match flow itself is one that annoys me and always had. In the other game match never pauses, never stops. Ball boys are passing the ball, or players are placing it, slowly getting ready for corner or free kick. If you dont skip anything it looks like real match. These are moments when they could show stats or few shots of the stadium and stands. Managers and bench..
In Pes its always pause-restart, pause-restart. Takes a way a lot of potential to create atmosphere even with their limited licenses
 
We are stuck in the neverending loop of asking Konami to drastically improve their presentation and modes,their off the pitch part.

But how long have we been asking? Since Pes 2008? It has been more than ten years now, i think it's time to accept that will never happen. Their shift to mobile/online modes is clear and even then Myclub, their most profitable mode, is far from FUT complexity and detailed competitions, systems. Myclub is simply boring, FUT is exciting.

I think it's lack of manpower, as always with Pes. They are managing somehow to release Pes every year with so few developers, but they can't focus on everything at once, and modes generally take a step back, every year, since they shifted their focus to Myclub. Even when they focused on offline modes (last time was with Pes 2011-13) they didn't manage to make a compelling Master League mode, it was still mostly boring and definitely nothing groundbreaking. Yes, it was good compared to actual Master League, but that is a low bar.

I lost all hope that something will change about that unless they make a big announcement about wanting to hire much more people to develop Pes and put them to improve modes too.

Anyway, as expected, Pes 2019 on Ps Store two months after release is now at 20€ price because of discounts. I said i would have bought it, but somehow, even at 20€ i don't think it's worth it. Gameplay, even improved with the latest patch, can't carry it more than one month, besides it is digital, can't resell that. Waiting for it to reach 20€ as a physical copy.

Exactly :D I asked them more than 10 years :D

Edit: Menus in Pes 2013 looks good as well.

Yet still flat and boring. As i said, looking at what we have now they were better, but still far from what they should have been in 2013.

And who does he reply with? Not Lacazette, not Ozil, not Aubamayang...No.

I can only imagine in my mind. Pes 2020 with full customize cameras choose the best angle, with very loud supporters chants + realistic banners + commentary like in FIFA 19 + licensed scoreboards for each leagues+ superb looking menus.
 
I think I'm insane sometimes. I have a shitload to do at work but all I can think of is how I should make a winning formation with Atalanta!

Counter attack, long balls, gegenpress (the midfielders have great stamina). Any thoughts? :)

When they announced licensed leagues would have had customized scoreboards i really thought maybe this was the year for official scoreboards. Turns out customized scoreboards meant that tiny league symbol. I don't know how they didn't feel shame announcing that as a feature.
 
Is there ever any visual acknowledgement from a player when a keeper makes a great save? Cause that line comes up all the bloody time

I find it baffling that they make the commentator sound like an idiot, whenever Jim Beglin says something and he responds along the lines of: "Whaaaaaaaa? Why? I confuse! Football simple! Kick ball goal!"
 
Right, sorry, but ML is awful to play, the AI aided by the team spirit nonsense are ridiculous. At the start of every match the ATT/DEF level is set to attacking and they come firing out the blocks charging you down, and meanwhile your players are hampered by the turgid movement caused by the low TS value. Both on Top Player and superstar they just score when they want to score perfect one touch pass and move straight through on goal. wtf is this?

I will try a League mode instead to see if this makes anything any better, but I can't hack ML at all. the AI seem perfectly fine in exhibition mode but are disgraceful in ML. awful. awful.

That's one of the few parts I like because sometimes Peter agrees and sometimes he says something like, 'Oh, interesting' like he thinks Jim's choice is dumb AF

Was thinking the same yesterday. I hate TS.

Has anyone here got past the first 10 or so matches? Do the games get a bit easier when TS increases? I am worried I will get sacked, my owner wants me to finish 9th with Newcastle.

Celebrations are awful. That pause and jogging before the celebration starts kills any atmosphere.

I screw up owner goals all the time but still haven't gotten sacked, they usually just get mad

In my past experience, the balancing of TS is crazy - when it's low, the first-touch literally-impossible-to-stop passing is off the charts. When you get to 40-70 it's okay, and then above that it's really easy.

Which is a shame because I think it's a fantastic idea, to make a career mode about more than just buying the best players you can afford.

Doesn't every other team have a 100 TS, or am I making that up? I vaguely remember someone fiddling with the PC version, controlling AI sides in the Master League and discovering they all had TS 100.

The devs game play choices really are baffling sometimes. Who came up with crap like this?

How do you even increase TS? It seems random af. Like, why does my TS increase when I put a
Zimbabwean in the starting 11 over an English player (when all of the rest of the squad is English too?)

Is the Zimbabwean so likeable that the TS increases? Does nationality even mean anything at all?

They should just get rid of the whole TS. I understand the purpose in MyClub but it's just an unnecessary addition to ML.

I literally have no idea what effects TS. I hate it, I’d rather just have form arrows and nothing else.
