Since they've developed a sudden interest in the mess of an offline AI (surely nothing to do with the appearance of a few critical articles in the gaming press...
) I'd like to see more variety in CPU shooting, there's far too high a % of top corner shots and hardly any low shots.

I noticed on their twitter replies that suddenly they are asking for info on the AI issue. As if its not out there already.Since they've developed a sudden interest in the mess of an offline AI (surely nothing to do with the appearance of a few critical articles in the gaming press...

The good stuff
Ai defending
CPU being physical
On ball (passing,running,shooting)
Manual passing (best in a very long time)
If they can fix the goalie not coming off the line (which mine did a lot when playing through ball)
And CPU being more "direct" not playing it out to the wings.
We'd have a pretty good game.
I even defended like shit a few times,and CPU went between my Cb's and took a shot.
Btw I didn't play the demo,so the step from Pes 18 to this is quite big
Fix the issues and I'm very happy

I dunno, I get where you are coming from but as you can see in the first quote, Spoony was one of the first people to mention and upload a video regarding the wing spam.
On the AI defending bit, I agree it's good.. or is it bed attacking AI by user AI team mates?
For example I built a 3 v 2 opportunity, my winger player a one two with my striker and the striker started to support him, I then pressed l1 and forward which showed the marker above the AI player indicating he was selected for the run, he actually DROPPED speed and didn't end up supporting my winger. Attack broke down. It was as if my striker didn't want to cross a line, he ran then stopped when I made the run command.
Also guys, I see a lot of mixed opinions on the games... people saying they rarely see the AI do low cross spam, people who say it's all they see. Could this just be because of the way we play the game? I always push my opened to the wing because I prefer defending wide areas, I'm not saying the AI only push the wing because of this but I think it does enhance that spam. My gripe is that even though they can't get through that way they still try it... it's like the AI suffer insanity...

Dunno man,only one game in,and so far combos with lobbed through balls and shortpassing from me it's been ok.
And i haven't set any fluid formation or special tactics yet either.
I'm gonna start a ML later on and see how it's playing out there

If Wing Play was just prefered way of attacking for AI - It would be fine by me. Especially, that (allegedly) we have adjusting AI. So after few attempts, they would probably look for another way to score. But the problem is much deeper than that. Have a look at the clip posted recently, when AI is through on goal (TWICE) and still decides to stop and pass to the wing. This is not our playing style.. this is AI obsessed and addicted to Wing Play. This is broken mechanism. Wing Play is their One Ring from Mordor and they just cant resist it!

I'm not going to lie, I have seen this a bit in my ML but not in ALL the games. It's part if the reason I said the AI suffer from insanity hahaha.
What's the most annoying thing is that there is so much potential in this year's game and this is part of the anchor holding it back.
ya, he might be one of the first to mention it, but hes now enjoying the game so much that he could ignore the flaws
I watched some of his live streams, he just enjoyed so much and kept praising the game
I think he could use his influence to report the issue to konami as I said hes quite a hard core pes player on youtube
he discovered the issue first but then?why didn't he keep following the case and report to konami
maybe he didn't think its a big problem, still the best football game in history....

Exactly that! This year they have almost perfect game of football. Thats why I openned twitter, thats why I joined this forum, thats why Im constantly wrecking their heads on facebook. And Im sure a lot of people feels the same. Its not a shit game this year. Its worth fighting for.

We're all accostumed to Konami's ways. Every year the game feels rushed, that's because instead of preparing the game to fix even the tiniest of details, they just WING it.

Which button (PS4) makes players do a forward run? I'm using the same button combination I've always used and the little arrow appears above the player but they just stand there. Am I doing something wrong?

You can unlock it through exhibition too. Set the diff to superstar, 5min match. Kick off then score own goal from your team. Before match end change side and control your opposition until match end. That will count as a win for user. Repeat 5x you will unlock legend diff. I've tried it. It worked

- If you have the ball and want this player to start running after a pass - hold R2 and pass. After the pass they should start running.
- If you want some other player to start running - hold L1 and point right stick at the player (thats on basic run)
Having said that - this is only in theory. For some reasons sometimes my players are not very supportive when I want them to run
Some people claim its due to fatigue and after 2/3 runs they won't do it anymore..

Konami need their own feedback forums, I don't mean like self serving fan sites by industry leaches, its insane how they don't, literally is for a massive company to close itself off from its customer base in this day and age and for petulance to be accepted when addressing paying customers on social media

I have even tagged the official Konami account asking why I am not being acknowledged for sending polite non confrontational messages to the PES twitter and they haven't even replied.

Btw seen tons of reports on the bugs reported here being directed tw tw konami (me included) and hopefully they'll address it.
Don't think it's been this much in so early before.
If they fix it,I think we have a very good game
Who knows, maybe I´ll find a good deal and go for it. At the normal price point? nope.
Anyway, I´ve seen these reports on the CPU not shooting when clear on goal and yeah, some of them are really embarassing, almost unbelievable how did they let the game come out this way. But, I do believe they will correct it soon. It´s too bad and almost impossible to believe they won´t.

No wonder the offline gaming experience is in such a mess. And all for their 15 minutes of fame, a free copy of the game and t-shirt. I hope they can sort the ai issues out as I want to purchase a finished game at some point in the near future.

I'm of the opinion that now the press reviews are slating the AI in the public domain, Konami have to/will take action to patch it; and that is why they are suddenly paying attention to the twitter users telling them about the AI being utterly hopeless.
I dont think it is a case of having to re-write the entire AI attacking code, that would take far far too long.

Why would anyone even waste their time to play PES offline. Did this forum get invaded by WENB people loool
All i read is pointless. The real issues is games that lag so hard the game keeps freezing, the extreme X SQUARE defending lol its horrible people mostly just score through balls in this game. The AI is completely retarded. I notice during the late second half my defenders go full retard mode and im still trying to wonder why. The game does play good, but the same old issues kill it. Sometimes i think about the PES18 beta and it just confirms to me what konami want... PES will always be a game full of extreme CPU assist, both in pass and defense. The good gameplay cannot come out due to this. If anyone here plays a top player online you will get destroyed by the on rails assisted gameplay.
I notice the online leaderboards have less people than before. On PES15 i remember online divisions with way more people, today im ranked like 300 and i barely played. In myClub there is only 66K people.... i guess with Lite it will go over 100K in October? lol
PES sales are down like every year and now they can put me on the list. But hey Konami is ok some people will waste 3K on myclub... lmao if not for the online casino PES would be shut down.

Hi Guys,
New to this particular forum but just wanted a quick vent and get other people’s opinions.
Now I’m not the best pro player in the world far from it but had a good unbeaten spell over last few days must of won about 10 drawn 5/6 with maybe 1 loss which is unheard of for me but all i accumulated was like 20 odd weekly points for all that hard work kept playing people with little or no weekly points and only managing a point a game and teams who were much greater than mine and higher rated opponents I would scrape a draw and not get rewarded I then just lost 2 on the bounce and all my points and hard work gone, how can that be a fair point system win 80% and the 20% you don’t you lose it all?
Plus last year with the divisions at least every promotion or remain you would get a contract this year you get nothing. Only a weekly reward which is pointless because you can lose everything in one game. Also spins at 25k and no free contracts it’s like I’m stuck in limbo with my team now.
Anyone else having these problems or am I moaning too much? Lol .
Love the gameplay but the ranking/points system seems utterly pointless
