PES 2019 Discussion Thread (PS4, XB1)

Why'd you think that? You don't use all the bait for one fish?

I'm a hip-hop head, but no need to use your pants halfway down. Just like there's no need to paint your fingernails or tint your hair pink if you like punk rock.
Oh, but I ain't no kid either :D
YOU GOTTA KEEP IT REAL MAN!

....

I am a father of a young daughter, I have a job and a family to take care of. I can't play this game for more than an hour tops two every other night and if I want to progress in my ML, I cannot afford 20 minutes matches. It just takes too long. On top of that, if the game does the exact same thing it does in 7 minute encounters – namely, boost the AI unrealistically and throw all kinds of tricks at me that prevent me from scoring more than the 1 per match or whatever the system decides is a proper scoreline based on TS – there is no point in dragging this on more than necessarily.

As for manual: I am playing on broadcast cam (through sider on the PC) and it is simply not possible with the limited time I have to train this to a point where I can figure out the angles and play this competitively. I tried with extended through ball, but it just never ends up anywhere near where I wanted it, so it has to be PA1 for me and some level of assistance.

Perhaps the other game is more geared towards my specific, more casual player type, but after I won the Premiership in my first season I got bored of it and wanted to give PES another go.

I´m a father of three kids. In a week I maybe have like 2 - 4 hours time to play.
I also wanna have more progress in my ML but I rather play one or two games only (with 20 mins), instead of having a few more, but not so enjoyable ones.

About manual and broadcast cam: That´s exactly my dilemma. I wanna play manual, but a too narrow angle (which looks great), is almost impossible to play for me.
I use sider as well and found a good compromise between nice view and playable angle which is on value 80 on angle.

I've played 20 Min games since Pes 13,with the exception of Pes 16,it was impossible on it,games would end 5-5 etc.
Manual or PA 0 since 13 as well.
My take on setting up the game that way is that I rather play 10 games a week that has some sort of realism than 20 frantic ping pong games.
And for the PA0 thing, same story," i dont have time to learn etc"
But since I know I'm probably gonna play Pes 14/15/16/17/18/19- Pes 2030 I'd better learn it cause otherwise I'd be stuck playing a pingy game every year.
It's not the biggest surprise that PA1 it's a ping fest every year,so learn PA0 or forever be stuck with it.
Glad I learned.

Same here. Actually PES 2015 made me go manual. I so disliked the ball physics and laser-guided look on passing.
Bought it on steam anyway, but hardly ever played. Only a year later when I got bored of FIFA 15, I tried and started to learn manual. But the low corner shots from AI made me stop it quite quick.
On PES 2017 I learned to master manual passing and I can´t go back no more.

Remember forcing myself on 13 to learn
Didn’t really click for me then, even if Pes 13 is/was a great game, and the PA1 was good enough back then,so I actually really learned it like you did,on Pes 15.
To bad it had those low corner shots, great game
I did spend about 30 min a day on the training ground trying out different things on both Pes 15/16/17 (had more time back then) and can’t really go back either.
Pes 15s manual passing was/is really tough, feels the most manual of them all.

"Not long to go!" that tweet says.

Aye. Just literally six months after the game was released (late August). Not long.

Is that really the right message considering how long people have been waiting? How about "sorry"?

"Merry Christmas!", the tweet finishes with. Without the slightest hint of irony.

I mean. It's really hard to stomach, how flippant they are about literally fucking everything, including the promises they made to fool you into buying the game in the first place (let's be honest, if you're a casual gamer and support Celtic/Rangers, given the marketing, you'll have been feeling conned for a long time based on the assurances that were made - are their face-scans in the game yet?).

It’s a fucking Pyramide scam,for real.
Since I have a bunch of friends that are Rangers (long story) and they all were “getting Pes this year” so I completely understand their frustration.
If Pes would go out and announce my club as a partner, plus with a stadium ,so I can play a few derbies vs our rivals,I’d be over the moon, then have it delayed for 6 months,I’d never ever buy it again.
Konami should really nurture their relationships with smaller leagues etc, since they don’t have any major licences.
When I read the first scam, the hiding of not having D2,the news we found out, that was really me not buying this game, but a €14 deal on release day made buy it.

If they have the same business model next year,im out, regardless of the price!
“Ye bastard cunts”

They are pretty flippant with the responses. It's rather pathetic by Konami.
That said, Celtic Park and Ibrox sure do look amazing. Can't wait to play the Old Firm derbies in them

This is KONAMI and they prove their lousy PR year after year.
If there were awards for the worst PR, worst failing in marketing, communication and customer service...KONAMI would win them all.

Did you notice what happened with their PES mobile game?
Release date was 13th december.
You could download it from the app store but coudln´t play it before the 13th.
On the 13th you still couldn´t play...there was a note "sorry, server maintenance extended to the 14th."
Next day, still not working "sorry, server maintenance extended to the 15th."
Next day it said for a couple of hours "sorry, server maintenance extended to 31st of december."!
LOL! Best thing was the comment memes on facebook like "we downloaded a 1.5 GB Coutinho wallpaper on the phone!"

Finally you could play it on the 16th (or was it the 18th??? I can´t remember) with sever errors.
Well, KONAMI never "disappoints" you....no matter what section :P

Hello. Real Time Dynamic Lighting. 2nd Divisions. Licensed League's Official Graphics Pack. Russian League Stadiums. Thailand League available in Master League. Bye.

Dev team in my mind.

I really think on pes development work around 3-5 people

I think that there is a fixed development team at Japan including a number of people who work on many Konami games/projects. And PES being an annual release there are already fixed tasks set for a year and these are divided amongst the employees. So probably on full time (24/7), no one is working on it or just a very few people. If i would imagine it could work like a shared service centre's finance department comparing it to my field as im also responsible for many many many monthly task which are very important to some individuals but of course there is a time line for everything and importance level to everything. Also probably here are annual tasks instead of monthly ones (im ignoring now the live updates and myclub service). And probably Ibrox and Celtic meant an additional work to the graphic designer(s) being a late aquired license.

Hey guys, does anyone have the US version of Pes2019?? and if so what are the commentary languages available?? I was hoping it had the Argentine commentary, but also thought it had the Japanese commentary as well. Anyone know??
Ive currently got the AU Disc version (which im guessing is same as EU version), and if the prices go down to crazy 60% off status, was thinking of getting a digital version..but with decent commentary.

Re the Celtic and Rangers stadiums being released in Feb..whoa… that's too bad.. month n a half away even if its early Feb. I was optimistic enough to think we'd get news during the week that itd be out either at the end of Dec, or very early Jan, which I guess would have been ok. I know people may disagree, but I reckon any of the special versions, like the Celtic and Rangers disc versions, should have these stadiums on release.. and exclusive. I mean why buy the Celtic version if its exactly the same as the other versions, other than having the Celtic FC cover.

Exactly. Even tho I disagree with this whole poor Konami/small development team BS, Im willing to give them the benefit of doubt.

But even with that - they released two stadiums already. One that was not announced and other that doesnt exist anymore.

Any self respecting company would say few months back - "Right, lads. I know we were planning to release these two in November but priorities changed. We have late partnership deal with Celtic and Rangers and people need those stadiums."

There is no logic, no organisation and zero common sense there...

Watch the credits and you will see that people actually working on the game (and not the marketing team or data collection team) are like 20-30, just like at Ps2 times. No more than that.

The size of development team is simply not enough to make things quick. When will they increase the dev team to at least 100 people working?

Also, i feel like there is no passion whatsoever creating Pes. Every year they try new ideas (like copy Fifa FUT) to make Myclub more appealing, but it always fails because they are not innovative and everything they add to Myclub has always been years before in FUT.

Gameplay improvements press releases have been less and less detailed, because of course they have nothing new to detail.

I understand that game development on such advanced consoles is a massive undertaking and graphically, these things take time but i think your quote in bold bears thinking about. People often underestimate how grueling, stressful and even soul destroying game development must be. Employees are often over worked, probably have direction or tasks changed or abandoned on frequent basis, have very little say over what can or can't be implemented and you've just gotta do as your told. Then it releases and the feedback is negative or toxic even.

Yeah i'd be phoning it in at that rate and just collecting a cheque too.

With lack of passion i mean to say they (higher ups at Konami) don't care to really improve the game. I imagine development is awful but not having a real vision beside the "let's make Myclub as profitable as possible" is terrible too. Lack of passion, lack of will to really improve the game, lack of innovation, lack of ambition to show the world Pes is still there and trying to push forward and reach goals that Fifa still hasn't. This is Pes development nowadays, lack of passion means that for me.

one question for the ps4 users, how s the responsiveness on the ps4, because i get input lag in day matches on the pc version
Can you elaborate on what you mean?

Im on ps4. And I play on -1 speed. There is input delay, but as we discussed a while ago, that input delay depends on a situation and is caused by more realistic approach.

When you press a button it starts the whole pass/shoot process and the reaction is somewhat dictated by your body ballance, position, ball movement, your momentum..

If you are in good position, have momentum and ball goes to you for a volley shot, i didnt notice any delays.
But if you're running one way, trying to pass the other, while off ballance, there will be delay.

Same with clearance in your penalty area. If you are trying to clear the ball with O (which is technically a pass), there will be delay, as your fella is trying to be precise and aim somewhere.
But if you just want to whack the ball out and use square - there is no delay there.

Some people like this approach, others dont. Hope I answered your question.

First of all I gotta say I am positively surprised, that there are so many dads around here. Quite lovely.

As for manual, you guys have nudged me now enough to give it another try as soon as I am back from the holidays. If I can't beat the f*cking AI on professional within a month, though, I'll go back to PA1. My tolerance for suffering in this game is almost used up by the atrocious lack of team and player individuality.

A nice Christmas to everyone.
