I can`t find words to describe how much I enjoy Master League, even more than in ps2 era! Player AI and stamina are the most important things, really struggle on professional difficulty and this game is har. Different ball game on Master League compared to exibthion games. Yes, it`s not perfect, outside of the pitch can be miles better but gameplay is by miles better than any football game until now. Happy days

I've started a master league with Zenit and though it's obviously far from perfect, I can honestly say this is the first time in ages I'm actually enjoying it regardless of whether I win, lose or draw.
As a side note I signed Gokhan Tore and the guys a beast. He seems to be absolutely everywhere and he's my top scorer despite playing on the wing.

If you exclude some weird Konami cases,where you can be runner-up in the Europa League but finish 12th instead of 9th and get sacked,because the challenge mode is still in infant stage and cannot evaluate things right,it is pretty basic.If you run a losing streak and the boss trust is reducing combined with failure in most missions to get sacked.But you must get really low,below 15%.Two seasons that I failed for one position but had over 30%,I was speared and stayed to the team.
Only one time I saw jumps in trust where the one week I was in 13% ,after one week I promoted to Europa League knockout and domestic cup next stage and jumped from 13% to 25%!!!! And the last week of December I lost the match in 29 December and jumped again to 11% and I got sacked.
Except for this one time I have not seen any extreme “sack” by the president,but I feel like I am in a lottery when the firing dates approach and I have low trust.
The experiment I do now, I had Paris FC promoted to Ligue one with some average missions in second season,something like finish mid table.I finished 2nd and went to CL and in third season el presidente asked me to win Ligue1,or CL or cup.Except for French cup the other two missions are inevitable,but I have over 60% owners trust so when I fail probably in the season end ,if I get sacked it will mean that it is “broken” in some way so I will return to classic mode ML.

Finally I could get my hands on this game.
It´s a great edition this year, no doubt. The pace, the ball, fouls here and there, it does feel good. I´m playing friendlies and cups for now, and it feels a bit frustrating. There´s a lot of variety on CPU tactics, wich is nice. Thing is, when CPU plays with an attacking instruction, I don´t have time to think, it´s way to frantic. The pace is generaly good, but the urgency in CPU passing the ball as fast as possible is very noticeable. Also, inside my box, I feel very hard to defend, like CPU always has some advantage fighting for the ball and nearly always finds itself on a good situation to score, unlike me, who has to work hard to find the net. This happens no matter what level I play, and I feel forced to use PA1 in order to have a chance.
Great game though, always pushing me to play one more, wich is a good sign.

Id like to see them and you to comment as to where you 'lost' control of your players and game to stop you preventing the goal. I appreciate you might not have time to do that, so accept you may not wish to back up your 'opinion' with evidence.
I buy it every year for my sons birthday, not sure why id lie about that. Not for me, I dont like it as ive stated elsewhere, but he enjoys it for what it is.
Outside of that ill apologise for my language. Im happy to be proven wrong, as yet, no one has come up with one let alone multiple examples of the game taking control of their 'players/team' and stopping the 'human' doing anything to prevent a goal.
The major glitch is submit what they want and when accepted renegotiate and take down price by 50% - offer will be accepted

My Club is so contaminated with scripting or I better call it "bias" in this case its not even funny. I play full manual and started really good until I had a record that was like 35 wins 15 draws and 8 losses.
My team was pretty good but that's nothing special as everyone has a team of an average of at least 85 rated players. So until that point everything was good for me I changed nothing not the coach no players but suddenly nothing worked anymore. At this point you must know that you really often play against the same guys over and over again because there aren't a lot of manual my club players out there. I started losing against players that I easily beat before. The icing on the cake was a 1:1 against a 285 rated player with 13:1 shots for me and oh boy those shots were good ones. Now my record dropped to 42 wins and 20 losses and I just don't have the feeling of control anymore. It's just so frustrating.. Why they have to do shit like this.

the AI in 2019 has serious advantages on superstar but I felt that way about 2018 in the first few months eventually I took my serie B team to a serie A title and the champions league semi finals in 6 seasons so ill stick at it but right now im losing games im dominating in my ML by scores of 4-1 3-0 ect they are just ruthless
Really hope that´s the case. Even on Friendlies I´m being raped. Played a cup semi-final twice against Iceland and on second half they scored 2, no chance to defend them. I created lot´s of chances, some on the post, but no goals. Guess I´ll have to practice more, but right now I can´t stop thinking that my defence is always weaker than CPU attacks, when momentum breaks through.

yea same as me its like the CPU does everything it can to stop me scoring amazing saves, hits the post, last ditch tackle then they go up the other end and score 2 in 3 minutes

Yes i agree with this.It is definitely an improvement if you compare this with how awful it was pre patch which became totally unplayable for me.Post patch things have been improved a lot, but there is definitely room for improvement because after a lot of games you feel like cpu is a bit one dimensioned regarding scoring goals

I hardly doubt you put the game up to legend difficulty, as the CPU will stand on your toes as soon as you just think about to march through the midfield. Previous PES were much more problematic in this department.

OK so after a solid week of PES and ignoring FIFA I feel I am in a better place to judge PES.
First of all the game really does play better in Exhibition mode. It much more balanced. Much more like football.
I started a ML with Napoli - who I have used a lot in Exhibition mode and the game is totally different - even with the real Napoli players.
In ML the AI doesn't shoot from distance, its not as aggressive and the range of goals they score are very samey.
When it comes to my team Im finding passes not going where I want them, my midfield go walkabout - even though Im meant to have 1 staying back at all times - I see him charging forward. My keeper will pull off some lovely saves then get beaten by weak shots at the near post.
There is literally no midfield in Master League and the game is designed for end to end football with hardly any fouls.
Still enjoying it but after a week I feel I cant carry on in the Master League and will just play Exhibition matches.

I heard people saying that league and cup games feel different from ML games. But as i don´t play ML games, i can´t judge by myself. But maybe it opens new doors for you.

I reinstalled PES 2018 to compare the Ai and I have to say that last year's Ai feels more dynamic and players like Messi and Ronaldo stand out unlike in PES 2019. The lack of player ID from the PES 2019 Ai makes all teams feel generic and thats a deal breaker for me personally.

After the patch I find a lot more enjoyment playing this game!
ML plays great and even the COM challenges in myclub are fun to play.
I feel a lot more unpredictability on the pitch than I felt before.
Animations look smooth, pace is good, weight feels realistic and goals feel damn rewarding!
Missed shots....hitting the woodward makes me yell out and doesn´t leave me cold.
Despite a few little flaws here and there, I really feel a bit sorry at the moment when I have to shut down the game when real life calls.
That´s true. But in a positive way, I like having a bit more space now when AI plays more risky.
That provides great counter attacks and combination play.
I don´t have that in EVERY game though, which is good. Often I struggle to find a way through the defense.
I agree. I have to say I like watching the cutscenes in PES. Most of the players resemble their originals almost perfectly.
Don´t know if there´s already improvement in FIFA 18/19, but the faces look off.....which is quite unbelievable knowing the game comes from EA.

What the low crosses were to PES2019 pre-patch, same were the long balls to the wing in PES2018. But PES2018 never got really patched.

Yeah the long balls to the wing remain an issue with PES 2018 but it's small price to pay to see Ai cause problems for defenders with skilled dribbling.
Maybe i have to reinstall PES2018, too. I don´t remember CPU dribbling as a threat, to be honest.
Yeah I think ill try just the league season.
