PES 2019 Discussion Thread (PS4, XB1)

Could we possibly see a few videos? I'm interested to see just how misplaced they are (all I'm seeing is interceptions of passes with excellent aim).
Im playing on Superstar and see missplaced passes too. They are usually too strong and go out for goal kick or for a throw in. They rarely missplace pasess to the team members in the middle as these usually gets intercepted if arent perfect.

Edit: in order for AI to missplace pass you have to pressure them. If you just stand back and give them place you wont see missplaced passes.

Heres a couple of examples showing how r2 finesse shot is broken when using full manual shooting. Pay particular attention to "L2 aiming arrow" and where the actual shot goes. I did examples for both ingame view, and 1st person view. That's my biggest issue with full manual shooting, hence I rarely ever use it in game:

In game view (practice mode), look particularly at the last shot I did.

First person view (in skills training mode), see the ball go well wide of my intended aiming arrow.
I don't want the aiming to be just like a "normal manual shooting" as it might be too easy to do.
Currently, the distance from the aim is about 1-2 meters. I wish they could lessen the distance from the actual target, maybe just a foot away:D(or depends on the player's finishing and curve rating) so it's more doable long-distance but still a little harder than normal shooting.

After practicing countless of hours shooting R2-shots outside-the-box, I only managed to score 6 goals otb in an actual match(TP/SS) since the release. I definitely want it fixed, but I doubt the devs will do something about it. Guess we just have to live wit it, unfortunately.

I can live with people being annoyed about manual passers using basic/adv shooting (which I don't) but not using advanced through balls are just dumb. Don't they watch real football?
LOL. I mis-read. I thought you mean "advanced shooting" just like what you said in the past.
So they need "through-ball filter" now haha

I personally don't use through-balls but that's just a personal preference. I'm more consistent when I just use one button for all my ground passes(and another button for all my arial passes). I feel it's easier since I have only 2 "pass buttons" to think of when in attack hehehe
I don't mind my opponent using "advanced through-balls". IMO, advanced through-ball is the most manual pass in the game.

Got the game last night on PC for £20. Doing a standard league mode with Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Super League and have to say it is very enjoyable and definitely has that "just one more game" feeling. Maybe its because its the CSL but I do feel the top players stand out quite a bit, Hulk was always causing me damage!

Haven't tried Master League yet, but hoping the transfers aren't too bad. The issues off the pitch are still there, as are a few on the pitch but it is such a step up from the demo and I assume the pre-patch game. :)

That's what I was saying in the Contrast thread yesterday.
At the risk of coming off as a hater (which I'm not. I've loved, bought, played and modded PES since forever) I get this strong feeling that a lot of people (not everyone, of course) want it to be GREAT because they can't like the other game, so they overreact to the patch, constantly.

And vice versa then? Ridiculous. Is it so hard to understand that people might think the game is good because it’s good? Get over yourself

Hard to believe? :LMAO:

I mean, I can understand if you or anybody else tell me they like the game. It's ok. In fact, I want you all to like it. I can't. But at least some can.

But the way I see it, from where I'm sitting, it's hard to believe for me that people can like the game the way it is. But that's just with my own eyes, because I can't see it any other way.

Dear God these FUMA- people are really something special, last night this one guy sent me a message claiming advanced through balls are a cheat. Next time I play Korpen- football (swedish version of sunday league football) I'm gonna ask them not to put a spin on the ball when passing cos it's cheating to us who's not that good...
Korpen= the real MMA fighting League

Exactly. That’s just how you feel. Does not mean people are forcing or lying to themselves about liking it because they do not like the other game as you implied.

If youre on PC you can get the transfers back to how they were pre-patch by restorimg your last edit file. Ran a few tests and I'm back to De ligt going to Arsenal every season and Tottenham selling all their stars which I can live with and sort of justify lool. Kane to Madrid has happened 3 times in a row lol

Nah. It's not hard to understand. It's hard to believe. But suit yourself man.

Don't push me, because then you put your tail between your legs and act offended.

See? This is why i said this isnt an adult conversation because to a valid argument you come off like this and you were suprised why i wrote that. Now you are just proving my point with the fact you cant even a take a joke. On top of that your own one so to speak.

Ok. Going back to bed being sick, be nice to my Konami defender peeps!

I also think the high praise for the patch is way out of proportion to what it actually delivered. So AI teams now sometimes don't low cross on every attack, goalkeepers now sometimes come off their line, your player now sometimes doesn't get stuck to an AI player's back at goal-kicks...

...these might be impressive improvements if the game was brand new, in its first edition. But this is a very "mature" football game that has been in constant development, with full-priced updates every year, for 20 years! It's pathetic that such basic problems exist and all this "amazing" patch has done is marginally improve embarrassing weakness in a very mediocre, repetitive game that barely evolves at all.
what it delivered!? its huge what it delivers!!! i don't want to go in detail here... but its there, and you could say its a new game! essential stuff got fixed! FACT!
i see it the other way around! a lot of AI teams don't cross low all the time, goalkeepers come way better of line in most cases (90%), my player got free more than he got stuck! :)
we had a game that was bugged! now we have game that is very nice to play. sure, should be from the start, but i am more than happy. don't like that negative attitude! i am a detailed and passionate user myself... but i don't like your negative view of things!
tell me, what gameplay features got worse with this latest patch??

Its funny. It almost feels like some people are unhappy that the game was fixed, coz they lost a lot of reasons to complain about. And now some are angry that others enjoying it...
Im not gonna get into that argument.
You can never make everyone happy unfortunately.

If you like the game now - savage! Enjoy it!
If you dont - nothing changed. You didnt like it on Wednesday either.

I know that I will have a lot of fun in my ML, even tho its shallow and empty, as gameplay is almost at its full potential now.

If it will be shallow and empty next year - I will take a break from PES, as gameplay simply cannot improve/change enough to justify buying another game. Not until they look after everything off the pitch.

Now if ya'll excuse me, partners, my horse is waiting to explore the wild west!

I still think this game has a lot of problems. In particular with individuality. But honestly, at least from this first session games, it does at least a decent job in delivering a varied experience while the same couldn't be said like, at all about 2018.

Final third of the game tiredness actually change the way players behave on the field. Contrasts and duels have more random outcomes. Global positioning and aggression is on a whole another page than last awful year. I can see why people is enjoying it (I myself do too in some measure).

What still doesn't fully convince me it's as said, individuality. It looks like it only works on extreme poles and forget about the middle nuances. Like I can feel Tottenham being stronger than Genoa (what I'm actually testing in my two MLs). But I can't point at players being faster or more technical as it should be. It's like I feel scripting working for me in one case and not on the other or something similar. Bigger difference I can feel is that I can play long balls reliably on Kane, to have him defend it or head better, while the opposite isn't true with Genoa forwards.
And there is shooting. Still don't know what to think about it.

All in all, if this game had a more obvious individuality, with this kind of environment it could really shine. In the current state, I still don't know.

I enjoy two games:LOL: Maybe later i will choose one of them and play hardcore. In this moment everyone beat me in two games:DANCE:

On some measure, I do too. I've never felt the great need for this kind of derby rivalry that often arose between our two titles, anyway.

If it can be, for me, 2017 all over again (where I've played both to the very end of the season) I'd be very happy. They both aren't perfect and they both have different stuff to enjoy. So at the current state of things I not see reasons why I should pick a side.

@darkoj2007 my man!! Fuma, -1 Speed on professional plus patch Is so awesome! Cant stop playing.

I have a friend over. Watching Bundesliga and then play some matches. Great fun!!
I will be really happy if some of memebers here can find eachother in the same room and play the game in one console, to have a good time and enjoy the game. Playing online is not the same, feeling is not there. Sitting on the couch and play some tournament is really fun. I am jealous when I hear that some of gou even today (becouse we are older :D ) enjoy the game that way :) enjoy my men, have a good time and apreciate it, not everyone are lucky like you :)

When the patch kicked in, I had 3 more games to go in my master league season, taking Arsenal out of the championship (!) and although I'd walked the league I noticed that it felt easier in those last games. My last game played was against Juve in the ICC and it was crazy. I should mention that I'm playing fixed cursor so my take on the patch will be very different from most but the thing that occurred to me is that they've fixed the attacking ai but it has shown up the defensive deficiencies. My game with juve ended 4-3 to me and I don't think I've had a game like that since release. There were loads of moments of passive defenders (mine and theirs) and times when they dropped far too deep. I'm really happy with the fixes they've done, I just hope that it hasn't completely imbalanced the game. Time will tell.

I don't want the aiming to be just like a "normal manual shooting" as it might be too easy to do.

Trust me, full manual shooting is hard enough (trying to aim with L2 under the pressure of defenders pressing so quick on superstar or legend) for the r2 finesse shot not to work more precisely. Ie. Even when it did work properly like in 15..its still hard to pulloff correctly..but so damn rewarding. Now its too broken to even try on fullmanual. I agree it should be hard to pull off, but not with the likes of messi robben or continho etc. Anyways i tweeted official pes regarding this yesterday:
