I don’t really like Sir Alex. Respect his achievements, of course, and acknowledge that he is one of the best in the world at his profession, sure – but like? No. He’s generally offensive, deliberately mischievous and often acts more like a 7 year old than a 70 year old.

That said, I’m not sure what the FA are really after here. A 5 game ban, at the most important part of the season, for literally one word. And for the vast majority of people who have only heard second hand how it was said, he basically immediately realises what he’s said and backtracks to replace ‘fair’ with ‘strong’. This said on the in-house media channel, in the heat of a defeat which was damaging and at least partly due to inept refereeing favouring one team – by a referee that has now done the same in 3 consecutive fixtures to United.

This current ban just shows you – even in the heat of a very heated moment managers are not even allowed one split second of wavering of absolute political correctness, even to a non-public media source.

Perhaps more worryingly than all of that, however, is that MUTV have confirmed the FA never requested a copy of Fergie’s comments. That’s right, they charged him without any actual evidence, purely on second hand reports, of course from the non-biased, moderate and always politically correct media.

Interesting post. Sorry to go back to the Suarez issue again but some people are being very hypocritical defending the FA it seems.

Anyway, as I said, enjoy the season everyone. Hopefully we'll get a European place, maybe do well in a cup, but the future does look good to me. Cya's!

Police investigating an incident of alleged abuse by fans towards Oldham Athletic defender Tom Adeyemi have arrested a man.

Merseyside Police said a 20-year-old man from the Aintree area of Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

An investigation was launched after Friday night's Liverpool v Oldham football game at Anfield.

The man is being held in custody and being interviewed by detectives.

Not sure which people heard him as every report I've seen from people actually there have said they didn't hear a thing. Hope he gets named and shamed.

Of course, that is if he actually did say something racist. People still seem to think it might be the same person who shouted "Manc Bastard" and it's been misheard as "black bastard". Either way, I expect the police being involved means actual, real evidence will be used in judgement and not probability.

Hoilett would be awesome! He's a serious talent! and to think he made it all the way from my province Ontario in Canada! Just goes to show, if you've got the talent, there are no excuses, you can make it!!

Hoilett is probably a target for us, and if the sumes that are in rumours are close to reality..he could be a steal...

we need such player...maybe two.

Kuyt and Maxi won´t be here long imho...Maxi want´s Argentina return and Kuyt is simply not good enough now..

This Kuyt situation is also something to blame to Commolli and Dalglish. Why the hell did they renew his contract paying him big money and he wasnt getting any younger and wasnt even going to be a first pick ? Ridicolous

"We" are in this instance Liverpool fans, among the Liverpool fans there will be people who have studied rocket science, but also very stupid people. Among the Liverpool there are anti-racists (like most Liverpool fans here, i don't doubt that), there are racists and there are many people from other races than the Caucasian...

Just like the "we's" of other clubs.

I agree with you on the lack of transparancy concerning football justice. But in this case the FA did the only decent thing that is defendable. I explained myself earlier on about that (Suarez being a very high profile player and thus a role model). The (less defendable) decent thing would have been to give Evra exactly the same sanction as Suarez.

To the United fans who seem to enjoy themselves in this thread. Do you people really think Evra covered himself with glory in all this business? And why is it that i don't see no fans of other big clubs like Manchester City (get used to it...), Arsenal or Spurs come here and gloating about the racism of one Liverpool fan?

It's called Irony, Gerd. Fair Do's i'm having a cheeky pop at Dag's who was fervant in his defence of Suarez.....Hands up.
There was a large number of Chelsea fans who chanted "you know what you are" to Anton Ferdinand... Despicable, but this has received far less press coverage and condemnation than one goon at Anfield and that's surely down to LFC's stance over Suarez.
Like I said earlier in this thread every club has pricks, racist or not, In fact MUFC had more fan's arrested for racial abuse than LFC(who had zero) last year.
As for gloating?? If you think seeing a young lad reduced to tears on the biggest night of his professional career has given me any kind of pleasure at all you're deluded mate.

This is a thread dedicated to all LiverpoolFC fans, and for as far as I'm concerned racism and Liverpool have nothing in common(besides Suarez :P).

I say there are other more interesting topics we can discuss about rather than talking about the above mentioned topic which often leads us into wrong conclusions thus causing unnecessary conflicts.

that guy is also not guilty untill proven.. that´s what law and court is for..to prove or unprove guilt for something..

If he is guilty, he should be punished, but there should be evidence to prove his guilt..

valid evidence.

Guy could have said something totally different that the player heard as something different.. surely inside 45000 crowd stadium some word´s might sound different.. i´m not saying he didn´t said racist words..i only think he deserves to be heard before found guilty..

You are right but as per norm, every know it all pops up with their comments anyway. Let the law sort it first before condemning somebody.

And did somebody say all Liverpool supporters are condoning racism or are racists now after what's happened lately?! I might be wrong as read something like it late last night and I'm not going back through the thread. If somebody said that (and I state if!) then the guy is a 14 carrot prick.

PLF, are you sure you still follow Gomis's performance? He is not the player he used to be in Saint-Etienne.
He is a lot more mature and calm. His attitude is one of the best in Ligue 1 (in and outside the pitch). He does a very ungraceful job and manage to score at least 10 goals each season.

I agree that there may be no room for improvement, but this player is clearly underrated (in comparison with Lukaku).
Imo, he'd fit well in the Liverpool squad.

Well actually.....that was the first thing my dad said when I spoke to him earlier after telling him they beat City. "We''ll be playing them in the 4th round."

When is it anyway? A double Suarez match-up right after his ban? Just checked, before he returns. So 2nd leg against City on the wednesday, 4th round against Utd on the saturday.

Well what the FA cup match does is give Liverpool fans the quick chance
to verbally abuse Patrice Evra.....

just like the United fans will do for Suarez at old Trafford.

It will be unpleasant....unless they are dropped respectively
for those games to prevent any flashpoints.

(I personally wish they are dropped for those respective games
just to take the sting out this ugly episode)

Agreed, though I fear both managers are too stubborn to let that happen. Just think what could be two very good football matches is going to be completely overshadowed, and that just sucks.

Evra and the way he blew the racism thing completely out of proportion and that for someone who used racially offensive language on more than one occasion...

I've been saying this over and over: for Evra this had nothing to do with racism.

Suarez is stupid prick, Liverpool did handle this entirely wrong, but for me it is Patrice Evra who is the main vilain in this soap...what he did is for me morally totally wrong. I see Suarez more as a victim than Evra on this one...(although Suarez ban is justified and could be more severe IMO).
