Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

We're half way through the season bro. Stop hating and don't make rash conclusions either such as stating Downing can't cut it at above mid-table club or the pressure is too much for him etc. as if it's a FACT. You may or may not be right. Time will tell. :)

So meanwhile, I say we be patient and see what he and others like Carroll who will now get an extended run in the team can do. I think both will pleasantly surprise a few from here till the end of the season. Not massively impress but at least pleasantly surprise and show that they DO have what it takes. That's my prediction.

Maybe you are right.....I should not be too harsh...
it's that I get frustrated seeing better players like Bellamy and Maxi
on the bench...

But both Downing and Carroll have scored....

Hoping they will do well....with the new confidence...

Interesting stat....without Suarez... but Bellamy/Gerrard in the
team we score more goals :-)

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

Carroll's got a killing left foot... With Bent and Carroll we can look far more dangerous upfront. Bellamy was amazing tonight btw.
Kuyt should be sold in January, I can't see him fitting in this team anymore.

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

the guy look amatuer , there is always words from fan everywhere and u cant react just like that , if u have to listen what fans say better take one gun with ur self and start shoting everyone in stadium ;)

oh and its possible the guy react like that coz of song what a dick head

EDIT : oh shit i just understand we score 5 , my streaming block so i miss downing goal :A

Agreed...Kuyt's time is up...

Bent and Carroll up front.....hmm...it may work...but both need
good delivery ......which is what we're lacking..

But today Bellamy showed why he should start every match
..his crosses...pace...overall football intelligence...is superb.

Pity he's getting old....

Well, we have to wait for the stat how they performe all together, becouse so far we didn´t saw Bellamy/Gerrard and Suarez together on one field, correct me if i´m wrong...

good win tonight, haven´t seen it unfortunatelly..

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

Gerrard's passing was quite wasteful tonight, just saying ... Shelvey was great, he should start more often.

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

Looks like it was racist abuse towards the Oldham player...

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jan/06/oldham-tom-adeyemi-liverpool

Well this is what happens when the Club go to great extent to support their own players who is accused of racist language..

some idiot fans will think it is ok to do the same or worse.

And guess what...some of them were wearing those silly white Suarez T-shirts........sigh.

oh boy, so now it´s Club´s fault some stupid idiot shout at someone? Do you think club agrees with racism or encouraged fans to shout this shit? I think it´s more a matter of individual failure and i hope it will be punished..

This could happend even without Suarez saga...

The club is not to blame for one individual....

but given the Club's support for a player accused of racist abuse
.....gives only more ammunition to idiots.......
who are already wound up thinking
the club is victimized...that Suarez did no wrong.....
wearing those stupid t-shirts.....

We're in the news for all the wrong reasons.

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

those t-shirts were a sign for the player that our team support´s him in the case - not saying he is unguilty, but more saying he is not a racist wich the team anouncement was all about.. we accepted the 8 match ban, but we don´t accept racism just becouse we had those t-shirts in a warm up before a game...

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

Merseyside Police have confirmed no arrests have been made for racial abuse. Nick Parrot from the BBC, the steward who was in the area and a number of fans have all said no racist abuse was used. The people escorted out were drunk and swearing and "Manc bastard" was shouted.

So, no evidence of racial abuse, actual evidence of something different .... But let's all jump on the bandwagon anyway. Some people are as bad as the "journalists", desperate for scandal. Ridiculous.

Enjoy the rest of the season.

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

Looking at his reaction (and his clear desire to kill one of the Liverpool fans) I'd wager it wasn't the Suarez song that got him angry.

Perhaps it's just a cultural misunderstanding, and using the words the fan did in Liverpool would be okay. Oh wait, they're in Liverpool. Oh well.

Oh f#$k off Ryan! You do realise the hypocrisy you are showing atm?

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

"Manc bastard": nothing wrong with that
"Irish bastard": nothing wrong ???
"Scouse bastard": ????
"Black bastard": !!!

So no evidence of racial abuse? Maybe not, but the same mechanism is used...

I really don't understand the blind hate between Liverpool and Manchester United fans. What happened between those clubs?
It becomes even more daft is this tribalism goes between foreigners for example a Slovakian and somebody from the Bahama's (i'm not targeting Pipa and Beachryan personally, i just want to illustrate something).
I really can't understand why fans of Liverpool couldn't like Man Utd and Man Utd fans could not like Liverpool.

I'm a Spurs fan but i've always loved Arsenal's football... why can't people calm down? It's only football...

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

it´s an individual thing, i don´t hate United, i used to dislike them, but now i realy care more about LFC and not about other teams... you can´t apply actions of one person to whole club or town or country...

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

yeah its only a football but without "hate" this football its shit , no rivality and nothing interesting then

I dont pretend unt fans like Liverpool , if he do for me those fans are gay :P

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

All clubs have fans that are pricks, let's not make this something bigger than it is. I've heard Hillsborough, Munich and Heysel chants at games, all that kind of shit needs stamping out.

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

Thanks for just confirming my last post....Cheers mate.

im not talking about i like singing those song or anything like that , im just talking abour fivality but FAIR one , not dirty , rivality in field and out too but not in way like want to kill

whatever I dont even know why the hell i have to care for explain this to u , if ur united fan and ur happy when Liverpool win and u like this then ur gay ;)

true.

about the rivalry thing, i think United never was n.1 rival for LFC, as this is Everton FC.. My uncle told me back in 70s. or 80s. United and Liverpool were nowhere near big rivals as now..mainly it has to do with United being more succesfull over last 20 years and breaking Liverpool´s record in number of domestic trophy n.1.. Nevertheless..every fan who is sane should know where the borders are, this is after all a game, not something people should feel hurt or something that people should not return from..ever.

Press reports that these are the fans at the centre of the allegations
51aum.jpg

You don't need fans like these at any game.
Daytrippers? WTF are they doing with those hats on?

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

Well written piece tik, this man is a cultured man and can argue very well. The problem is that i don't buy his (very good) argumentation. It sounds like one of these books by Erik Von Däniken (Were the gods cosmonauts?") or like the reasoning of some brilliant negationists who don't believe in the "end solution" (of course we are talking about very less serious facts).

Really? I agree that the majority of his article is about defending Suarez, and he has some digs at Evra which make his article weaker, but what I found interesting was the comments made later on by the football lawyers, the government's position and advise about the FA and the clear possiblity of bias with the judging panel. There are some very valid points made, that aren't about whether Suarez is guilty or not, but the whole system.

Just look at the judging panel, if you take a real life example and you or I are the defendant. In our lives the closest possiblity we would likely have is due to a very serious or fatal car accident in which we were involved. Now would you think you would get a fair trial if the judge had a part-time job at the procecution? That's a serious conflict of interests and unacceptable. So David Gill, current Chief Executive of Utd is fine?

Or that if you got a speeding fine that you didn't agree with, possibly because it wasn't the case, would you find it acceptable that if you wanted to appeal (which is your right) you would risk an even higher fine, which means you are being fined for acting on a basic legal right? I remember a Boro player getting a red card at Anfield a couple of years ago for a silly offence, he appealed and got an extra match ban for it.

Or that the FA procecute, judge and sentence is another obvious flaw in the system.

Do you really think those aren't valid points? And it comes back down to my point about Suarez, it's context and assumptions that have found him guilty. I've already said that I don't mind the ban, but something should be done to make it all transparant and fair for everyone.

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

I agree with your point, but those are not typically anti-Suarez or anti-Liverpool, those things are (sadly) typically football.
The fact that you use an example of a Boro player to prove your point, says it all. It happens to every club, it can happen to any player.

But of course i agree that the way "justice" is practised in football is 19th century and looks to come out of a Charles Dickens novel...

PS: according to the Guardian there was racist abuse yesterday against the Odlham defender. This is sad. I hope Liverpool does the appropriate thing and i would have written the same thing in any other club thread, this is not about Liverpool.

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

another transfer speculations:

Stephen Martin @stephen1martin 12m
#lfc are in negotiations with #brfc over Hoilett. #lfc also in negotiations Monday over a player. Believed to be Sinclair.

edit: Scott Sinclair (Swansea)

Here`s the thing... Once ppl get tired and the cup over flows and patients dies. PPL will stand for what`s right. I remember in SerieA at a Juve match a Ultra attempt to do something daft at the time regular fans were getting tired of not going to matches. They surrounded him and removed him, class! Matches are never really a family event I mean here refs n players get such abuse not racially ,but the filfth language n chants is not fam-friendly I waited until my kids were at least 10  to be expose to such vile . I made the mistake once taking my family to Gay pride Disney day... I was too cheap to leave n ignore all the gaysters around. My wife kept trying ,but who pays attention to the old lady when your trying to impress the kids about mickey , but explaining homos to 9,7 n 5 year old is hard enough. We`ll didn`t mean to turn this abt me...so , until fans get tired of vile fans there needs to be more sensible then unsensible fans or coward fans will just turn the blind eye and tbh their no better than those vile spouting fans. I once asked a fan to stop smoking, me n my sons can`t breathe one said "sorry" the other said "F* off dude...." I grab his cig from his mouth and the fans around me support me by clapping I was tired and my sons saw their dad to something daft but courageous at the same time.

If, those 3 fans who look like fairies at Anfield I would solve that problem quick n sensible calling them out ! "No ! NO! there`s no room for that vile here mate..Shut it or I`ll shut it for you"! Best case you get free lager from ppl, worse case you have to shut it for them. Whatever happen to the Stand up ...Speak Up!!! campaign ?

There is supposed evidence of racial abuse...

From the Guardian...

Witnesses reported seeing two fans wearing Luis Suárez T-shirts – similar to those worn by Liverpool players at Wigan last month, after the Uruguayan was found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra – confronting Adeyemi. A witness who gave evidence to Liverpool officials and the police said: "I was to the right of the Kop and the No11 turned to walk away after a tackle. I heard a single voice shout, 'You fucking black bastard.' He spun round with shock on his face and started pointing at the crowd, from where the shout had come."

Nobody is on a bandwagon.......
there is no need thanks to our club's ridiculous
stance on defending Suarez at the cost of tarnishing our club's
great name across the world.

Again....not saying that LFC or the majority of the fans are to blame...

but when your club sets the example that they will support a player found
guilty of racial abuse....then it's hard not to let some idiots take it to the next level.

But that's my point Gerd, and it's the one I've been making since this mess came up. It's about a fair, transparant system. This time Suarez and Liverpool are "the victims". I say "victims", as really we still can't be 100% sure whether Suarez is or isn't guilty and whether he deserves the ban. And Liverpool's treatment of the case has also been questionable. However technically, which is what the basis should be for these decisions / cases, everything I've read seems to fall within grey area's, and the final conclusions are based on assumptions and context. That's what I'm questioning. I've already stated a number of times that I'm not bothered about Suarez being banned, as he's a bit of a tw@t and needs to sort himself out. But that gets ignored in any discussion because it's easier to just generalise anything posted in here, a Liverpool thread, from a Liverpool fan.

Instead everyman and his dog comes in this thread and anything that can be construde as "backing Liverpool/Suarez" is invalid and ignorant and results in the likes of even Ryan posting really offensive comments. His post is saying everyone from Liverpool or those who have an affilition to Liverpool FC condone racism! That's complete bullsh!t. But hey, let's not let valid points which go above Liverpool or club loyalties stop people (who were probably moaning about the FA the last time they got done) coming in here and having a go because apparently we are now all racists by association!

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

lot of rumours about Hoilett lately..

im hearing a fee of 5million plus add ons scott you heard anything similar ?

close to being done but the fee was mentioned a couple of days ago no idea if its increased or not but that was the last fee i heard

Hoilett has last 6 months untill end of contract with Blackburn, we apparently started with 4m bid and probably face competition in Tottenham...

apparently the talks go on right now...

Re: Liverpool Thread(I Just Can't Get Enough!!)

Hoilett would be a great addition, I really like him. And the transfer could easily go through since Blackburn are not willing to let him go for free this summer.

I also heard a lot of rumors about that Colombian striker Martinez, but I highly doubt we will sign someone before the January deadline.
