In the next patch they should fix the finesse r2 shooting. For me this is simply broken and something that is really missing in shooting and scoring. I want to score goals that bend in not just sledgehammer ones. At the moment every shot from outside the box is the same. No curlers.
I hope they add that at least in Pes 20.

Interestingly enough, most of my goals are curlers as my guy isn't fast enough to get into the box. I end up bending it instead.

And as far as dribbling is concerned, I have no issues getting past defenders and making them miss. They just chase me down as I'm slow as all hell lol

I´ve read somewhere (probably on here in one of the edit threads) that it only happens when you enter the stadiums menu before starting a match.
If you don´t do so, matches are at night. That statement was made by a few users on here.

I played just friendly offline matches on Superstar/Top Player, PA1 - FM, Gamespeed 0/-1. I experimented a bit, but it was just great, free, flowing, with fouls, shots, variety...
As I mentioned, tonight I started a European Cup. In the last game of the group stage it was Croatia against Serbia (spicy duell, I know, but well, at least national teams don't have rivals, aight?)
I replayed this same match 5 times, with different speedsetting, difficultys, 14 minutes, FM and PA1. I changed tactics, I know how to defend, be patient, cut pass lines, ally pressure... I play KOMAMIS footys since 24 years now, played football activeley 15, watch football since 30 years.
The pattern was always the same - the CPU team started a firework, which I just couldn't do anything about it. In the first half they are up 2 or 3 goals. Then I regain possession, of course, AI tones it down after their comfortable lead. Every match i sneaked one in or maybe two, but never for the equilazer. Every time before I scored I knew it was coming, so as they did. This is very frustrating and makes me angry because in friendly mode I almost never made such an experience. I've lost an won games, but it never felt that odd like in this EC. Furthermore, FM in Friendly's feels way more free. In the cup games passes are very slow on FM.
I understand, that Konami wants to give us a "challenge", but in that way it just ridiculous.
In some situations you basically loose control over your players.
This post means really no offense towards people, who don't belive in the AI Boosting /Scripting thing.

But for those who have the same opinion - I found a petition on change.org, I didn't started it, but subscribed. It's very current. And yet, it sums up my opinion very well (additionally refering to MYClub Momentum, which I don't play for exactly the same reason).

welcome to the ive-finally-played-enough-pes-to-realise-or-feel-the script club.

i played a master league match in 2018 and replayed it a few times. scoreline pretty much the same each time.

i signed some petition back in 2016.

the best form of petition now is not to buy. hopefully it wakes them up next year.

I believe there is scripting, specially in ML.
The first time I realized it, was on PES 2010 and it followed with every next release.

It was so noticeable, because AI pulled off combinations where I absolutely literally couldn´t do nothing to prevent them to score...no matter what.
Ping pong passing, goal hits the net.
Sometimes with strange behaviour from my defenders, like stumbling over the ball, walking slowly behind the ball which is rolling over the sideline - even I am hammering R1 - which leads to a corner for AI and scores, etc.

I would quit and replay those matches and with the 3rd or 4th time, the outcome was finally different.
Scripting is dynamic...means...in some matches it´s quite extreme and in some it´s not.

However...here in PES 2019 I haven´t noticed it that extreme yet.
I play on professional/regular, full manual, speed -1.
All the goals I have conceded have been comprehensable so far.

Except for the COM challenges in myclub where some matches automatically are set on top player or superstar.
Those matches have been awful. I never touch those difficulties...full manual and professional is challenge enough for me.
In PES 2017 and 2018 I had a few awkward ML games on professional too, but not that many.
This year though, I can´t really remember that I had one of these.

But maybe they are coming when I made it to the EL/CL tournament.
I hope not.

I've experienced the ML script. Proffessional level first 8 league and cup games have been very similar. Won first game but then lost every game since 1-0. Concede an early goal and just couldn't score no matter what. The last game i tried something different and used manual override button to pass and shoot. In this game i managed to equalise and then go 2-1 up . AI equalises on a 1 on 1 situation. On 88 I score again 3-2. Then from kick off long ball out wide flick on , 1st time onto box 3-3 . Barcelona would of been proud. I'm going to stick with it but not as much fun as league mode currently

I can`t describe how much enjoy this game post patch. Playing master league gives me good old pes feeling. Outside the pitch really is nowhere near enjoyable but on the pitch this game is awesome, like bipolar game
My players started to feel tyred becouse I play them regularly every week and even if some of them have full stamina bar they quickly get tyred if you use them. When you make substitution around 70th minute and fresh player comes in literally is like injecticting fresh blood full of adrenaline. I play with Lyon, replacing Dembele with fresh Terrier in the attack was real joy to play with, he was one step faster ahead of tyred opponent defenders which increases chances to score. Not to mention substitutions for midfield players how they can be useful during battles and winning the ball quickly.
Had amazing matches last night but UCL match against Rangers was something different, they literally win every long ball, hit two woodworks and score screamer against me. I have to change the tactic to had a chance, game ended 1-1 but was really really good match. I love this game for what it is, it`s not perfect, there can be made very little things that can be easily implemented which will boost immersion. ML needs overhaul, it is a must for next year game. Happy

the AI in ML are possessed from the opening kick off and for me nearly always score very early on and you can't do much about it

Kind of the same way I see it. ML needs an overhaul, but still I´m able to enjoy it.
I set myself little goals.
I want to make it far in the premier league, so I can get into the CL or EL.
I´m not very happy with my right winger Helder Costa. I want a faster one with a strong left food to do the Robben move. Now I found one...his name is Bailey, 22 years old, very fast, strong left foot and many abilities.. But they want 30 Million for him. I only have 11 Million at the moment.
And trading in Helder Costa seems not to be an option. I want that guy though...let´s see if I make it.

Then I have Berahinho in my Stoke team. Actually I never let him play, as I already signed new better players.
But every time I sub him in, he makes a great match and even scores very often.
Seems like he fits to the team very well. Now I don´t know what to do, as I actually wanted to sell him.

I signed Lennon´s rebirth...16 years old. Of course...this is strange and unrealistic.
But I always liked this player in the older PES releases. It´s fun playing with him and I keep imagining him being his little step brother or something. It helps a little bit getting over the unreal part...lol.

Yesterday he was out of stamina and started pulling his leg. I subbed him immediately.

There are a few little things that really shine through.
What I am missing though, is penalties. They literally never happen....or maybe like once after 1000 matches.
Whenever my player gets fouled in the box, the ref calls the foul against him.

This needs to be balanced out better.

Had some nice games for a chance. won 3 drawn 1 to get end season and get promotion

No. It just determines, whether you get sacked or not. Gameplay is the same.

I could clearly "feel/see" momentum/boost pre patch, where there was pass-pass-pass-low_cross-tap-goal.
After the patch it is much less noticable and much more enjoyable.
Had another 4 matches in my ML.
(-1 speed, Prof, manual, 15mins, Wolves)
Arsenal (away) 1-2 Loss
Fulham (home) 0-2 Loss
Cardiff (away) 1-0 Win
Tottenham (home) 1-2 Loss
Staying on 12th place in the League Table.
Honestly dont remember when I was mid table before.
And the last match against Tottenham was a slaughter hause. I never had such an aggressive game in any other Pes!
COM had 5 yellow cards and Dele Alli was sent off. It was so, so enjoyable, even tho I lost.
The fact that RdR2 is sitting there waiting, and any chance for an hour or two on PS4 I get, Im playing PES, says a lot.

Ps. I signed this petition anyway. The less momentum/boost/scripting, whatever tou wanna call it, the better. We should lose when we play crap or make mistakes, not when its "our turn to lose".

I think the game is fun and I am doing quite well in ML as QPR with the generic players on professional, currently sitting on 3rd about halfway through the season.

But this "momentum" or "scripting" that they apply in literally every match has turned into a travesty. It's always the same (minus perhaps the odd "freak" exception): whoever scores first will get their players handicapped so that the suddenly boosted opposition has a better chance of equalizing.

I understand, they need to create some ebb and flow, supposedly in order to keep the human player interested (though I would be way more interested in a match-up that would rely on stats and daily form alone and would also prevent crappy second division teams like Hull City to play like ManCity all of the time ); but this is often bordering on nannying: Here, human, I am preparing the pitch so that you can equalize. You might want to try a header. They are auspicious within the next 2 minutes. After that I will have the computer clear all of the crosses again.

Worst of all, this leads to a feeling that if you achieve something (like score a goal) it's not because it's a logical result of your good skills, but because the COM orchestrated it by handicapping the opposition (and vice versa). This is also the reason why lately I am getting very little excitement out of the goals I score (the other reason being that they are all kind of same).

I know this will all be less of an issue the better your team gets. That's why I keep playing. I am just surprised that a lot of people – many of them veteran players – still deny, that "scripting" (or whatever you want to call it) exists. It's practically in your face.

Thats the thing. Before patch id say - definetely. I can clearly see that shit.
Post patch its more sensible.
Pre patch, when 85th minute started, COM was changing into superhumans and I was loosing 9/10 matches, even if I was winning up to this point.
I dont have this anymore. And as for handicaping opponent after a goal:
Two days ago I played one match, forgot who I played against. Decent team, but not top shelf. I went 2-0 down before break. So started adjusting tactics to equalise. 75th minute I added gegenpress and went full attack. Initially they were against the wall and I was all over them, but then they moved back, parked the bus, and got another 2 goals from the counters. Lost that match 4-0. But it looked and felt natural. Result doesnt really mirror the match. It was a very tight game. I risked, went full in and they used it.

I was thinking exactly this on the way to work this morning, I've not played in the French league for a long time and with Thierry having trouble, it's a nice little scenario.

Is Monaco's stadium in the game yet? Are there many other unique French stadia in the game?

I also need to get a latest-data-pack option file downloaded - although after spending an entire couple of evenings sorting out an option file not long ago (removing all the duplicates) and then playing the game a handful of times and thinking "I really don't like this", I might just play it without one...

Pesuniverse should have V3 available from bronze membership hub, and thats free. I havent seen any duplicates when I used it. They had all the tutorials which boxes to tick to avoid it.

Yes Monaco's ground is now in the game with Data Pack 2. But that's it, no other French stadia.

I am also playing with the patch. Yes, I also have deviations of the "norm" but in my case they feel more like the computer has a temporary seizure. I won an away match against Reading 5-0 with literally all of my shots (even the ones from outside) going in and the COM displaying a level of incompetence that made me look up whether I didn't accidentally change the difficulty level. Most of the matches, however, are tight: many draws, 1-0s, 0-1s, 2-1 at the most. All of them feel "orchestrated" in a way, no matter whether I win, lose, or draw, which kind of takes out the fun.

But it's ok, I can live with it. I think this kind of pitch tilting it is so pronounced because I am playing with the PES-default players (Castledine, Vrany etc.). I really think the program compares the TS values, and that's currently between the 60s and 70s in my case, and then it reaches the conclusion – based on these values – that this should not be more than a draw or at the utmost a win or loss by one goal. Based on the experience I have with past PESs, once your team reaches a TS of 80 or above, you'll be easily dominating things and the feeling that "things are decided for you" slowly fades away (though never to a level where it disappears altogether).

Not at all - it's just more of a challenge (the ML). As I said, the last time I slaved over setting up an option file for 2019, I was annoyed to play the game and immediately dislike it - but it's undoubtedly more difficult against the AI. But this isn't the comparison thread...

Well, I totally agree with your post. Couldn't explain it better.

I have to say that I didn't play it pre-patch.
But the scripting is obvious right now to me. At least in the Cup Mode. I didn't tried Master League yet, because I wait for V4 Of. But now my hopes ain't to high.

I can only repeat myself, it's a different game in Friendly's. But that was the same in previous versions. Friendly's were always most free from scripting. But I don't want to play Friendly's all the way.

Loaded up PES, clicked past the intro screen... it immediately popped up with a message telling me id lost my first 3 ML games 4-0.. id not even picked a team let alone started a save.

Momentum is a right killer.

@Chris Davies - i just read on Pesuniverse website, that when Konami added Chinese League, it did create some duplicates and V4 is supposed to sort this out. But I dont think V4 will be free to download for another while, since its not out for paid members yet.
Having said all that - maybe its clustered when you play outside Europe. Im playing EPL and havent noticed any weird players. Transfers in my ML were also quite subtle comparing to the usual. I didnt buy any players myself, just playing with default squad, as Wolves have a lot of young, promising players.

Finally I started a ML with Valenciennes, Top Player, PA0, -1 speed.
First matches on that Cup pre seson, I won Barcelona ahah. Not easy at all! Played very defensive, all my attacks were useless. But on a mistake from Barça´s defense, I was able to win the ball and run alone into the box, taped it in and surprised the GK eheh. Really felt good. Rest of the match was a rain of shots and crosses from Barça but with no luck.
Next I lost 2-1 against Basel and 3-0 against Inter. Really no chance against stronger teams, and everything felt realistic enough.

First match on the league. Again, hard match against Lorient. They´re a pretty good side, match was tight and fair. Actually made it 0-1, from a cross and a header on the first post. Soon after, (scripted or not) they made 1-1 and 2-1. They had plenty of oportunities, so the result was quite fair, except for the fact that their two goals resulted from absolute mistakes from the GK, who fumbled the ball into the goal himself. Didn´t felt cheated yet, TS has some impact on this, and also I was defending a lot. I do feel I have a chance for better results, and about the GK mistakes? Well, ask that to Loris Karius about the script against him on the last Champions League final.
