PES 2019 Discussion Thread (PS4, XB1)

Yeah it's like I said before. Defending in Pes 19 is overpowered especially in human VS. Human because all you have to do is constantly press X and even if you have a good idea to wrong foot the defender with a dribbling the AI just helps the player and tackles the sh** out of you. For me it doesn't take enough skill to Defend in Pes 19.
It reminds me a bit of Fifa the last years where it was simply impossible to dribble past a player without a skill move. It's not that bad in Pes 19 because sometimes it works but I get frustrated a lot online when I see that the opponent has absolutely no skill in defending and still takes the ball from my forwards with ease

That's also the reason why CPU doesn't dribble past your players as well. The only way CPU scores against me is ping pong passing and 1 touch shots.

next patch i just want a bit more shot error and more pens. Dreamland would also be kill the zoom on live broadcast.
i really dont see the issues with dribbling, you can beat players using the right players and momentum. Also i really dont see much if any of this AI ping pong passing Top level difficulty. Even against PSG as villa in the ML i didnt see any.

Oh so well written, mate!! :)

Hmmm, thank you I guess... unless you´re being sarcastic about my poor english ahahah. If that´s the case, then I´m sorry loool.

Dont know dude...I love dribling on PES2018. The way you can wrong foot and broke ankles. The way you unbalance your marker without having to use tricks, just with no touch drible.

In PES 2019 demo it dont seems possible. The markers follow you like a fifa, like a mirror. There is no body weight, no physics. Am I wrong? Its been a while I dont touch PES 2019 demo.

Maybe it´s more of a momentum thing, but yeah, on higher levels forget dribling past defenders with ease.

Maybe I should try Top Level for a while. On Pro I´m sure there´s much less ping pong, mainly because it´s more responsive and it´s easier to position you players and cut passing lanes. Cpu has to work his way out to the goal. I´ve seen literally all types of moves, high crosses, through balls, long shots, chip shots etc... it´s a beauty honestly.
If I can defend properly on Top Player then yes, I believe CPU won´t ping pong passes in a abusive way. Will try it later tonight.

@rockstrongo used to say Top Player gives you much better manual passes as apparently manual passes are bit handicaped on Prof to level up chances.
I dont honestly know how much truth is in it.
I used to play Manual on Top Player before the patch but low crosses were killing me.
After patch i switched to Superstar and pass assist 1 and had fun for a while, now im back to manual but i also dropped to profesional. If I see that im doing well on profesional ill bump it up to Top Player as I didnt test it after patch.

Yeah I jumped right into superstar because I was playing like that on 2017, and was having a great deal of fun. I found that I had to switch to professional and even though sometimes it looks easy (only at some points of a random match), I still have a big challenge to win. In fact, I still couldn´t win any of the competitions I´ve played, CL and International Cup using Portugal, were I lost to France on penalties, after a dramatic comeback (france was leading the match 2-0 almost until the very end). The great deal is that, unlike previous editions, I actually have to be carefull on defence, cause if I play to soft, I´ll be punished, wich is nice!

In the next patch they should fix the finesse r2 shooting. For me this is simply broken and something that is really missing in shooting and scoring. I want to score goals that bend in not just sledgehammer ones. At the moment every shot from outside the box is the same. No curlers.
I hope they add that at least in Pes 20.

Yeah but CPU can't beat players though. I still haven't seen a single goal that isn't a ping pong passing and a 1 touch shot goal. It's the same as FIFA 19. It seems like they both use the same AI.

PES 2019 free for a limited time on Xbox One.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-AU/p/p...time/bnm7dm2n4mwl?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

Installing now. I don't know if it locks up later or stays there. I hope it stays.

Edit: Actually it says 'play for limited time' now. Nevermind. Still better than nothing for a little while.

free crack?

holy moly...

this will seriously test my resolve

reminder to self ...
First rule of MyClub : Don't play MyClub
Second rule of MyClub : Don't play MyClub
Third rule of MyClub : Don't play MyClub

signed Fernandes as gold agent. then came here. typed the above. switched off the machine.

that was fricking close.

Yeah they worked perfectly in PES 17. Since then they've been floaty futile garbage. Now it's just one less way to score in an already limited game. Needs fixing asap.

Back to hating PA1 online. But it depends so much who you play. You just know it will be a shitfest when you see PSG/Barca/Juve. The go to thing this year is to put three players upfront with all three as SS and then spam the crap out of through balls or just fast ping it up to them. BORING.

About CL games at daylight:

I´ve read somewhere (probably on here in one of the edit threads) that it only happens when you enter the stadiums menu before starting a match.
If you don´t do so, matches are at night. That statement was made by a few users on here.

I can´t test it yet in my ML, as I am in premier league for the first time and not qualified for the CL.
But I guess I´m safe, as I never enter the stadiums menu...at least not in ML mode.

No doubt about, that this has to be fixed.

good explanation about mixing difficulties and PA. if someone want to play more random and have a feeling that actually is playing against human then professional/manual is way to go. if you really want a challenge to test your skills which somehow enter arcade part of the game then play on superstar. as for top player, after the patch it`s more difficult than pre patch, not really for me right now on Master League becouse team spirit make the game even harder. For exibithion matches top player is really great.
btw some strange thing I noticed, when team spirit is low, around 60 why that affect players abilities for passing and shooting? Fekir on exibithion was great shooter, Depay also, had scored good screamers with them but on start of the master league they shoot like amateurs. it will be fair to restrict movement, missplaced passes and some stuff like that but not shooting power and passing. there are too many ideas to improve this game instantly, they should work with comunity more closer and implement simple but usefl staff...
btw I am enjoying the game more and more on the pitch, every game is different :)

By the way has anyone ever seen a dipping shot? They were advertised a lot but I've never seen one. Maybe it's because I play on manual shooting. But shooting in general could be just so much better. The guys at Konami should watch a F2 Freestylers video on YouTube to see what great variety shooting has. :D

Straight after the patch in the first test game AI had two. Since then I havent seen any to be honest... maybe they forgot...

I've did one just basically minutes ago when I used Shanghai to quickly test a thing.. with Hulk of course. No idea how I did it tho, I just shoot from outside (basic) and that was it. It stand out to me too because I've indeed not seen many.

Dipping shots are tied to the player traits/skills. If you're player doesn't have it you won't see it.
Also, (and I may be wrong about this) sometimes playing with manual passing/shooting etc deactivates certain traits so you won't see them at all unless you're on basic. I'm not a 100% certain if that's the case this year but I know this was a thing in previous titles.

Got a online divisions WDL record of 8/7/16 and Im stuck in division 9 with a 400 rating. I'm sticking to my guns and keeping it manual in the face of some pretty awful players with some heavy assistance. It's funny but I've managed to not let these things bother me anymore and i play purely for my own enjoyment. I've stumbled across some great teams to play as. Playing for 0-0s as Burnley, counter attack with crystal palace or Nantes, sometimes I get adventurous and play attacking football with England or Leicester but usually come away with a heavy defeat. Yesterday I had my greatest achievement to date beating PSG with West Bromwich Albion takong me out of the relegation zone of division 9. Just about to start my new D9 season and hoping for the best!

Well i just got used to choose between day/night and weather type just arbitrarily as i feel like for ML, cup, league, exhibition or online games.

It'd be amazing if it'd have "real" kickoff times, shouldn't be that complicated.
Wouldn't it be VERY easy to add an option in the team edit section where you setup banners, rivals and other stuff just to setup "Home games preferrered kickoff time" and just choose from 3 options like Day/Afternoon/Night?
This setting SHOULD also be fairly easy to implement in the League / Cups structure wouldnt it?

Additionally, it would actually be amazing if they were able to replicate local weathers depending of actual time of day, wouldn't it?
would it be so complicated to program that?

Don´t know if it was in your time, but long time ago, on PGR (Project gotham Racing) if you had an internet connection, game would automotically choose time of day and weather according to the real time weather and hour at that precise location. Example, if your next race was in London, and IRL was 3 pm, raining, then the game would recreate that.

I also remember that PGR was kind of revolutionary at the time, best racing graphics, awesome weather system, wet roads and all... this was 17 years ago. Kinda lets us thinking what the hell happened to the so called "new generation consoles".

I always noticed that since they advertised "powerfull GPU consoles" they started to worry only with graphics and presentation, visual effects etc. Before, that was never an issue and the main focus was on story, details and gameplay. The only company that already was worrying too much on graphics was GT´s Polyphony. Lovely game, super photorealistic at the time, but so dull and no depth at all on career mode.

Yes! that's it, i remember something like that already existed, i just cant understand why this is not implemented since we already are pretty mucho online most of the time.

How would it be so difficult to detect a timeframe and an overall weather type depending of stadium and map it to simple menu options?

I think customers are to blame here, to be honest. Majority of people, as we discused here before, dont want realistic, difficult games with depth.
Our generation did not expect graphics. We were using our imagination in most cases. So developers were trying to stimulate this imagination by story and gameplay.
Current generation doesnt use imagination the way we did. They want everything on a plate. Beautiful looking and, sad to say, the more simple (stupid??) the better...

Yep, and this is a growing problem on our society. Think about it, videogames could help kids, teens and even adults on thinking development, but instead, all I see in my school, are students hurrying to get home to play the likes of FPS shooters, with almost no story at all, and definitly no challenge or mind games. It´s just, go from point A to point B and kill everything in the way. This new generation wont fight for anything. They all want free stuff, like you said, everything on a plate because that´s what they are used to, also thanks to most parents that think that giving them a very good childood is getting them to have everything. As a teacher, I let my students play some games here and there, and sometimes I try to push the boundaries, raising the dificulty of a certain game. As soon as I do that, they quit, and see no reason why they should try something that it´s not easy. Really really a big problem and we will see the results on a couple decades, where we´ll live amongst hordes of zombies... just stupid, dumb, ignorant zombies.

Sorry for the offtopic, but yeah, this makes things easier for videogame companies... just throw in a great lighting system, great color palete, perfect rendered faces, and the "zombies" will love it!

It´s like:
Konami "this year is really a great edition. I can zoom in and see perfectly rendered shoe laces moving while you´re running! It´s huge!!"
Us: "What about gameplay improvements?"
Konami: "Wait until you see those laces on passes, shots, etc... you´ll see what we mean!"
Us: "what about master league?"
Konami: "I mean, you can even see that laces get wet on raining weather!"

I salute you good sir! That would have made me INSANE...

Oh my good Christ. Does MyClub get drastically less shit when your team chemistry goes up beyond 70-odd? Assisted players literally don't have to do anything, you can just pass through players and get a shot. What's the point in me putting 4 players around Mane and blocking passing lanes if he'll just get it anyway?

I wish you could get games searching for PA0. A couple of days ago I could get online divisions games, but nothing since. So I've tried MyClub but I simply cannot get on with the fact you have to find a manager with the right tactics, otherwise you're fucked. The tactics is the bit I want to do.
