Ultimate Fighting Championship (Xbox 360, PS3)

I really enjoy this game, it's such a great feeling to knock someone out. Been playing career mode on Advanced and it's pretty good. Menus are really slow and saving is annoying with all the questions and flashing of popups.

First impression is really good, I can see why this gets good reviews.

Had some good matches as well. I did have one guy do the quitting cheat though after a good battle which i won by submission
 
Should be getting this tommorow unless anyone can vouch for Morrissons selling the game today?

I'm in career mode at the moment on Advanced level, playing as Kimbo Slice (my created player). So far I have a record of 6-0-0 and it's been pretty straightforward, all by way of knockout. I've concentrated my efforts on strength and stamina true to Kimbo's fighting style and it's been paying off big time.

However, I've got Andre Arlovski at UFC 113 - absolutely bricking it.
 
I've never watched UFC before, this game sounds good though.

Would I have to know a lot about UFC to enjoy the game?
 
I don't know anything about UFC and I like it. It brings out the natural killer instinct :SMUG:
I've watched UFC a couple of times but it's too extreme for me. I like K1 though or whatever it is called, the one like boxing with kicking allowed that eurosport has.
 
I'm in the exact same boat as Rob here. With all you guys raving about it, and having good fights online too it's very tempting...

Yeh you'll be able to enjoy it no doubt and after a while will learn all the buttons, only downside is the "tactical side" thats just natural from your opinion. someone who watches football for example can change their formation or how they will set out but someone who doesnt can still play and enjoy it but won't have the tactics nailed down.
 
I have had 2 cunts quit after i won now

The last one was a good 3 round fight as well with a late Knee KO from the clinch by me

I had that too. Was playing a Lesnar (Me) v Mir matchup and Mir came straight out of the blocks and rocked me with a superman punch straight away. I was on my back defending for my life; finally stood up caught one of his punches and subbed him with an armbar. The cunt quit literally two seconds before I was awarded the win so it didn't count. The best turn around I've had in a match yet.

Oh and I submitted Arlovski in the end when I FINALLY managed to take him down. So unlike Kimbo Slice, but effective. Those lessons with St Pierre really paid off as that guy is one tough cookie to beat. Unbeaten so far in my career; I'm so close to retiring unbeaten and getting that gold trophy I can't wait :SMUG:.
 
in career mode when it comes up, lets get someone in 2 train with you. you flick through the camps pick liddel or gsp or whoever. then how do u train with them or does it affect your stats? when i pick someone nothing seems 2 happen?
 
When you pick a training camp that focuses on one of your fighting skills, it'll be added to the calendar so be sure you don't miss it the week it happens.

Then you go through the tasks of the camp and it boosts the fighting style you selected, which enables you to move from level 1 to level 2 to level 3, and with each leap, you obtain new moves & skills in the particular fighting style.
 
I have taken the plunge and bought this today! Now installing to my HD. Hopefully I will enjoy it :)). Seeing as I don't know anything about UFC I will probably make myself in career mode and try and learn as I go along.

thats the best way to learn, just remember to use the training and also the action lists during the game and you'll pick it up in no time!

i'm gutted, i'm picking this up after work, but i won't get to play on it as i'm away for the wekend with my better half!
 
When creating your fighter, do you guys base it on yourselves or make up someone?

I guess the same goes for FIFA BAP as well, do you model the player on yourself there?

I always tend to create characters with my name and likenesses :)
 
I created Kimbo Slice and am fighting in the heavyweight division. It's getting really tough now. Even though I beat Arlovski yesterday I had a rematch with him as the credits were enticing enough, and he knocked me clean out in the first round. Horrible.

On another note, how is the online lag now the game is out? Has the performance increased at all?

i usually base the player on myself, i'm interested to see what weight class i'll go in to, cause i'm 6'2" and weigh about 190 lbs.
 
on another note,

i don't know whether to join the tournament, i get stupidly competetive and probably will get my arse handed to me, which will lead to me not enjoying the game online.

what level of difficulty does everyone play on?, i'm just interested really.

I'm rubbish at fighting games but i'm entering for a laugh and the hope that I might get lucky with a KO punch :D

You guys forgot Jamesy so I added him back in :)). Created myself, now time to go to Career!
 
Erm, how do I start a career with a created fighter!?

In the career menu there is New Fighter, which creates a new fighter so it's not that. Fighter Templates which creates a new fighter using some default templates so it's not that. And Copy Fighter Data which does show my created fighter, but is this right?
