Being offered two jobs...
Got an induction and training session for a Cardroom dealer job today whcih is £6 per an hour but it's run on a zero hour contract and the cardroom has been running quiet lately... thus meaning I could get sent home without pay but I would have a contract until the end of the year and could, possibly could train for my gaming license meaning I could legally deal blackjack, roulette and 3 card poker as well as the final table of the tournament poker along with the cash games.
Secondly my father rings me offering me a job with his company for the summer which involves working at his quarry, just basically weighing each truck as they come back with stone, rubble etc from the bottom of the quarry price it up on an invoice sheet. But I have a deadline from my father to either accept or refuse the job by midday today and he is not budgeting on that... I'd get paid for whatever hours I'd work with my Dad's company no matter if its quiet or busy, but the problem is after summer would I be able to find another job with the same pay rate as I'm sure the cardroom can easily find a replacement for me, considering this recession...
Oh I'd work nights at the cardroom possibly from 7-8pm to midnight 2am at the latest with the cash table actually running until 6am but as I said it's been quiet, while with my father I'd start early from 7am until 4-5pm and get paid regardless..
I start searching for a job and 2 come at once that you both like ARGH and that's the unwanted bonus of trying not to piss my father off by refusing his job.
In an ideal world I'd like my father to let me delay my decision until Thursday morning so I can see how tomorrow's shift at the cardroom goes, but he's adamant that I make my decision by lunchtime.
Help guys?
