The Retro-PES Corner

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it solved that problem, however the problem is now with all the division 2/Championship teams when using PES Edit 3.8. All teams stats are rated E and no players for the teams at all.
Brother I don't use any patch I am making 2025 OF for Pes 2010

Well I do get this warning when I am loading every Pes game for 2010-2017. I mean it is running good all of them, but recent ones on low graphics. It also crashes when I load BAL on 2010.

Yeah must be then the graphics card driver probably missing, or your graphics card is too new that is not compatible with the old game not sure if there's a solution for that, i think you should google and see if you find anything related to it

I bought this Pc 6 years ago so it is probably graphics card missing. Thanks anyway

P.S. this glitch happened once so I really hope it is like a 1 time thing, because the Pes 2010 does not run badly on my PC

You need an external graphic to run it. The message from your previous post is clear eventhough you can run the game with lowest settings. Just get 2nd hand VGA card since you mostly play older games.

The problem with the dude above is he's not having external vga only onboard graphics that comes from the CPU. So your video is kinda useless unless you have ext VGA, for example from the video he had RTX 3070, lol.

Hello friends. I'm asking for your help, because I know that there are legendary PES fans and brilliant editors here.

I'm in a dilemma. :CONF:
It's been 4 years since I started a huge project to improve PES 2013 "using PESEdit 6.0", which is based on the 2013/14 season. I've already added tons of faces, kits, boots, and extra players (taken from the J-League DLC of Winning Eleven 2013).
It's practically a remaster, a collector's gold version.

There are several young, generic players to be used in the Master League. European and South American.

There are 3 options:
1 - Keep the originality generic ML players.

2 - Or replace them with others who were young at the time? Who are not present in the game (I replaced generic players with real ones preserving a low overall average).
For example:
Thomas Strakosha at 17 years old.
Munir El Haddadi, age 17.
Leander Dendoncker, age 17.
Alexander Sørloth, age 17.

3 - Or, I keep the generic ML, and add extra players in the creation mode. Obs.: But they won't be promises in ML for you or the CPU to hire.

What do I do? I'm open to suggestions.

If it was me, I would definitely enjoy option 2! It's always amazing to have these kind of "What if"-scenarios with real players in their youth.

To be honest, I am also a little biased here, because I really dislike the new names introduced for the Master League defaults and the youth teams from 2013 and forward. They seem... weird and generic compared to what we had in previous installments.

During the lockdown and for a year or two afterwards, my brothers and I played a lot of PES 2008 on the PS2.

We mainly played the Champions League, Europa League, World Cup, and Euros, with the three of us competing in the same group during the group stage. It was a lot of fun and is definitely my favourite PES. That said, I’ve become really good at it and rarely lose to the AI on the hardest difficulty, it's safe to say that the AI has effectively become my bitch.

To make it more challenging, I often pick smaller teams, but I enjoy playing as the underdog anyway.

Master League, on the other hand, was far too easy, even on the hardest settings. It was a bit of a challenge initially with players like Espimas, Minanda, Ruskin, and the rest, but we all know that turds must be flushed away eventually.

I’m looking for a version of PES or Winning Eleven on the PS2 that offers more challenging AI. Does anyone have any recommendations?

At the moment, I’m using OPL on the PS2 and recently tried Winning Eleven 6 Final Evolution and Winning Eleven 7 International. The gameplay wasn’t bad, but finding a decently patched version has been hard work. Because changing all the background menus and names of the master league default players is a top idea! (Not really).

Unless someone wants to take a similar approach to the way unlicensed Dutch players were named in earlier PES games e.g. Oranges001 etc... and name the master league default players Turd1, Turd2, Turd3 etc.... I could consider getting behind that idea.

But any tips or recommendations would be much appreciated!

Konami should have never ever had to got rid of World Tour (PS2) and Champions Road (Wii) plus International Challenge imo.

WE 2008 is the same game as PES 2008 but slower and with a 6th difficulty stars on the WE-SHOP and a bit slower.
Now i found JLWE2008 more balanced and some quick retouch make it, the AI seems less versatile there's less space leave by the CPU opponent. Almost perfect if you like PES 2008.

Some says (about PES 2008) it's a Pes 6.5 i don't think they really tried it.
To get the difference, simply play 3 games on the 2008 and make a step back on PES 6 and you will feels directly the difference, i won't wrote them one by one as it's boring for me to write and for you to read lol.

Well the switching between the 2 games is exactly what happened to me, i didn't played PES 6 for a long time and was shocked by how "easy" it was to pass through everything and how super-heroes were the (offensive) players.

I agree about those names, they look like the devs were either desperate to make them sound as unrealistic as possible or else they just laid their head on the keyboard halfway through typing each name :)

You refer to the original Master League players as turds?!? Blasphemy! :DD Whenever I play I try to keep them going as long as possible, favouring them over more highly rated real players if I can afford to, and sometimes even buy the rejuvenated 17 year old versions a year or two after they retire (this is in PES earlier than 2008 by the way, I've only ever been able to play the 'next gen' aka bad version of PES 2008 rather than the highly rated PS2 version so never played a full season).

What I liked about PES 08 in PS2 almost 15 years ago is the team rating you'd get at ML.

You'd need a certain amount of supporters and points to sign top players like Ronaldinho. If you weren't an AA team, starting from E or D if I'm not mistaken, you wouldn't be able to get him.

Something interesting about PES 08, at least in the PS2 version, is that youd have European Qualifiers for the Euros on Cup mode.

Yes, you could actually play the Euro 08 qualifiers with participating national teams. The only playable NTs available were the ones from Europe A and B as Europe C, containing trams such as San Marino, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Armenia, Bosnia, and so, were unplayable having fake named players instead of the original ones, as per usual. It worked exactly the same as PES 06 International Challenge calling-up a 18-man squad before having a 23-man squad after qualifying for the finals - Group Stage.

The Shop was also different having Bundesliga based players that you could buy - especially the ones that were not represented in the game via NT or playable clubs. Interesting to see how Konami dealt with EA's blockage of the Bundesliga, albeit the DFB is not associated to FIFPro until this day which made it impossible have the Bundesliga back.

I'm unaware if the Euro qualies carried tiself into PES 09 and later editions at PS2 level. As far as I'm concerned it didn't but it served as a pathway to make things compatible with PES 09 BAL and ML which was already been tested in some PES JP versions around 2006 and 2007 before it's full worldwide release as a playable mode.

Talking of which ML's - I appreciate the fact of having sponsors very much alike PS3 versions. It provided depth and realism into PS2 versions as well as leaving behind that fantasy approach from older PESs.
