Place the dgvoodoo d3d8.dll and conf files, from the attached zip file, on your pes 3 directory and see if it helps. I've used it in Pes 3 and 5 and I always get smooth 60 fps.

Has anyone tried playing PES 2014 on the PS2? The last one officially released? For me it's the best Pes fired in terms of AI, besides having an ML with sponsorships and also having real money in the ML, you also can't count on level A players if you're on lower teams because they refuse to go to your team, A The AI of PES 2014 on the PS2 is the most difficult one and for me the last official PES for the PS2 is the best, has anyone tried it?

I also think PES 2014 is quite good.
Something I don't like - and don't understand - is that Copa Libertadores teams cannot be used against the other European clubs.

My feeling too. Ludicrous that they're confined to the Copa Libertadores mode.
I have tried it a number of times, and recently i tried an updated PS2 ISO file on my Xbox but to me something feels off. I find the pitch feels narrow, there are hardly any fouls. I also have to disagree with you about the AI as I find it too easy to win possession back.

Try some mods that exist out there, mainly in Brazil and Spain, I took some modified files and it seems to me that they have unlocks for 2 levels of higher difficulties, look on YouTube you will find several modifications of pes 2014 and unlocks of higher difficulties!
I just had a quick check but couldnt find any mods for the ps2 version.

Thanks, it looks like the one I downloaded a couple of months ago because it has the efootball logo. I didn't realise it also had 2 higher difficulties though. I will try again but when I played it before (if it’s the same one) i found it played like the original.
WE8LE is one of the best PES/WE titles ever. Its probably the biggest 'Liveware Evolution' update compared to the previous version.
WE10LE plays quite similar to PES6. Not a huge difference, but since its PES6 at its core its still a great title.
I think that you can, however, use one for PES 3 or PES 4 if you have it. PES 6 has a "narrow back" model that's able to display those kits just fine if I recall correctly. They'll all just have a low-res back (but if it's all white it wouldn't be such a problem I guess) and be a little distorted on the lower part of the shirt when untucked (as PES 3 and 4 didn't feature that option).

General point: it bugs me when patch makers don't make it abundantly clear which game it's based on! Put it in the name/title, man! And also when they do up the menus to look like eFootball, complete with literally the worst colour scheme in human history. 😄
Agree with @BillyKong that WE8LE is the biggest upgrade of the 'inbetweeners'. Generally speaking they all offer improved AI and ball physics to various degrees. My usual advice - just give 'em all a go! 🙂

I bought an original copy (We8le) in very good conditions for only 12 euros last Winter.. unfortunatley i don't have a NTSC PS2.
I downloaded some iso to make them run with freemcboot,but they seems to be fragmented and i don't have a PC for fix them.
Finally getting to upload the highlights of the games from a competition that I played with my brother on PES2008. Here is a great penalty shoot out between Portugal (my brother) and Fulham (me). It was 0-0 after extra time.

Speaking about Juventus, in PES 2008, there is something strange in the ML.
With Juventus conrolled AI, after their first signing, Del Piero always give up his 10 for the 4.
I don't know if it's also the case in WE 2008.

So i played we10le these days, original corean iso cause is the only one i was able to run,and to me It is the best PS2 Pes atm. My opinion could change when i will be able to try we8Le,but atm i am finding we10le better than both Pes5 (which i prefer to we9le) and pes2008.
At first look we10le could seems like Pes6,but in my opinion is way more different,and in a good way, than we9le to Pes5.
These Is what i noticed:
- dribbling has that pes2008 feature that make u lose close control while sprinting and go diagonal. This happens more with less skilled player. I love this feature.
-midfield positioning is great, something that Pes6 miss totally. Actually midfield positioning is even better than pes2008 ihmo,where cpu pressing is too much wild and game more cahotic.
-i love ball physics. Passing is way better than pes2008 cause you can choose better to which one pass the ball. On Pes2008 i often struggle to pass the ball to the far player and this ends usually in a closer pass to the closer player.
Shooting is amazing. Has a lot of variety and it is way more difficult and demanding.
What the game miss is the great physical battles which we had on Pes5 and Referee stricness. Adriano and Ibrahimovic body balance must be lowered, cause 97 makes them overpower like on Pes6.
Despite this,i like the game more than everything else.
