The Retro-PES Corner

I ran into this with it a long time ago. Try running the quality level at Medium, and if that doesn't work try lowering the resolution. The game is enlarging the kit graphics to where they don't fit on the player model correctly; changing one or both of those graphics settings should fix it.
Thanks it worked by changing the quality to medium. But why the kits broke in high quality ?

I feel like what you have described here is exactly what I've been trying to learn, yet always seem to get lost in all the different ways to set this up 😅 I'm looking to play patches on an unmodded PS2 Slim of PES6 and PES2008.

I get the feeling the McBoot card is the way forward, but beyond that, what else is required for the set up and can you point me in the direction of the best guides? Hugely appreciated if so!

A FreeMCBoot memory card is the way to go for what you're looking to do. There's a handy program called OPL Manager for PC which will ensure everything is set up correctly on your USB.

I used the Mr Mario guides and it didn't steer me wrong:
There are probably more up-to-date versions of OPL Manager now (I've sort of left my PS2 behind and now play all my games on a Series S) but it won't be too different.

Give it a bash and message if you get stuck!

Appreciated! Yea I've been devouring these Mr Mario tutorials all evening- properly feel like I'm partying like it's 2006 right now :D.

Geeeeee mentioned his PES2008 option file plays with no problems at all off the USB which is super encouraging, but I was wondering - are there any records of someone successfully burning a fully modded PES6 such as Firebird to a DVD disc and then playing it off the PS2 using something like ESR? I had a look at the ESR game compatibility list and none of the PES games look like they've even been tested there:

The problem I find with DVD games is that after a while they get stuck. I remember playing PES5 so many times that sometimes after a cut scene the screen would go blank for ages and I would have to take the disc out and wipe it and put it back in.

Obviously with the USB version you don’t get that problem. ;)

When I first found out about this a few years ago I just about exploded with excitement. Watched all the tutorials and got stuck right in!

I'm pretty sure ESR is just for DVD-based PS2 games. But there are some heavily-modded PS2 games out there:
... Especially if you speak Spanish or Portuguese!

I only tried a couple of games on disc via ESR. Found that there was loads of slow down.

Anyone can help me to convert the psu save data files into folder like this?

I can't use the import apps since i only using mac :(

I found the same when I used to play PES5 on PC. My theory is that the PS2 is less responsive, in other words there is a slight delay to your button presses.

I like the recorder inside PCSX 1.7.

Even if there's lags or the game get slower when recording, the recorder doesn't take in consideration those and the final result is fine with the default speed of the game.

There's no such recorder for the PC, as I know.

from here on comes WE2008... and the ps3 era. Sorry for the triple post, it was the best way to present the images, I will make a topic for you later where all the editions of the saga that I uploaded in previous months will be.

see for yourselves and compare the fluidity and the differences that these asian versions can have with the ps2 european versions of pro evolution soccer that we all know, in my opinion these games are faster and you must be faster to think about giving the passes It's still more entertaining even if it's more arcade.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble with PES 2013 PESEdit selector (I am using 3.8 version, which I think is the most widely used patch).

Whenever I try to switch leagues/2nd divisions by clicking on the image, the selector crashes and exits. Is anyone else having this problem, and/or knows how to fix it?

Thanks in advance. :TU:
Been having the same issue lately with the 6.0 version where the selector keeps crashing and i am rethinking of installing a different patch for that season. I think it's the pesedit patches in general cause i ran into another issue such the pes 2010 pesedit patch 3.4 where all the teams would have austrian flags and that happened after changing 2nd divs or other settings for the ML via the selector.

playing a pes 2011 master league with pes edit patch
minanda, one of the youth team players didnt renew the contract and dissapeared from the game in the next season

someone ever saw this?

i had to release the players that i wanted to keep in the last days of the season and resign them lol

Hey guys! Was wondering.. Was a FIFA English commentary patch ever released for PES 2009? I've been looking for it everywhere but haven't been able to find one. If anyone knows of one, that'd the great! :TU:

So the pushing the right stick on a replay gives a slow motion to a x2 speed.

I always thought that pushing it to the left/ right gives a fast replay (x2 speed) only. Actually no, if you very slightly push it to the right, you can have a smooth slow-motion replay. In a replay, the right stick is very sensitive on how far you push it to the right/ left from its default position . You can even have the live gameplay speed.

You can clearly notice this since the PS3 editions, besides since this editions, combining the RS + dpad on a replay, gives x4 speed.

fun fact : in PES 2013 Football Life's modes, the guys who take care of the pitch all wear Christmas hats in DecemberView attachment 220761View attachment 220762

PES 2013 be like....

@Shales Brilliant goal mate!! Bergkamp adding to his legendary collection of goals! The pass, the angle.. I won't spoil it for other users, but just an awesome score! PES 5 Original Season is absolutely a brilliant patch and a brilliant game (currently playing it at the moment with Bolton Wanderers)! :TU:
Thank you 👍. Yeah so many things combined made this look stunning. I love this patch. It took me a while to fully get into it as PES 5 is harder game to grasp. Certainly on PC with its slower pace. I am tempted to start up a Master League on this game and try to stick to the broadcast camera.

Hey guys :)),

Last night I scored what could be my favourite goal on PES. It just looks so beautiful! This is the PES 5 Original Season patch on PC.

What do you reckon?

I like a lot the fact that after time of playing PES vanilla so much on PS2 you dived into this great world of PES patches on PC and in top of that, starting by picking one of the best. When PES died as a franchise (and modern football videogames) I was entirely motivated to go on a great search for patches on EvoWeb, and since then I'm so happy. Patches are changing entirely the authenticity of PES so much that you can feel lots of differences in flavor to specific periods that are designed on those patches (graphics, competitions, stadiums, chants, soundtracks, faces, kits, badges...it's incredible how good are made). This place is like an ocean, I literally have the entire football history on my desktop for my weekend couch sessions with friends or if I want to roleplay alone some scenarios from a specific period...

That desktop 😍 ridiculous!

The time was right to start playing these patches. There is so much to discover 🙂. I still love the PS2 games as I love just how mad they can be. Plus the memories attached to them are still so strong. They are just so comfortable to play. I mean physically as well. I love sitting down on the couch and playing on the big Tv. I know it is possible to hook a laptop up to the Tv but it just isn’t the same. Emulating the PS2 on the Xbox Series consoles has been incredible for me.

Anyway, I’m in a great spot right now. These old games are never going to die! 😀.
