The Retro-PES Corner

Although i own the PC versions for 2015 and 2016, which are the PS3 equivalents, I've said in the past, PES 2015 was a back to basics PES for me. Big player models, awesome PA1 system, good balance between arcade/sim without being completely arcade, neither completely SIM like misfunctioning 2014 early versions.

I have a plan for the future, to buy the versions for PS4, as i am sure they are even smoother. Both 2015 and the 2016 final version with Gareth Bale cover.
These days I tried 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2021.

The first impact with 2016 was not positive, because compared to 2015 it has certainly speeded up. I had to bring it down to -1 right away, and yet it still feels hectic. I will play other games to understand it better.

About 2015, in 4-5 games played I saw game situations and animations in their own right compared to the editions that go from 2017 onwards, which in my opinion follow a logical thread, albeit between ups and downs.
Too bad I didn't record them, but the pass and shooting systems are satisfying, as are dribbling, tackling, ball protection. It looks very refined to me, I will share something in the next few days.

Hi guys, a few days ago I showed you that I bought the entire pes ps4 saga for a modest price.

Out of all the chapters, I've been impressed with pes 2015 so far.

Exceptional ball physics, no team spirit, no script (at least so it seems), a balanced rhythm that allows you to think.
Passes with level one assistance must be directed and dosed with precision, otherwise you give the ball away to the cpu.
Stamina has a great impact, at the end of the game you are much more wrong.

Level graphics, many players with player ID.

One flaw I found is some collisions, with players falling too easily.

Anyone familiar with this chapter?
It's the first time I've played it on ps4 and it looks really good!
PES 2015 is a solid edition. As @slamsoze mentioned, it has good balanced gameplay with intermediate pass assistance, and its basic gameplay features work quite well. But if there is one thing that really bothers me about it, is the inflated scores in simulated "CPU vs CPU" games in Master League and Cups.

If you play matches over 10 minutes (I usually like to play 15-20), you get highlly unrealistic scores of 6-4, 5-3 on average for games between the computer. which breaks immersion for me. And it's unfortunate, because otherwise the game is quite good. It's amazing that Konami couldn't get this right for this edition. I wonder if there's a way to fix this perhaps with Hex Editor, or with other modding.... it would fix the game for me and many others.

Editing Reefur's 04/05 data on WE8LE, can anyone recognize which player is this? Certainly not Paco Gento, but I can't think of a correct one

Vietnam had a massive PS2 scene that peaked during PES 6 and 2008 PS2 days. Back then I played the hell out of a 2008 patch with fully licensed PL and English -> Vietnamese translation, bone stock Konami DB with fake players, Vietnamese commentary. It's still one of the best PS2 patches I have ever played. I lost the DVD long ago but recently I found the second version of that 2008 patch floating online with Vietnamese league, 08/09 kits and DB. Not as good as the first version but still decent nonetheless. Gameplay video not mine

Not sure if @DiegoPino is around here, saw your post on WEditor and I still can't figure out how to edit WE8LE database. I can open para files using WE8's SLPM, but it doesn't save to WE8LE's SLPM, and team orders are messed up (Man Utd squad showing up in Middlesbrough slot for example) due to differences between 8 and 8LE DB

Hi Friend.

i will try to explain, in enlgish but the best tutorial its in Spanish: WE8, WE8LE Editor Kmochida

1. The Tool not work with the WE8LE's SLPM because that ISO haved 2 TEAMS NEW, that its the Reazon the Man Utd Squad Display Error)

2. Forget de WE8LE's SLPM and replace with default WE8 SLPM

3. Edit the ROM/ISO and Saved the data (With WE8 SLPM)

4. To import the data to ISO WE8LE you must:

export the datafiles edited from (0_TEXT.AFS files from WE8LE) to Individual Files
Remember that guide:

unnamed17 = para_we8.bin = Datos --> Import over 0_TEXT.afs of WE8LE
unnamed18
= pd_data_license.bin = Setting Jersey --> Import over 0_TEXT.afs of WE8LE
unnamed3598 = param_dat.bin = Datos --> Import over 0_TEXT.afs of WE8LE
SLPM_xx = NO SE IMPORT

Anexo image preview:
we8_editor_by_Kmochida.jpg

5. In that Steps, only have to edit the TEAM NAME of WE8LE via Hexa Tool.
Remember only haved 2 Teams New Names to EDIT via hexa.

its only changed the Name of 2 TEAMS.

Hope can help you that information.

i am working but if i have time i will try to do a video to explain the we8, and we8le editor kmochida.

The concept its easy, Just Need run the tool with the SLPM of WE8 and the Data of WE8LE.

When finish the Edit, import all data of WE8LE to ISO and the SLPM you must change via Hexa. (The ISO WE8LE have 2 Teams New)

I am at work but if I have time in the evening I will make a video.

Best Regards

hi guys, how are you doing?

I would like to make a small request for those retro players of PC PES between 2008 and 2013, if you have the game with no patches, would be kind to extract the balls files and send them to me? i need the original files to understand them a little better and see if there's a match between them like one ball that repeats across all those PES games I mentioned before.

I have a small project idea and if it works it will keep those games a little more alive :)

It doesnt matter if you dont have all, if you have at least one will be useful, if you dont know how to extract them we could try to figure it out together via PM

At the PS3 era, I think that PES 2009-2010 had the best costumed face for the players. The modeling for the no-preset faces on PES 2011-2013 was below average.

New graphic engine, the beginning with PES 2008 wasn't at all great for the costumed faces, players wasn't well modeled and based on the PS2's modeling. Probably they used the same players' images as a reference. I remember when I played the game (PES 2008) for the first time, I found the players' modeling awful, and the one on PES 6 better.

U can see with this exemples the difference between PES 2008 and PES 2009.

well... about my previous question... I wanna leave some update

1 - I manage to convert PES4/5/6 ball models into PES2008 to 2013 (PC)
2 - There seems to be only one bug, the rotation is not perfect, but does the job, maybe someone more interest than me on that issue will fix it
3 - Sooner I will release it as a tool that will allow to convert a whole gdb balls folder or just one ball bin file
4 - Next stop is converting PES4/5/6 hairs models ;)

that's all

credits to @Hawke for his amazing evoweb ball that now we will be able to enjoy on others pes versions

I know this range of pes versions is not the favourite for all of you, but i just wanted to give some support for those fans

EDIT: in case you wanna give it a try download from here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/jcd4ic6jmsixkq0/evoweb_ball_pes_2008_2013.bin/file

On PES, there's 3 types of injury frequency. A, B and C.

I don't know if it's from the match engine, but - as I know - all the injuries that happen in the PES / FIFA during a game are only due to a physical contact between two players.

But in real life, players can also be injured without any contact during the game. He can be injured when he performs a sliding tackles, a sprint, after a jump..

I hope they will consider this other causes of injuries in the future football games.

They were rare, but players falling down injured all alone used to happen once in a while in Ps2 era, usually with the C injury grade/low stamina combo. There was also some Fifa around 12-13 where I remember players injuring on themselves, and more recently in Pes 2019 you had a warning about players with low stamina, where if you did not change them it sometimes risulted in an injury without contacts.

However, highly doubt in the future we'll see injuries at all, let alone more contextual ones. Football games will be more and more sterile as it's already happening, cutting away every distraction possible from you and the goal.

there are some videos of players from pes5 falling during the game, also sometimes when they get big injury the player could even die
