hmmmm - i dunno, i want a ps3, but i want a new telly, the missus wont let me have both :( Can the ps3 have a vga or component input for hi def? or is it hdmi only - The reason i ask is the tv that i have now can display 720p and 1080i, but has no hdmi, i have my 360 in hidef on it now, but i wanna ps3.. Will the ps3 run on my tv? Or do the blueray films require hdmi and the hdcp thing?

Dont worry, you can get a component cable for the PS3. So you can get it to display HD :)
 
I have a question for PS3 owners.
I can't get online.
I have a wireless internet connection and i have done everything as in the manual...went looking in my PC internet connections description and typed everything over in the PS3 and still i can't manage to get online.
The PS3 gives me an error code...i'm searching for a place/manual were the error code is explained so that i know what is wrong...very frustrating...
 
I had a problmem at first but later found that i was inputting my wep key incorrectly. jut make sure you enter that in the correct place, the wireless connection should then be instant.
 
The latest Rumors are that Microsoft are Buying Take Two and GTA4 will be XBOX 360 exclusive (Doubt it).
I believe their is more than owning Take Two to owning GTA however look at these two sites.

The PS3 version is not mentioned anywhere and they are supposed to be released at the same time aren't they.

Their was a big announcement (Lol turned out to be the Elite)last night at midnight and another tonight ppl are saying it could be the GTA 4 news.

But it would be huge for the 360.
GTA 3 sold more PS2's than anything Sony did and if it was exclusive to Microsoft the Elite would sell millions overnight and the PS3 would be screwed for a while anyway everywhere outside Japan.
 
In the age of next-gen, where you can get a hell of a lot of good games for your console, surely there's not that many people who would buy a PS3 purely for one game? I mean, I've mentioned that I'd love to play the new Metal Gear Solid, but I'm past the age of buying a console just to play one game...
 
Yeah but your not talking about MGS, Halo, and even Final Fantasy etc.
We are Talking about GTA probably this Century's biggest game.

Like i mentioned GTA3 on the PS2 Sold so many Units alone. I Got my first PS2 after playing it at a mates house and this was the same story for so many ppl.
You would play Splinter cell on the Xbox if you cant get MGS.
Grand Turismo = Forza
Halo = Killzone etc etc.


But no game has come close to replicating GTA or has the Hype. There have been plenty of attempts, but Like Fifa compared to (old gen)PES something just doesn't feel right and there not as much fun.
 
seriously bought my ps2 ONLY for gta 3 back then. no kidding. i saw the first trailer and went out getting it with the console on streetday.
 
GTAIII and the sequels single handedly made the PS2 to the phenomenon it had become (in the West). The rest is all history with games such as Guitar Hero and whatnot.

If Sony loses GTA, it'll be a massive massive blow - even more than the price and the delays it came with. It's all a bit dubious - but it is worrying that there is apparently an announcement later tonight :(
 
I keep seeing the PS3 on Gameplay and thinking "I could make room for one", but then when I see the games available, I realise what a waste of money it would be (for the time being). Motorstorm might be okay, Formula One I can take or leave, and the rest are all available on 360 with no noticeable drawbacks.

Definitely one for the future.
 
That looks very good, there is one problem regarding PES7 though and that is Seabass - he can't do anything right these days.
 
Konamis Baseball game looks amazing! now thats what Next Gen should look like! it makes MLB2K7 look a bit dated :)

PES6 Patch coming soon; soon = new firmware update?

This is definitely mixed news for fans of footy games. While there are plans to release a patch for the PS3 that´ll allow for online support for the PS2´s Pro Evolution Soccer 6, there doesn´t seem to be a definite date for such a patch to appear.

One of the main problems with playing PES6 now is that the emotion Engine has been taken out of Euro PS2s. To play certain games or to allow certain games their full functionality, people would have to wait for patches to come that would remedy those existing problems. Unfortunately, Konami noted the game as playable but "with noticeable issues," one of them being the disabling of multiplayer.

There´s good news and bad news behind all this trouble though. The good news is that, according to Eurogamer, "Sony told Eurogamer this morning that we´d probably not see a fix until the next firmware update." The bad news is that, since Sony just released FW 1.6 a little over a week ago, there´s no date for any sort of new firmware scheduled.

Take it for what it is though, sports fans. You WILL be getting your PES 6 fix eventually, and that´s definitely something worth looking forward to in the meantime.

They really should release fixes a lot sooner, we are currently suffering with PS2 games not working and I dont think they should just say "wait months for the next firmware release..." time to keep out our old PS2's I think lads.

You know, the more I think about the reason Sony took out the Emotion Engine chip, wasnt so much to feck off PS2 owners, but to shift more copies of PS3 software. Think about it, I mean when I bought my PS2 it was for PES, but I got it before PES was released, and for the first month or so, the main game I played was ISS PEII, then GTAIII came out and that was it.

Maybe it's just me being mad, I mean what is there, 75% compatibility atm? So maybe it doesnt affect many games really, cause I never seen the list.

As for FW updates, think so far it's been almost monthly with Sony and the PSN.

Thanks! A bit of XBox360 bashing going on, why will Criterion concentrate on the PS3 version more.

Anyway, can't wait for it. Burnout was one of the best franchises on the PS2 for me :8):
