yo yo yo....guess what arrived in the post today!
First Impressions:
+ Looks v slick. I also quite like the menu system but not as colourful as the blade system on 360
+ Very quiet. A huge difference from the airplane taking off decibel level with the 360
+ Nice to be back on the Playstation controller again. It is light but it's not as cheap feeling as I thought it would be.
+ Motorstorm looks quite fun

+ Setup is simple
+ Not as big as I thought it would be. It's actually more compact than the 360 as you don't have a huge power block to carry about.
+ Standard mini-USB connector in the controller. I can use my phone charger or even my iPod charger (i.e. no need for plug and charge kit).
+ Blu-Ray playback is fantastic!
- What have they done to the L2+R2 triggers on the controller?! It is no way like the 360's and feels very tacky. It feels like how the buttons on the PS2 feel after a while when it gets dirty (i.e. jamming up).
- I haven't tried it on my HDTV yet. On our living room Toshiba CRT, it's nothing spectacular. Bear in mind that this was how I felt when I first connected the 360 - the difference on HDTV is quite significant.
- Lack or rumble feels quite obvious. As soon as the rumble sixaxis comes, the packaged sixaxis is going off to eBay.
- Loading times are quite bad

- Lack of launch games.
Frankly speaking, it'll be v difficult to justify the purchase of a PS3. I bought it purely out of speculation for the future and I quite like to try out Blu-Ray movies. There will be some decent exclusive games coming out - especially if you like God of War adventure type games.
