Sony PlayStation 3

*Hopefully* this list is ongoing. The fact that 1700+ titles have been done already suggest perhaps that updates will be done easily?

Noticeable big games with noticeable issues are Final Fantasy XII and GTA:Vice City Stories. Also, where is ISS Pro Evolution 1 or 2 on the PSX?
 
I thought i saw vice city being fine, and san andreas having probs, anyway, atleast theyve released it before friday. Gives people a chance to decide. Personally BC isnt an issue for me, never bothered with my ps1 games, and likely wont bother with ps2games either when/if i get a ps3.
 
I am having problems during some games with the controller "Getting Stuck!" in F1 CE it ruins my race as im stuck in 1 direction and get smashed out of the race... It doesnt matter what I try and do the game doesnt respond and continues to accellerate and turn Right! Similar happened to me on Motorstorm's Demo yesterday when my Vehicle just kept boosting and going straight after id let go of the boost button and was attempting to turn right! what is with this controller? is it just this pad which is dodgy or are there issues?

Think i read about this after the us release DJ, something witht he bluetooth wireless connection. Not sure what they a did about it though, have you tried playing it wired? Maybe that will stop it (aleast i might show you its the bluetooth instead of something being wrong with the pad)

According to CVG, discussions regarding the controller's seizures have been popping up again as of late. If one can recall, the last discussion was back in November, with members of the NeoGAF boards reporting controller lockouts which lasted for 3-5 seconds on some of the newer Playstation 3 games such as Gundam Musou. Also, even Playstation 2 were also causing the controller to freeze up, and several gamers have reported the same symptoms while playing God of War II on their PS3s.

These recent incidents prompted Mmmkay over at NeoGAF to draw up a survey, in an effort to try to help narrow down the probable causes for the lockouts. According to the results, the problem does not appear to be power-related, and results seem to point out that the SIXAXIS lockouts could be either due to a case of hardware or protocol misuse.

When Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) UK was contacted regarding the matter, the spokesman was quoted to have said that they were "unaware of any faults" with the SIXAXIS' connection, and that it was "the first I've heard of it". The spokesman then pointed out that the problems being reported may have been caused by people somehow dropping or mishandling the SIXAXIS.

At the moment, people who have experienced this problem are using a fix, where one has to reconnect the SIXAXIS controller to the USB port. So, has anyone else been experiencing the same thing? We'd love to hear from you via the comments.

That defeats the whole point of having a 'Wireless' Controller! thats bloody rubbish if I have to play with a USB cable plugged in all the time!

Play our shipping now too, but then they aint high street. Very very strange for retail to have done this, though I guess, what can Sony really do, can they fine them?

Very true, should have stuck to the 2.4GHZ wireless as used by MS for the 360 which I havent had problems with.

I will buy another controller on Friday (if I can that is!) and see if the problem is repeated again, if so then its my PS3 which I wont be impressed about as I cant do shit about it!

Is the Playstation 3 playable on normal TV? I haven't got the money to buy a HDTV and i was wondering if the PS3 is still playable on normal TV, since people seem to be going on about buying a HDTV with a PS3! Also has the PS3 even got a scart cable!?

I don't mind if the PS3 games looks bland on normal TV, just as long as it's playbale and doesn't look fucked up or anyhting....or there's no point buying one without a HDTV.

BTW has anyone played it on normal TV and a HDTV, what the difference between the two?
 
It's playable.

Don't go playing it on an SDTV and then watching someone else play it on a HDTV though. You will die a little inside. The difference is humongous (now there's a word that should be used more often).
 
Anyone know if the PS3 settings menu has a 50/60Hz switch like Xbox/Xbox 360, or do you have to do it everytime you start a game before the title screen like with PS2, Gamecube and Dreamcast?
 
It doesnt have that setting no unfortunately. My USA PS3 runs at 720P 60HZ all the time, I havent once seen it switch but thats probably because its a NTSC machine. I have a look in the display settings and I cant see anything relating to that.

Figures from market analyst NPD suggest that Nintendo has taken the upper hand in America's console war, with the two top-selling games machines in February: the DS Lite (with 485,000 units sold) and the Wii (335,000). The six-year-old PlayStation 2 came next, selling 295,000 machines, followed by the Xbox 360 (228,000) and Sony's PlayStation Portable (176,000). Even Nintendo's Game Boy Advance (136,000) sold more units there last month than the new PlayStation 3, which shifted just 127,000.

GBA is currently out-seeling PS3 in the USA

The same thing is happening to me too in F1, it's bloody annoying as hell when its near the end of a race. Fist time it happened i just thought it needed charging then after two other times i have had to plug in the USB adapter which isn't really on when it's supposed to be wireless. Bye the way mine is the Jap PS3
 
@stringerbell. I've heard you can use a ps2 rgb scart lead for ps3 if u have one.
 
Ive got the PS3 since yesterday evening and its amazing. It blow me away! Bought Resistance, Vf5, Vtennis and Motostorm. Alle GREAT games but i played lemmings for 2 hours LMFAO!!
 
I been playing the PS3 quite a bit this week. I hate the look of the thing though so I hide it under my tv. :)
 
Anyone buying a PS3 at the london launch also got a free 46" LCD and a taxi home!!! BASTARDS :D I would have gone up there for that.
