There are lots of games that haven't been released yet that justifies keeping the PS3. To name a few, Dark Souls 2, FFX HD and South Park. (I'm also getting Lightning Returns, but I understand that's not everyone's bag). I'm also currently playing through GT6 which has only been out a month or so.

That and of course PS+ for the freebies!

I'd say the system has at least another year or two in it. :TTTH: :PP

Cheers for the tip Ipswich. Indeed I need one of these thingies. But at least I will be able to use my old 500GB disk for the new machine, if I can't get any life back into the old one.
 
So I gave my PS3 to a dude in town to fix. He seemed confident he could get it back together, even offered a six month warranty if it failed again. So I will either get my PS3 back soon or he will sell it somewhere behind my back. Who knows.
