Sony PlayStation 3

Can't see me playing any PS2 game on a PS3 when I get one, I never played any PS game on my PS2. And given I only own PES WE and FIFA in various guises, can't see that changing..got the PS2 just for PES then chipped just for WE and the PS3 will be no different.
I assume the leap from 2-3 will be as big if not bigger than PS to PS2?? No one I know is going near one till the hype, price and bugs if any are sorted!!Though I've not heard any mention of problems!!
 
The only PS2 game you guys should give a damn about is God Of War 2. Ive just completed the US version and loved it too much!

BTW just letting you dodgy guys know, you can now mod PS3's. Expect it to be easy to find by the start of next week.
 
anyone know of any good deals, online? or even on the high street?

i'm looking for a second joypad and the best video lead available...

Not sure...but the sign up process (to get the Blu-Ray) wasn't as straight forward as expected. I had already signed up my PS network name beforehand - but later found out (from AVforums) to qualify, you had to sign up a new master account and register your machine via the PS3. I had to create another username - I don't know whether many peeps knew about that though...

Well we all knew it was exclusive, but Kojima has done no favours wih his relationship with Microsoft with that comment! Im sure a version of MGS will make its way to 360, just not MGS4.

Yep but from what I hear its like the 360, meaning firmware hack.

Personally I think with this generation its not advisable to hack your console, mainly because online is becoming such an important component to each console.

Its not just about playing online anymore. Theres various demos to download, the prospect of Home on the PSN AND new levels to download for already released games. Not to mention the constant firmware updates that enhance the console further.

Id be devastated if Konami released a WE/PES demo online and I couldnt get it because I had a modded console!

BTW that reminds me, could anyone direct me to site that helps people sign up to the Japanese server? I hear a demo of Ninja Gaiden Sigma will be released over there on the PSN. I need to download it! ;)
 
I saw this NBA game on the PS3 and I must say I did rub my eyes.Everything was life-like,it was like goddammit.I cannot wait to get my hands on a set but I will wait till Winning Eleven/PES7 debuts on the PS3.
 
got my PS3 today, with Resistance, Motorstorm and F1:CE

it's so bloody shiny!, looks so much classier than the 360, huge mother as well, Gamestation gave away a free shelf thingy so it doesn't have to be on the carpet either

shame I've gotta go and get a bloody HDMI cable

Previously, we reported that Sony's PlayStation 3 console managed to break sales records during a very successful launch weekend in the UK, going so far as to beat previous home console sales records by selling over 165,000 in its first two days at retail. However, recent sales figures from Chart Track, a leading UK media analyst, have indicated that the second week of sales following their storied launch have so far failed to live up to expectations.

According to GamesIndustry.biz a spokesperson for Chart Track has confirmed that the PS3 has seen an astronomical sales drop of 82% in its second week on UK shores. The data Chart Track has gathered is based on 7000 UK retail outlets, which represents approximately 90% of UK's software market.

This week's charts have also seen last week's highest charting games for the console, Resistance: Fall of Man and MotorStorm, suffer a severe sales drop of over 60%.

So far, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has declined to comment on the issue

Read about the decline, just curious ho it relates to the other console's It still about 33.000 units sold. However it does seem that it was mostly the fanboy's, gadget enthusiasts who are the ones that HAD to have it that made teh sales numbers so high. Whereas the rest of us are waiting for a price drop and some aaa titles.
 
Yeah, it's not surprising that there's been a huge sales drop. Sounds a lot worse when expressed as a percentage due to the very high first week sales.

Bring on a price cut and I'll be getting one.

btw- I see Virgin do a 10% student/birgin credit card discount. I still think £382 is a bit steep though!

I'm waiting for lower as well, £300 :shock: Hopefully by Summer 2008....

Click isn't that bad a film, makes a change to normal comedies.
