Sony PlayStation 3

I don't understand while anyone is waiting any longer for the PS3 over the 360 or Wii... specially WE/PES fans. unless if your all about Square/Enix and Sony's 1st party games. like GT and Socom.. I understand anyone waiting for the PS3 over the 360 and Will in that case...but their is no other reason besides that..

the PS3 is coming out a year after the 360 and the 360 has yet has the better graphics processor...

I don't think many people know they are basically paying for the Blu Ray DVD player when they buy a PS3. not a gaming machine

I myself will still buy a PS3 for Socom.. but that is the only game Sony has me still wanting their console. sad really.. but that will make me buy it no matter what. LOL

I surely wouldn't buy it for the WE/PES series.. I would buy a PC or 360 for WE/PES next gen series.. since konami is no longer basing their main platform off SOny's hardware... I'm sure it's off the PC code for next gen.



I still wonder if there is people out there that actually think the PS3 is going to have better graphics than the 360 like the Xbox did Vs PS2 for example? Sony fanboys need to wakeup.. they are going to be in for a big shock if they think the higher price PS3 that comes out a year later is going to out perform the 360 in terms of graphics and sound like the Xbox did the PS2 with it's hardware. Yes, I will tell you the PS3 is more powerful overall.. but in terms of graphics it will be hard for casual consumer to tell the difference in the two platforms and there be some games on each platfrom that showoff graphics that wow people to that console.

HD-DVD is not only a better value... But it is also OUT PERFORMING BLU-RAY....




Blu Ray load times for the PS3 could be longer than 360 load times which would even piss off more people. From the specs it looks that way but there is currently a lot of debate out there about this but I wouldn't be suprised if Blu Ray causes the PS3 games to have longer load times than 360.



PS3 Fanboys are still prolly in denial.. but I already knew this would happen.


With all that said.. I can't wait for SOCOM NEXT GEN ON THE PS3! :)

I already have the 360 and love it..

AND yes I currently play WE/PES on PS2 platform and nothing else.

The PlayStation 3 will not make its way to Europe until March 2007.

In an official statement, Sony said the decision was made to push the launch to next year because of "the delay in the mass production schedule of the blue laser diode within the Sony Group, thus affecting the timely procurement of key components to be utilised in PlayStation 3."

The delay effects all PAL territories, which includes Europe, Australasia, Russia, Middle East and Africa.

The launch dates for Japan and North America will remain as November 11th and November 17th respectively.

In more depressing news, Sony has also halved its shipment forecast for 2006 to 2 million. Originally, the plan was to ship 4 million units worldwide by year end. However, the company still plans to ship 6 million units by the end of March 2007, presumably with a large number dropping in Europe.

Id like the PS3 if it wasnt 1. Overpriced, 2. Full of Hype and 3. If Sony didnt steal other peoples ideas and 4. If Sony for once actually delivered what they originally told everyone they were going to deliver.....

The problem is it seems ahead of it's time, too many functions and too much expectation placed on the user to also own a top-spec HDTV (1080p). Don't think it's overpriced, for what you get it is decent.

It's a new console, of course it's going to be hyped. You think Microsoft, Nintendo, and every other company under the sun aren't going to hype their machines? Look at the confusion MS created over the PES/FIFA 'exclusive' announcements, they twisted it to make it sound like they had them tied down for 12 months, to the point where Konami had to make their own statement to let everyone know that wasn't the case at all.

Sony's copying of the Wii pad-motion is pretty blatant I agree, but if it works well, who cares? I believe you quite like a game called Saints Row, now there's downright copyright infringement right there! If it functions well, I don't give a toss.

Take off your anti-Sony glasses DJ. It's fine to have a problem with them but you take the piss, you look on every Sony-associated product with the same negativity, and you can't possibly be taken seriously.

I also have a Sony Hi Fi System (thats the best thing Sony make to be honest) and a set of Sony DJ'ing headphones and they have brilliant sound quality! So im not Anti Sony, im just Sceptical of the PS3 for very good reasons IMHO.

He's disagreeing, he's not saying you're WRONG. You're not the only person to think the cars in GT handle like shite, I feel the same way and we've had that discussion before on Evo-Web. I couldn't get into Gran Turismo 4 and it killed me, I couldn't cope with hitting a wall and being penalised by the engine cutting out for three seconds, and I came on here and said so. Classic then argued that if I'm hitting the wall I'm not "driving" very well in a "driving" simulator, which is true. It's just a discussion, of opinions. I wouldn't take everything so personally DJ. You come on here telling people to grow up, you called someone a "twathead" in another thread, and you're going up the wall when someone discusses something with you. Chill out.

And I wouldn't count a console that you're playing emulated games on as a Sony console when I'd bet half the games you're playing on it are Nintendo's, haha. :)

I think the delay isnt as bad as people think, thats all.

Its not as if the PS3 is being delayed worldwide, just in Europe. They'll sell out and come March they do extremely well.

Anyone thinking the March release means less sales is slightly missing the point. Its obvious the number of consoles available at launch will be low, so they'll sell out no matter what.

Also the first 6 months of the PS3's European life will be awesome in terms of games, the best on any platform.
 
Either way, the news about the Europe delay and the severe lack of consoles available worldwide is bad news for gamers generally......lack of competition is bad. As a result, we may continue to see a lack of good games released for the X360.

If this was a strict X360 vs PS3 "war", I'll still say that Sony has a chance. I have defended the X360 in the past, but I gotta say that the list of titles have been uninspiring - a sharp contrast to the DS library currently.

The fact is that Nintendo will be coming out with a wallet friendly and arguably more fun product in the Wii may make the promises of Sony and MS irrelevant anyway..

Today news from Insomniac (team of Resistance)

"La Haute Définition:

Le jeu sera compatible avec toutes les normes de HD, y compris le 1080p. Au niveau du son, différents codecs comprenant l'AC3 et l'ATRAC3 seront employés selon chaque cas particulier. Le jeu sera compatible avec le format 7.1 HDMI."

That mean the are in 1080p and ATRAC3 & AC3 sound in 7.1.

LOL they are the most blatant renders I have seen in ages. And all this 1080p talk is hilarious it WON'T make much difference to how the game looks and hardly anyone will compatible TV's for a few years. Just more useless Sony hype in my opinion.

Hmmmm, not sure if you caught this or not in that interview, but playing a First Person Shooter @ 30 frames per second will be downright sickening.

And just some food for thought from the same IGN interview
Al Hastings, Chief Technology Officer: Our intention is to support all HD modes including 1080p. The framerate will be locked at 30 frames per second in both single-player and multiplayer. We use a number of different codecs internally including AC3 and ATRAC3 depending on what's best suited to each particular case. The highest quality output format our game supports is 7.1 uncompressed over HDMI.

When someone intends to do something it doesnt mean it already is, it means they want the end product to also support 1080p, but that doesnt mean it already is supporting 1080p ;)

Heck, them saying they intend on it supporting all HD modes also doesnt really mean anything except that it will work on a 1080p resolution screen. Take GT4 for example on the PS2, it sure does support 1080i, but that didnt mean it was really running at 1080i, instead it was just upscaled 480p, but hey it supported 1080i didnt it:roll:

I wont be so sure mate, those dont look rendered a tiny bit to me, heck the graphics, texturs etc they were able to get on VT3 is somewhere up there with that screenshot, and BTW i saw the latest vid of this very game (resisance: fall of man) on gametrailers today and it din't look far from that, if anything it was prolly exactly that quality. I agree on your second point though, i mean, how many people in europe own a 40" (or bigger) HDTV ATM, i wouldn't bet for over 30%, it'll prolly be way less than that ;)..
 
OK the last pic looks in game ( actually playing ) but the first and second aren't. Cut scene's at best.
