But seriously, every site I've checked out, there is something negative about the whole thing

- I had hoped that it would be really decent. I mean, the Killzone 2 and Motorstorm graphics come to mind, but it has been disappointing. Sony had it there on the plate - tonnes of people were willing to wait and even pay that lil bit extra: but they just threw it all back into our face.

My eye is on the Nintendo conference....it's funny that arguably the weakest of the competition is likely going to be the highlight of the sorry "Next-Gen" era :shock:

No UK price yet, but looking at it, I would say your probably talking £350 for the basic 20Gb, maybe 430-450 for the proper one.

I am meant to be impressed with what they are showcasing, GT didn't impress. I think the crowd reaction said it all, they were very muted about most things shown.

It's a PS2 game, look all website

It's if you play to PES5 (PS2) on the PS3, you can play it at 1080p

GT is just a HD version of GT4, they said openly that particular version is not something they've got in production, although they also more or less said they do have another version of it in production. It's not a PS2 or a PS3 game.

I've only seen the MGS4 trailer and the quality wasn't great, but I still like the look of that.

As for the rest, underwhelmed is putting it mildly.

It was particularly cringeworthy when the hosts were trying to hype up the crowd - when Harrison was prompting the crowd to applaud the efforts was real face in hands stuff.

I'm not a fanboy of anything....but I would be particularly embarrassed after that showing

I am sure I have read that GT HD is a working title. They are updating all the textures to HD etc etc. I maybe wrong, apologies if I am. Regardless of that, it was a pretty crappy thing to show off the PS3. Ah well.

I was nearly falling asleep during that demo. Im so surprised games like Motorstorm werent there.

You, Im shocked to hear that the basic pack doesnt include stuff like wifi. That bloody awful.

But repeating what Holio said in the E3 thread, TGS will be much bigger for the games...I hope.

About the sensor on the Dualshock 3, ins't like the Wii, it's just a old system from a sidewinder on PC and bieleve me i have this controler later and it's a really shitty system, i don't know with Sony add this...

Exactly....as soon as they mentioned that Gyro thingy, I was like wtf!? - nobody rated that technology back then and they won't right now. Nintendo was different as it tracks your movement and position in freespace using image sensors.

It's actually a deterrent if anything

Also, the name Dualshock is a bit misleading now.....there is no force feedback (as Sony lost that courtcase a while ago).

HDMI, Memory Card stick, WiFi = gimmicks. Not required for gameplay.

No HDD in 360 core = not a standard, you cant code for it.

Sorry to dissapoint some people but what sony is not making the same mistake as M$ has. You don't need HMDI if you dont have HDTV, you dont need Memory Stick slots if you dont own a SONY digi cam and you don't needed WiFi you're not on a wireless.

Ok firstly, this generation of consoles is going to be based ALOT around High Definition, so your statement is pretty stupid IMO.

So tell me this. You buy the cheaper PS3, but then in a year or so decide you want a HDTV when the prices come down (you know what technology is like). You buy one, but then have to play in a crap resolution cause you bought the cheaper PS3 and can't upgrade. At least with the 360 you can. So are you going to buy another PS3? I think not.

Having one console without the other having HDMI capabilities is downright dirty

Agree with Flawless here. At least core lets you upgrade.... this 'core' PS3 doesnt.... I would have accepted 500 for the full thing, but 600 is too high.

I find the Gran Turismo HD thing funny. Does $ony understand that GT4 was already playable in HD? Yes, it played in 1080i on your PS2 if you had an HDTV. 1080i is an HD resolution, So.......what is $ony trying to show off? I find this a pathetic attempt to show off the PS3 and like it even matters as we probably wont get a GT game for years. Heck, just think GT4 for PSP, that was shown how long ago and there is still no word about it :roll:

I will not buy this pile of sh!t. I will not pay $700 for a console. I already have a gaming computer that cost me that much or less to build(and it does a heck of a lot more and $ony wont be trying to stop me from running homebrew/emu's with firmware updates). Let alone that if you want to play games at a resolution that doesnt suck your going to need an HDTV. I'm sticking to PC gaming. The 360 was the same bad news to me. Not only do you need the console but in order to make it somewhat look better than PC games you need an HDTV as SD480i even makes a x360 game look pathetic IMO. $ony can kiss my a$$. I was going to get a PS3 for the simple fact that I always buy $ony consoles for the exclusive games(as I find them better than other consoles exclusive games), but there is not a chane in hell I will pay that much for a console. Then you have the fact that next-gen console games cost $60 when their PC equivalents are only in the $30-45 range. :roll: Talk about a rip-off..................

FYI, you do not need HDMI to play games at HD resolutions. You will only need it for encrypted HD movies. Component cables(which will be used on the cheaper PS3 and is used on the X360) will display 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p...........so the game will work just fine at HD resolutions without the HDMI port. The xbox360 works just fine in HD resolutions without an HDMI port, or did you not know that :lol:
