Meh. PS3 is cool and all but at some point you gotta ask yourself HOW MUCH WILL EVERYTHING COST TOGETHER!?!?

I'm holding off until Winning eleven is confirmed region free and is multi languaged before I go buying one.

PS3 + 20GB = $499
PS3 + 60GB = $599

Dual Shock 3 = motion tracking!!!!!!!!!!! (similar to Wiimote or Revolution controler)

Holy fuckin shit. PS3 is gonna fuckin own. All of a sudden 360 seems like 10 years ago. It was worth waiting. Now that $400 is gonna towards the PS3. :D :D :D

- No HDMI output
- No WiFi
- No Memory Card/SD slots

these only exist with the 60GB version :(

And seriously, it is an insult to compare the gyroscoped DSIII with the Wii's controller (which uses imaging technology to locate in free space).

You are looking at technology closer to this:

The PS3 will launch at possible 150 dollars (maybe 200) more than what a 360 might cost this winter, it could possibly put alot of people off. In terms of this forum it might all come down to WE/PES!!!! Sony laughed at MS launching two systems, now they have gone and done the same, sure you have an HDD in both, but Rocky's list of features missing seems pretty bad. Any pics of the controller yet?

EDIT : Just read it's a DualShock with a black button and six degrees of movement.

and it also seem they took out the 7 player per screen feature and the du8al HDMI feature they boasted about at last year E3.

Japan: November 11th. 20GB: 59,800 yen. 60GB will have open price retailers will set.

America: Nov 17th. 20GB: USD 499, 60GB: USD 599.

All said and done, Sony have once again proved that they are full of it. A lot of the promises they made have gone. Also there "core" system is much more stripped down than the 360's and the features may not be able to be added at a later date. The overall mood seems to be dissapointment, even the fanboys have to accept that.

Wow, I am genuinly shocked! The price is high for a games console. And the drop in features is unacceptable in my opinion!

I agree with Jay, they have once again over promised. And the all hailed GT HD looks very bland! Nice cutscenes from FF though!

Spot on! and what I have basically said all along they are full of it! MS has delivered exactly what it said it would as far as I can see. Sony always does this and did this with the PS2. Dont think ill be getting a PS3 for a while then.

what pisses me of the most is that europe gets to pay 120euro more then the states! They really do piss on europes dont they. I stated this before but ill be waiting till we/pes gets released and then ill probably get it. Also why only black, wanted the silver to match the rest of my sony setup.

What did you thinkof that Eye Toy feature? It looked very cool to me, they could make like a YuGiOh game on it or somehting.

its fair to say the conference was a big let down. Im not biased as I was considering buying one and have a 360. But hardly any promises kept and nothing to get overly excited about. With next gen pes also getting shown on 360. Im putting my wallet back in my pocket just now.

Cant say I'm surprised.

The only surprising thing is the fact they're bothering with the stripped down version at all. I mean the things they're taking out aren't exactly the most expensive hardware elements.

They may as well just release the one model with everything included, even if it is €600/$600 etc...

I should be working by November, so it's no skin off my nose, but I'll only be buying one if a WE/PES are released. I couldn't be too bothered otherwise.

The thing is..Sony is playing a very dangerous game.

I was definitely no fan of the old Core and Premium 360 packs - but you *can* buy a Core and upgrade it if you wish.

You won't be able to do the same with the PS3 20GB version. Maybe you can find a solution for the WiFi and memory card slots, but adding HDMI ain't gonna be possible right? And HDMI is needed to play HDCP encrypted BluRay movies - ultimately meaning that you won't be able to view/play BluRay movies in native full resolution (or not even play em at all)(!). Now what's the point in that?!

The games....seriously...I wasn't overly impressed. They looked good but are no way a world apart from the 360. Check out "Everybody's Golf" - it looked like a PS2 game ffs(!). It was absolutely clear from the conference that Sony gave a crap about the consumers - they only seemed interested in promoting the ways you can spend even more money online in their online shops :roll:

But obviously, if it is the case that people are gonna buy it for 1-2 games, then be it. But if Sony succeeds, then I think many will honestly lose all hope in the games industry. It's not about the price, it is about the principle(!)

I don't know what half of the ports are (looks like 3 ethernet ports for some reason(!)).

There are USB slots but I think they are at the top.

There is going to only be one HDMI slot in the 599 version.

So yea....I think that image is the 599 version. The 499 is not going to have an HDMI slot :(

That image is slightly glorified, but what they were getting at is that there is not 2 HDMI outputs, nor are there 3 network outputs (although quite why they wanted 3 in the first place is beyond me). The USB ports are probably located elsewhere. However the former 2 points were much touted last year, and have since dissapeared.

I think LemonJelly is just posting a pic TG, much like you did in the 360 thread, thus he probably didnt knock it up and prob cant answer you about it. But the neither machine has the abilty to knock out TWO HDMI 1080p signals which they claimed last year and I'd say they maybe have done away with some of the other things, who knows till someone gets there hands on a fully working machine.

As I said earlier, it'll be mostly down to the WE / PES Franchise for people here that will make up there mind whether to get one or not.
