Heard on a podcast that you always die in the tutorial, it's part of the game. But yeah have heard it can be well tough too.

Is there a demo, or will there be a demo?

From the looks of it it doesn't look like my kind of thing but everyone loves it...

Questions for SingStar owners : Looking at moving up to the PS3 SingStore etc.

Do you need to buy the Vols 1-3 if you want those songs on the discs? Or can you buy one of them and buy the songs from SingStore? Or do you buy the discs and you put them on the HDD and use only one disc but have all the songs? Or is it swapping discs to select songs?

How are the wireless mics? Worth upgrading too?

Thanks in advance people.

EDIT : Do the Band SingStar games not allow access to the SingStore?

You can buy any volume and still get access to the SingStore. If you want to play another volume, you press the select button and it asks you to swap the disc, and you're off again.

DLC is shared across volumes though and is available in any version. Even the Motown one. A lot of the songs on the volumes are available as DLC as well so if you're only buying a volume for a few songs, it might be cheaper and easier to just get it on DLC if it's available.

Haven't tried the wireless mics and not played a band SingStar so can't help there mate.

I was thinking of buying the Queen pack with wireless mics, because there doesnt seem to be any other wireless packs available with a game and I noticed on the Vol 1-3 boxes it said SingStar Vol x and SingStore, and it didnt say that on the cover of the Queen game. Thus I asked the question, I'm guessing you can and that any DLC can be played through it. Shame it doesnt have an import disc facility like Rock Band and the GH games.

The wireless mics are worth the upgrade, the speech recognition works pretty well.

Sony today unveiled both trophy lists, giving fans a couple weeks to prepare before its Blu-ray release on November 17. A post on Sony's official blog gives details on a bit of the background on the series' development, and how it translated into humorous trophy ideas for the collection.

I don't think the devs at God of War are dealing with those.

Cross game invite is already here as well though some devs just refuse to add it and force you into using the in game invites. Even without it you can still invite someone into a game they're not playing just by sending them a pm and then they can swap discs.

Cross game chat is coming in the next firmware but that will be next year. They said when the last one came out that that would be the last fm update of 2010 (unless something went wrong). But im not interested in that anyway. I'm just expecting it to get in the way of in game communication where groups of people are using the cross game function instead of the in game chat so planning things in game with them will be impossible.

Sky Player heading for PS3?

Sky boss hints that the TV giant’s catch-up service may soon be available for PlayStation gamers, following the launch of the Sky Player on the Xbox 360.

Sky’s online catch-up service, the Sky Player, was launched on Xbox 360 yesterday, but the satellite TV giant has emphasised that it remains is neutral in the battle of the games consoles.

Asked if the Sky Player could be available to PS3 users, Stephen Nuttall, commercial director of Sky, told Techradar: “To be honest we’re kind of neutral about how people access our content and don’t feel we should proscribe how people should be watching Sky. Our job is just to give people options.”

The Sky Player was made available yesterday to Xbox Live Gold gamers, who already pay an annual fee of £60 to play online games across Microsoft’s network.
We don’t feel we should proscribe how people should be watching Sky

To access the on-demand content, Xbox gamers must pay an additional £15 a month for the basic Sky entertainment pack. This includes channels such as G.O.L.D., Sky News, British Eurosport and the Disney Channel.

Subscribers can then add extra channels and Sky packs to their service:

* Sky Sports 1 OR Sky Sports 2 + Sky Sports Xtra - £25 a month
* Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 + Sky Sports Xtra - £34 a month
* Sky Movies Screen 1 OR Screen 2 - £24 a month
* Sky Movies Screen 1 + Screen 2 - £32 a month
* One movie channel + one sports channel + Sky Sports Xtra - £33 a month
* One movie channel + all sports channels, OR one sports channel + all movie channels, + Sky Sports Xtra - £38 a month
* All sports and movie channels - £41 a month
* ESPN - From £9 extra a month

There will also be films and TV shows available from the service; some will be pay-per-view while others will be free.

Griffin Parry, Sky’s director of on-demand content, said: “This initiative is designed both for existing Sky subscribers and for people who, for whatever reason, either do not want or are not able to fit a satellite dish to their homes.”

Xbox subscribers who are already signed up for Sky will have the option of receiving a similar package of on-demand channels via their Xbox 360 console, for the channels they already pay for.

Sky Multiroom or Broadband Unlimited customers can also access the live channels through their games console, with Multiroom subscribers who are also Xbox Live members receiving the full service for free.

This is the IPTV that they talked about previously right?

MS have more money than God according to Jack Tretton so they should have used some of that to push those prices down a bit. Kinda like what Virgin did with Setanta/ESPN.

That's only if you DON'T have Sky, so basically it's turning your Xbox into a Sky box, and thus it needs a full Sky Subscription. Could be useful for people who dont have Sky or cant get a Dish stuck on a wall. It's a tenner more if you dont have Sky Multiroom or Broadband to get the channels you already subscribe too people. It would be exactly the same if and when it comes to the PS3.

In that case the pricing is understandable, not something I'm interested in either way.

Braid is coming to the PS3 via the PlayStation Network this month!

braid_title_new.jpg

What is considered by many to be the finest Xbox LIVE Arcade title as well as one of the best games of this generation will soon be appearing on the PlayStation 3 too.

Braid is a puzzle-platformer with a unique twist in that you can control and manipulate time which in turn effects the character and the game environment. The beautiful watercolour visuals and fantastic soundtrack perfectly compliment the haunting and mesmerizing story of a man searching for his princess which deeply explores the human condition and takes a philosophical approach unseen in other games within the industry.

As Eurogamer put it 'Still wondering if games can be art? Here's your answer.'

Singstar, is it possible to check out an online friend leaderboard or is it just local scores only?

Local scores and the scores listed on their profiles only as far as I'm aware.
