Attention, PlayStation 3 owners: want to watch a movie streamed instantly from Netflix via your PS3? I’ve got terrific news for you; very soon you’ll be able to do just that.
We’re excited to announce today that Netflix and Sony have partnered to bring you thousands of movies and TV episodes streamed instantly from Netflix to your TV via your PS3 system at no extra charge. When the application launches next month, you’ll be able to access and watch thousands of Netflix choices directly through the XMB. We think that the nearly nine million PS3 enthusiasts and 11.1 million Netflix members in the U.S. will make quite a match.
If you want to get a head start on your PS3 Netflix experience, you can sign up today at http://www.netflix.com/ps3.
Questions for SingStar owners : Looking at moving up to the PS3 SingStore etc.
Do you need to buy the Vols 1-3 if you want those songs on the discs? Or can you buy one of them and buy the songs from SingStore? Or do you buy the discs and you put them on the HDD and use only one disc but have all the songs? Or is it swapping discs to select songs?
How are the wireless mics? Worth upgrading too?
Thanks in advance people.
EDIT : Do the Band SingStar games not allow access to the SingStore?
Sky boss hints that the TV giant’s catch-up service may soon be available for PlayStation gamers, following the launch of the Sky Player on the Xbox 360.
Sky’s online catch-up service, the Sky Player, was launched on Xbox 360 yesterday, but the satellite TV giant has emphasised that it remains is neutral in the battle of the games consoles.
Asked if the Sky Player could be available to PS3 users, Stephen Nuttall, commercial director of Sky, told Techradar: “To be honest we’re kind of neutral about how people access our content and don’t feel we should proscribe how people should be watching Sky. Our job is just to give people options.”
The Sky Player was made available yesterday to Xbox Live Gold gamers, who already pay an annual fee of £60 to play online games across Microsoft’s network.

To access the on-demand content, Xbox gamers must pay an additional £15 a month for the basic Sky entertainment pack. This includes channels such as G.O.L.D., Sky News, British Eurosport and the Disney Channel.
Subscribers can then add extra channels and Sky packs to their service:
* Sky Sports 1 OR Sky Sports 2 + Sky Sports Xtra - £25 a month
* Sky Sports 1, 2, 3 + Sky Sports Xtra - £34 a month
* Sky Movies Screen 1 OR Screen 2 - £24 a month
* Sky Movies Screen 1 + Screen 2 - £32 a month
* One movie channel + one sports channel + Sky Sports Xtra - £33 a month
* One movie channel + all sports channels, OR one sports channel + all movie channels, + Sky Sports Xtra - £38 a month
* All sports and movie channels - £41 a month
* ESPN - From £9 extra a month
There will also be films and TV shows available from the service; some will be pay-per-view while others will be free.
Griffin Parry, Sky’s director of on-demand content, said: “This initiative is designed both for existing Sky subscribers and for people who, for whatever reason, either do not want or are not able to fit a satellite dish to their homes.”
Xbox subscribers who are already signed up for Sky will have the option of receiving a similar package of on-demand channels via their Xbox 360 console, for the channels they already pay for.
Sky Multiroom or Broadband Unlimited customers can also access the live channels through their games console, with Multiroom subscribers who are also Xbox Live members receiving the full service for free.
They can go jog along mate£49 a month to watch Sky Sports on your 360?!
