MGS4 demo! Crazy they put that up now!
 
I didn't think it was THAT amazing myself. The game was stunning and the story was epic... but graphically I feel Uncharted was way better.

It depends really. The first act of MGS set in the Middle East doesn't look terrific texture wise (I assume that'll be the bit in the demo unfortunately), they get around it with pretty clever lighting, but it could be better, but then the game just looks stunning after that.

Granted it takes a lot to beat Uncharted though. I don't think there are many games that can touch that.
 
LBP debuted at No.2 in the charts and Motorstorm 2 bombed at No.28!
 
Playing Fallout 3 last night, PS3 had been on about 4 hours or so, and my PS3 froze. No buttons worked, no PS button to bring up the XMB or turn off the system, sound effects seemed fine though.

This isn't the first time my PS3 has frozen up, I think it might happen once every two months. Turning off the PS3 with the power button seems to take a lot longer, eventually giving three beeps (I think) and I can turn it on fine again then.

Anyone else experienced this?

No, but doesnt sound good.

If it is knackered, then Sony are good at replacing them. My mates one I spoke of earlier in the thread - he phoned Sony and they are doing a doorstep swap next Monday!

Its a bit of a wait, but least its a free replacement.
 
Just read up about it and the three beeps happen when the system freezes and can't shut down properly. Seems like it's a Fallout bug as people are reporting their system locking up during Uncharted quite a bit.
 
Fallout is known to be hugely buggy on PS3 unfortunately.

Does sound kinda like your PS3 is on the fritz though, I know my HD is moments away from conking out on me, there are signs.

Yeah I've had it happen lots of times. It's nothing to worry about really, my PS3 is absolutely fine and I play it for hours on end and watch videos every night through it. I think sometimes it just has a bit of an overload on some games and doesn't know how to deal with it so freezes to protect itself from overheating.

If anyone else is having trouble adding funds to their PSN account with a Solo or Maestro card (the last FW changed the usual process for some stupid reason) then what you need to do is add you details normally but when you get to the start date just deduct three years from the end date. e.g. if the end date is 09/09 then input a start date of 09/06.

I saw this today at the official forums and I tried it and it worked for me.
 
I put my debit card details into my account and just purchased the Live Seasons without any trouble? No need to add funds or anything

It'll still have taken it from your bank account though.

I thought I'd managed to get stuff for free from PSN when I wasn't prompted to load money, but then I got an email saying it had been purchased and money loaded automatically.

My card details were stored there previously but the last update removed them and when I tried to put them in again there was a maintainnce message coming up. That's the issue that some were having, Solo and Maestro cards not having start dates was the obstacle.
 
That wasnt the point I was making, I now it took money from my account but theres no need for me to add funds etc, just whenever i want to purchase something I can with no hassle :))
