Very cool!

I still might purchase a HDD and upgrade my 40GB. Problem is I have no where to back the drive up to. Don't want to lose my saves or the full games I have paid for an downloaded.

Surely you have a USB stick? Save games are tiny, and you can download the games you've downloaded up to five times anyway :))

Yeah but have movies/music on it aswell. I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and make some space on my external hard drive and partition 40GB.

Well worth it.
damm i paid £60 for a 250gb hdd a few months ago:BLINK:

Just pop in your mem stick and fill it up then transfer to your pc and repeat the process until everythings been transfered. surely your mem stick has at least 2gb on it? unless your movies are HD and are over 2gb?

Better yet, do this. buy a hdd caddie and put your ps3 hdd inside it and connect it to your pc via usb and copy the whole thing in one go ;) i think your pc should read the ps3's internal file structure. if not, google and there should be a tool to do so.

here is a enclosure/caddie : http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?...ft-Skin+Case+for+Sata+HDD+to+USB+-Bus+powered

PSN to be global?

News out today suggests that Sony have relaxed the methods for submitting to the PSN so you only have to do it once and that applies for all regions. Hopefully this means an end to delays for things hitting Europe.

Oh, and the PS2 no longer needs approval for its content at all so effectively it has become wide open for anyone who wants to develop for it. That means it will be getting all sorts of crap.

Hardly any news and rumours about todays store update this week which is quite odd.

I have found though that Mirror's Edge will get a demo today and an Endwar demo will be heading to the EU PSN today (but apparently not until next week for the US)

a code for extra bits?

Just read you got a code for pre ordering and it unlocks extra stuff in the demo.

My guess is it'll unlock the time trial side to it - i saw it demoed on PlayR and it looks very hard. Although clearly there is one perfect set path that is very very hard... the dev playing the game attempted to beat the time to get 5 stars and was about 6 seconds off it without cocking up - i hate stuff like that.

Yep, time trials. I'm not likely going to be able to afford Mirrors Edge this month so an extended demo would do nicely.

That's assuming I like the demo, of course.

I got an email this morning saying that the next Qore episode is going to have invites to HOME - only for annual subscribers though.

As an update to the PLAYSTATION(R)3 News email sent on Friday,
October 24th, the special invitation to PlayStation(R)Home's closed
beta is available only to Qore annual subscribers who purchased
subscriptions by 10/29. Qore Episode 06 purchasers will not be
eligible for the special PlayStation(R)Home beta invitation at
this time. We apologize for the miscommunication.

Participation in PlayStation(R)Home's closed beta is limited to
those 18 years and older and requires agreement with the
PlayStation(R)Home Beta Trial.

The sly bastards - they did say that anyone who bought episode 6 would get in but they've gone back on that i see. Very shitty AND even bigger than that... it's not even available in Europe so once again we get the shaft.

Anyone plan on getting Quantum of Solace?

It looks good, no reviews yet though.

Tis a game I may pick up in a few months time and play, want to see the movie first.

Also people, I wouldnt bother with the End War demo, unless you really want to try that type of game out, didnt think it was that good, esp seeing its a 1.67Gb DL.

No you can play with drop down menu's, but I didnt find either system very easy to use, I may give it another go, but if you have a capped BB service, I dont think it's worth DLin, graphically I didnt think it was overly polished either, but not sure how old the build is.

Quantum of Solace got a 6.9 on IGN, 4 hours Single Player game, bobbins MP, pure rental then

EA forum moderators may soon have the power to ban naughty users from the game they paid for, as well as a whole host of the publisher's catalogue.

"Your forum account will be directly tied to your Master EA Account, so if we ban you on the forums, you would be banned from the game as well since the login process is the same. And you'd actually be banned from your other EA games as well since it's all tied to your account," said EA Apoc - supposedly community manager Aaron Kaufman - on the Red Alert 3 forum.

"So if you have Spore and Red Alert 3 and you get yourself banned on our forums or in-game, well, your Spore account would be banned too. It's all one and the same, so I strongly recommend people play nice and act mature."

We've contacted EA for comment, incidentally, as this seems rather silly; you may remember the about-turn issued by the publisher after a Spore forum moderator boasted similar powers to curb DRM chatter.

The PC version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 sits on shop shelves today, with the Xbox 360 offering to follow in November.

EA took over London's Trafalgar Square last night to celebrate, where actors from the game collided with press and public. Ellie bumped into Gemma Atkinson, who plays Lt Eva McKenna in the game. Find out what happened When Ellie Met Gemma very soon.

i could of sworn this exact same post was posted over on the 360 thread

4 hours is ridiculous. Games these days need longevity.

I'll pass on it then, the movie alone is 2 hours plus, 4 hours is a new low.

My bad, it felt like 2 hours, I went to a 12.50pm screening and just got back, those adverts are long and boring but the Orange guys make up for it.

You actually LIKE those Orange adverts?! I HATE them!

What did you make of the film?

I'll post it in the movies thread, its going off topic a bit.

Sony has filed a US patent for the "break apart" motion-sensing PlayStation 3 controller, confirming "source"-fuelled speculation from the summer.

This patent covers the special ultrasonic and video capture hybrid technology within the controller, which tracks three-dimensional movement of using data collected via Wi-Fi and the PlayStation Eye. And even Deborah Meaden would like that.

Those sources - from whence the initial chatter came - also suggested that Sony had shipped prototypes to developers for trial. There's no specific confirmation of this, but the existence of the patent adds further credibility to the claims.

Accompanying diagrams show the controller as a similar shape to the Wiimote, although more ergonomic, with a big blob on the end - presumably to increase visibility with the PlayStation Eye.

Both controllers can apparently be clipped together end-to-end, which makes them look a little like a double-sided maraca. And a traditional PS3 controller layout can also be attached across both pads.

Sony already has motion-sensing PS3 capabilities through Sixaxis, of course, although we've seen this added to games as little more than a gimmick so far. You use motion-sensing to turn a wheel in Killzone 2, in fact, which promptly confused all Eurogamer Expo goers playing for the first time.
