Sony PlayStation 3

UT3?

I was until I spotted no off line split screen modes.

It's nothing major but id hoped for off line support with bots so me and the girlfriend could have a game or a few hundred.

Online is where its at - but i hardly get chance to play online these days anyway

Fraid not, never a UT or Quake type fan.

Played Uncharted last night, tis a truly outstanding looking game, Naughty Dog have done incredibly well. Good colour palette, and so far the story seems good too. Shooting and hit detections seems a little hit and miss at times, but if you have a PS3, you really need to play it.
Have done mate and it is a decent title. Some of the other guys say its over too quickly though.

I have played quite a bit of this over my brother's and it's brilliant if a tad too short.

Jay, get this if you haven't already - best PS3 title out there (apart from FIFA 08) in my opinion.

Tis a good game, but I'm still waiting for a game that will blow me away...I think the new Paris Hilton game called "Kneescrapers" will probably suckceed. Sorry, I'm bored, I'm off now.....Again, my apologies

Right, say I don't care about backwards compatibility, or the size of the hard drive, or what corner of the globe it comes from. All I want it for is to play an imported Rock Band and a PAL Everybody's Golf (when it's out).

What is the absolute cheapest rock-bottomest pound-stretchingest price I could get a PS3 for?

LOL! YES! Jacks coming on board :-D

For a starter, on the AVF Forum classifieds, there are a few full sets of RockBand up for grabs - looking at around £120-£140 - but at least they are in the UK so you may be able to find one local to pick up and save on delivery and import charges.

As for the console? Bit out of touch now as I have the 60gb one which I think they have stopped now :(

I'm not on board yet matey, it's got to be bloody cheap.

I don't mind £100-£120 for Rock Band, but £250+ for a PS3 I cannot afford at the moment. I'm keeping an eye out on eBay.

LOL... get Rockband then, set it all up and then you'll find the £250!

Just as I type this, 'Sex Type Thing' by Stone Temple Pilots comes on my iPod and thats the DLC for Rockband this week - one of the all time great grunge tracks. Its fate Jack...

Sony desperately need to release an official headset. A bluetooth one and maybe a wired one that goes into the USB port on the pad. Not being able to talk to my mates is probably the only thing lacking right now on PSN.

They said they wont do that because the system is compatible with tons of bluetooth headsets.

Got a PS3 ordered for this weekend coming bundled with PES2008, what are the essential games i should be looking out for?, I'm not a massive driving game fan or american sports nba/nfl type bollocks.
cheers

Valve has confirmed that it has no plans for a PS3 version of Left 4 Dead.

Spokesperson Doug Lombardi said the developer had "limited interest" in working on the platform, and only offered Orange Box on PS3 because Electronic Arts had asked and taken care of it itself.

"EA wanted to do Orange Box on PS3 and they handled it," Doug Lombardi told videogaming247. "Left 4 Dead isn't coming out on PS3 because we've not had that call. If the phone rang we would have the conversation, certainly, but it hasn't happened."

Traditionally Valve has had a hard time working on consoles, according to Lombardi, and struggled developing Half-Life for Xbox many moons ago.

But the developer has since expanded and put together an Xbox 360 team to create console code side-by-side with its PC counterparts. And this is how Valve plans to stay for the time being, so any PS3 versions will have to be handled by a third-party.

Left 4 Dead is a sumptuous squad-based shooter that pits a group of survivors against the Infected, or zombies as we like to call them.

The interesting part is that not only can you join your friends on the survivor side, but you can also join others as the Infected. These consist of rank and file zombies that die as quickly as extras (you re-spawn as another upon re-death), but there are also boss types as well as others that act has walking time bombs.

You can play it on your own, or with the computer controlling the Infected - there should be difficultly levels hard enough for even the tightest team to be swamped in.

For those reasons and more, Left 4 Dead is already a well-tipped game of the year by many of us.

Left 4 Dead is due out in late summer on PC and 360, as Valve is taking its time to make sure everything is balanced and sparkly.

Pop over to our Left 4 Dead gamepage for shots and videos and cocktail sausages.

Another balls up by Sony.
