I was hoping those shots would hint at least to a "evening" option, 'cause I'm sick of only midday and night matches. Guess I have to lose any hope, since Konami would've advertised that as groundbreaking!

Wait a sec.. so, we'll not even be able to choose an hour of the day and play with that "fixed" light? SO no afternoon, no different shadows for different hours even if not dynamic? Not even that?

I hope I misunderstood..

Reading a lot of complains here about youtubers negatively influencing konami gameplay choices makes me think maybe we should spam their comments with constructive criticism on how the game really needs to be and why the way they view it is wrong? I mean voice the opinions we voice here anyway, but get the point across to the mainstream audience and get noticed in that youtube community somehow? At the very least it may spur a discussion there and change a few minds.

So when Konami lost the champions league and other lcenses their guys were saying nothing can’t be fixed without patches, option files ...etc

Now all the discussion is about leagues and teams that can be added with a little patch anyways...

But seriously what about gameplay and game modes?

Absolutely nothing new at all except this team and that league licensing mumbo-jumbo......3 passes and you’re through on goal is the power of football apparently....

Well, these leagues can't be added with just a little patch. They are a big addition to the database, but for them they are important mostly because they attract players of that country.

i can imagine how stupid and annoying it would look in a 5 min match. howd you implement that?
When they shorten a 90 minutes match to 5 minutes, does the gameplay move like you're playing the game in 8x speed?

Just like the gameplay, dynamic lighting doesn't necessarily need to be in sync with the match time.

Well they did say that "dynamic lighting" will pretty much be the same thing as "dynamic" weather, last year. I am also still hoping, even with the shitty way it's being implemented, that we'll get a third option for time of kick-off.

No offence but i think that one of the worst and meaningless things that you can do with your free time is to go to some fucking arcady loving youtuber's account and try to convice him for how the game should be lol.

Yep late afternoon time would add much more immersion and even fill in the gap sort of of the few stadiums.

How exactly did they utilize HAVOK that year (PES14)? Were any of the features reliant on it? I remember the name but not much else now.

I have to make a correction..I think R-stick feature was called "barycenter physics", could've been part of M.A.S.S. system but M.A.S.S. had a lot more things going on like weightiness and collisions that were also quite detailed. I mean, it was detailed enough when you bump into a guy, you can specifically feel if you bump into his legs or his body, coz the collision physics and animation would respond differently (limps with weight during contact, limps flying but restricted to joint movements, weight of contact transferred through the body to other parts etc). The inverse kinematics were on point

I think it was only used for cloth physics.

Yup, indeed. At least, as far as I know HAVOK was utilized in Cloth Physics (which were pretty dope in 2014 and petty much non existent afterwards).

Asim said that you couldn't set a specific time of day.
Educated guess: Day - Day/Afternoon - Afternoon/Night - Night. I think we'll have these 4 options to select.
I would put my money on that.

If it is true, it is really sad. Why they don't understand that the gamers lose interest in BAL exactly cause there is no improvement from ages? All other sport games include a very deep career mode where you can play as a single player and follow his Whole career, but no, they listen an analyst that probably did check only BAL and didnt care about other careers in sport games...

@Chuny i see it the same. put my money on it too! 4-6 options, but fixed ones (change at half time)!

btw: check you sig! its called "MSI Enthusiastic/Enthusiast Gaming Intel Z170 M7"! you have to look good here, my friend! :)

LOL
I renew my enthusiasm every year, and every I'm let down by Konami AND EA, mate. I don't know what to do anymore.
When I was 10, I used to think by the time I was 30 football games would be like, impossible to tell the difference between reality and the game. And here I am... 30 years old, and we're still trying to figure out if we're going to have fouls this year, and if perfect strung first time passes will still be the order of the day or we might actually have some human-like accuracy error.

i have that going for 8 years longer than you, so... :P
but i was the same. super hyper realistic soccer that looks like real stuff from tv. maybe with VR googles, electronic keeper gloves, a real ball with technic inside on a string, and such... :BYE:
man, how we were wrong. but as i look back, my expactations have changed since then (as i grew older and perspective changed). i dont need it to look super real these days, just convincing enough. what i still was hoping for, even beeing in my late 30s, a evolution in gameplay. the last 10 years hadnt had that huge step forward, imo. sure it evolves here and there a little bit, but nothing major! AI, this could be the next step. AI behaviour or routines in gaming overall! maybe we there in the future (enterprise holo deck style)! :D

Not important for some here, but i totally dislike the "old-fashionned golden" scoreboard, and whatever else.
Same as the PES 2017 and PES 2019 official ball (black/golden/white)... Seriously, does that color is a reference for whatever else in actual football except some shirt font? Wtf they've got with that middle-aged color?

I know it sounds like "legend", but come on, it looks like really unnatural.

Me too!
The whole UI this year is a kick in the nuts!

I mean...when was WE7I/PES3? 15 years ago? And in that game if A.I. is losing they’ll change formation, take off defender put on an attacking player, turn attack/defense all the way up. That was 15 years ago....let that sink in

not only did the cpu not change shape but left deep defensive line advance instruction on till full time after inter got a player sent off. smh. it needs to be smarter and react accordingly like in real life. if not wheres the challenge? are we going to have the cpu play a 4-5-1 from kick off if it is 3-0 down after first leg in a knockout round?

Considering the style of gameplay shown at the Pes Finals over the past 4yrs, Konami obviously like what they are seeing.
This is the biggest event to showcase Pes' gameplay worldwide. The hyper assisted, pingpong, every goal is the same, non tactical, Barca vs Barca stuff is what they are aiming for. If it wasn't they'd have attempted to change things.
Because very little has changed, we can only assume that it's a big thumbs up from Konami.
They've no interest in moving back towards the SIM direction of PES 14.

I really believe that Konami think that because of how poor PES 14 did with its audience that it was all about people rejecting SIM gameplay. Not that the game was the most unfinished, broken product in the history of PES.
I could be wrong lol, maybe they realised after one iteration of a SIM game that to keep going down that development route would be too much of an undertaking. Hence the dramatic shift to full arcade from '16 onwards.

Whatever the reason, this '16-'18 gameplay is here to stay for the foreseeable future. The only hope for fans of a more SIM game will be on offline gameplay options. The more options available to reintroduce the countless things Forums like this want. Tbh if it ever does come close to happening it'll take many years to implement incremental changes. They've shown their neglect for offline, and the old skool Pes players for a while now.

As it is, I'm trying not to think in terms of SIM or arcade too much. It's got to the point for me were I just want to get some of that old 'Pes feeling' back regardless of gameplay styles. All the emotions and challenges the game used to offer was vast. Now, my PES 'emotion' just strafes between dull and frustration.

im pretty was vialli is referring to the in-game graphics like scoreboard, pop ups like goal scorer, stats, teams. i agree with him. not only does the ui suck but the in game presentation too. look at this and compare it to pes 2015 & 2016. no sane person can say 2019's colours and style look better

Yeah, I'm talking about all of that. Menus, popups, etc.

On PC, we'll change that in no time. Have real scoreboards and stuff. But I really feel bad for the people on consoles.

UI looks terrible!
Konami is a 'Mobile' gaming company now. It's been their focus for a few yrs. The UI reflects that. Maybe it's the only kind of designers they have left now.
Still, looks like stuff from the early days of mobile games

I never understood why Konami don't try to get ESPN or FOX SPORTS or BEIN or whatever to sign some sort of partnership too. They may not be authorized to have the official EPL scoreboard, or LaLiga scoreboard, but they could probably create something similar and have real TV logos with some authentic branding from those broadcasters.

At 1:22 there is a stock photo on the stadium monitor showin the stadium in full daylight so maybe its indeed an afternoon match after all?

Every single video from the new code is horrific, absolutely terrible... I lost every bit of interest towards the game.
