Is 2019 more responsive than 2018? Because in 2018 I have to set it on +1 speed to even enjoy the game. Feels like playing in mud otherwise.

Do you remember PES 2014's HAVOK?.
Where the hell did that go? What the hell happened to it?.

ENLIGHTEN is the new HAVOK.

I just learned that HAVOK has been acquired by Microsoft and is working with EA.
So one of the strongest points of PES 2014 will probably never be coming back.

Quite clearly, not offering a deep, engaging BAL mode and fans subsequent disinterest towards it shouldn't entirely be fan's fault ? I mean BAL was the idea PES first introduced which FIFA copied and turned into a full fledged SP campaign called ''The Journey''. I play only FUT in fifa but i'm quite sure there is a big portion of FANs that anticipate Journey mode every year (which reminds me of how well 2k did when they first created similar mode).

Just for the fact, the first BAL mode was from the other ex department of KONAMI (KCEO) in ISS 2000 (N64) and was called imternational carrier??, or something similar, and the main object was to play for your Nation as at that time the mode had a few fictional clubs.
Anyway it is shame to abandon their own ideas.

"The Japanese version also features a career mode called "Success". This mode exists in the European release but was removed from the North American."

Alx you posted every day during pes 16 about how you wouldn't be getting pes 17, still got it and on 3 platforms, again during pes 17 going on every day about not getting pes 18, buys 10 copies apparently and now your not getting 19...

Nah. I consider these 10 copies a constant reminder of how konami killed off an epic world cup year which could be Messi/CR7s last. Such a poor lazy effort from POOnami.

I have tinkered so much with PES 2018 and taken ideas from forums that I conclude the game is just like BF1, COD....you play and play but I achieve NOTHING except bad teeth and a beer gut.

So online and MTX monetisation is the future for this series. Yay.

Alx1234 in near future do not plan to pay much attention to PES. Analysts say PES 2019 is PES 2017 v3.0. PES 2019 is not in demand. In this generation of game console mode, Tony must learn to better Engrish.

Have a funny feeling auction house may have been dumped this year with Konami using this new three player card system, hope i'm wrong though because it was the only way you could actually acquire players you wanted by using agent combinations, even though it was a slow process it was actually worth it in the end just to get a team on the park that you managed to put together all by yourself without all this random ball spinning nonsense.

@Volun @103SpooKy I want to ask you both one simple question:
Now that you've played it, and a few hours/days have passed by, would you recommend us to pre-order PES 2019?

This isn't a simple question for me to answer because I made my decision regardless of the gameplay months ago. For me the gameplay was always fine or at least nothing that stops me from buying the game. My decision to not buy the game this year is based on modes. On BaL and myClub to be exact. In the last years I barely played the game because these modes went downhill in 2013 and I bought it mainly to continue editing and contributing (now I slowly lose interest in modding. So there isn't anything [but Schalke?] that holds me any more).
Therefore I have to admit that I'm probably not the ideal person from the community to test the game early and give in-depth (gameplay) feedback.

On a different note I have to say that I really enjoyed playing it because Superstar difficulty + PA1 was challenging. Sometimes more sometimes less. But looking back at it there isn't much of a difference to PES2018 (positioning, tactics). First touch control, the "free" ball and the fatigue felt very good though. I think you have to play it for yourself to really feel these things. But I guess that doesn't help if you already dislike what you see in terms of positioning and tactical behaviour. (I can ignore these things to some extend. I'm sometimes even playing FIFA and CoD instead of PES and Battlefield just for fun)

Looking back at the wishes and views in this thread (Matt10L's analysis is pretty much on point) I can't recommend to preorder the game. But you can still preorder it after playing the Demo yourself.

More of a challenge than PA1 was manual passing with advanced through balls and one of the worst teams in the demo. The footage is up now btw. Please don't cringe too hard. I tried :II

Thank you for your point of view and honesty. This is exactly what I was expecting this year. If they could fix a few things here and there, I think the offline and Online crowd would be happy... Def trying the demo to feel it out....

@Volun @103SpooKy I want to ask you both one simple question:
Now that you've played it, and a few hours/days have passed by, would you recommend us to pre-order PES 2019? Or would you say it's best if we waited until the full game is out to see if some of the things we've been talking about here have been fixed for release?. Not like we're going to pre-order it and then blame you. It's just a supposition. Would you say that what you played is that good to recommend a friend of yours to buy it right away?.

Played PES2018 for 2000 hours. Have a history in game media for 10+ years now and how games are built. Not just the football games. To me its different all around the board. The passing, especially the shooting, the whole way the ball moves more free. The dribbling, the player switching, the snappyness of the tricks and especially the fake shot that makes sense. Paired with a huge graphics upgrade and better animation stitching once again and a lot of animations added. Then I add up all the league's this game will have which is the most PES has ever gotten. A revamped Myclub gamemode, small changes in ML with also the inclusion of every league structure. For a relatively smaller studio thats objectively speaking a lot they have updated within a year, less then a year. A lot of people around me went from FIFA to PES last year as they thought the quality was above average finally again (so do I) So I personally would recommend it in my own experience.

But then the personal flavour come in. What do you want from the game? Evo-web obviously is more die hard full sim based nowadays. But it goes both ways, there are a lot of people that don't like PES2018 and definately will not like PES2019 because its ''to hard'' or ''to slow'' or it ''doesnt have instant gratification as the keeper is saving to much'' I've seen it all already in a year.

So to me, as a youtuber, livestreamer, game reviewer for years. When people tell me in a stream ''Hey Spooky, is the game worth it?'' To whatever game I'm playing. I can't speak for that person. I personally would say yes if I enjoy it myself. I can't put myself in other peoples minds. But I will be playing it! And I have kind of Quit PES during all the PS3/XBOX360 era days (PES2008 to PES2014) as it just did not compell to me as much as PES4/5/6 did to me.

Thank you mean.
And yeah, no... I wasn't trying to make either of you say "yeah! pre-order it" so that I could hold you responsible if I didn't like it when I got it. I was simply trying to get an idea from people whose judgement I trust and who actually had time to play it, to see whether it was worth it or not, or if you would pre-order it yourselves based on what you felt when playing it.

However, as much as I actually still play and enjoy (to an extent) PES 2018 (mainly because of the mods and modding it myself with my turfs) I don't want to spend that kind of money on a PES 2018 1.2.

Thanks again mate.

and especially the fake shot that makes sense.

Wowowow... back up for a minute!
Did you just say that the fake shot has been fixed? I've been begging them to fix it for years? Last time fake shot made sense for me was in PES 2013 which was lovely!

Other than that, now that I read your whole post (I stopped and rushed in to ask you about the fake shot thing as soon as I read it), I really appreciate your post too as much as Volun's. Both were helpful to me. Of course, there's still a Demo coming up to make up our own minds, but I can get an idea of what I will probably feel by reading both your stories and knowing where you guys are coming from. So thanks.

Fake shots felt really good, snappy, and you don't fuck your very self with them all the time
And respect for the second paragraph, thats the healthy way to do it! Reading all these opinions just as opinions and translate it for your own flavour and experience to calculate the value for yourself. Lots of healthy discussions and talks these last few days. I'm not used to this guys:WORSHIP:

Hope the Random Select mode will be online. I'd spend a lot of time on it if I could play friendlies with mates...

... if they haven't removed it again that is.

Online servers need a massive overhaul too. If they're putting all there eggs in the MyClub basket again this yr, they really need to drag there online framework out of the dark ages.

It seems all the ones that where invited to these test playlists already liked pes 2018, so we are not really getting anything new from these guys playing it. Who are they listening to, the ones that already enjoy PES 2018! They don’t really have any input on the game, they seem to just play it and go along with it. Even when you read their reviews it’s mostly positive and so little to talk about the issues. It happens every year and last year was even more excessive. The reviews I read about this demo says it’s much better than the E3 build. Are they really that much of a sheep? It looks worse, the AI, the animation is sped up to make it super responsive, even if it takes away realism, passing is much more assisted and the game speed is faster. Yet very few pointed that out.

We need someone that knows the issue well and is not afraid to voice it because it’s hard for me to see how people actually enjoy playing PES 2018. The gameplay gets old fast, so many issues showed up and the ball physics gets worse and worse with more updates. AI is terrible and all that. I used to enjoy playing offline a lot and I will spend hours playing PES, but PES 2018 was trash, I can’t even look at it anymore.

Hey man don't discredit people just because they like something and you don't.
It's a matter of tastes.

I completely agree with you. Well I don't agree they are sheep. I think they just like the game they way it is and they have fun with it. I'd like to hear from someone that acknowledges the '18 had many problems and couldn't enjoy it (as I share the same thoughts and couldn't enjoy '18).
I respect the community that likes the current state of PES and appreciate some of their feedback, but I know I'm better off waiting from input from people that share my frustrations and provide the same criticism I have (ie: look at Matt 10's video and analysis).

We know the drill: E3 (PES wins best sports game)->closed beta (awesome code)->Gamescom (pes wins best sports game)-Demo (don't worry this isn't final code, bugs will get patched before release)->release date (backheel evolution '19 is released)

Let's be honest, they both nicked it from Libero Grande in the 90s

I reckon that is the next step for Random Selection or at least it should be.

Shame about BAL. It had so much potential when it arrived. Konami never did anything to improve it and flesh it out though. Bastards.

If they remove fixed cursor that'll be the end of PES for me. I stopped playing BAL after a few years because it was frustrating but it changed they way I played pes forever- I don't enjoy playing by switching players anymore, BAL inspired me to play fixed cursor, manual in master league with my created player. It'll be a sad day if it goes but won't really be a surprise.

Flamengo is the the worst team on the whole world.

I like PES 2018 but Im not liking what Im seen on these videos. I still think that animations are "better" on PES 2018. More authentic you know?

I will stop commenting and wait for the demo. I now when Im getting annoying.Lol

Much respect for all you guys. See you after the demo. Cheers.
