PES 2019 News Discussion Thread (INSULTS/DIGS = INSTANT BAN)

PS: Winning Eleven lost J League since 2015. That's being extremely frustrating, yet you don't see me cursing Konami and PES everyday here. And I am still super upset.
That's a bummer. I remember playing BAL in J2 back in 2007 and was so good. I think it was WE 2007 CC.

Its just some people seem to act like Konami removed the leagues for a chuckle. We know why they have been removed. If they found out the problem after they signed the new leagues, then they had no choice.
I can't see Konami having any other choice other than rewriting whatever they need too for 2020. So as much as some people don't like it, you'll have to make do without the leagues for one year.

Ive already said I couldn't care less about them two leagues but disappointed that they've gone as I want the league count to increase. Now, if they removed the English second division, that would ruffle my feathers.

Yes
"中國平安中國足球協會超級聯賽" = "Chinese Ping An CFA Super League"
"所有 16 個足球俱樂部" = "All the 16 clubs"
"都包含在遊戲中" = "In the game"

The meaning is just like the FIFA advertisement of J.League in 2016. Exclusivity is not mentioned.
image.img-1.jpg

Regardless exclusive or not, the fact they're getting almost every league licences, means they becoming more and more powerhouse. Gameplay is ain't so good but then it's subjective. You ask FIFA fan boys, you get different answer. Suffice to say, EA is now the 2K of football gaming this era.

FIFA has always been the powerhouse.
For me it's indifferent whether they get CSL license, as long it's not exclusive.

FIFA only cared about BPL until now, even La Liga was abandoned until this year. They take little care of other leagues, even decent leagues like Ligue 1 have very few scanned players. It will take centuries before they exploit their brand shiny new CSL League.

Let's see, EA has J League license, yet there are more J League players with faces on PES...

By the way, Konami did wrong by not investing on CSL earlier when there was no competition and their league was looking for visibility... But oh well... Konami...

Too precise.

Hi guys, i have a question, someone here knows about the license Uruguay National Team, will be with the Players licensed or not?

It was already explained that they had to make a decision, get over it man, it can't be helped, Konami won't remove a licensed league this year just for your Serie B .

If they saved space because they were negotiating other licenses and failed, they might put back the 2 D2. Otherwise it's a lost cause.

It looked unrealistic to include Serie B due to mess the league is going through anyway.
There's no way Konami had a finger on the pulse with what was happening in Serie B anyway, it only started kicking off in Serie B in mid-July; they'd have been well past the point of deciding to remove them by then as they'd already announced the new leagues.

Stop making excuses for them.

Now, if they removed the English second division, that would ruffle my feathers.
What's to say that isn't next? That's the point; they're setting a precedent with this that they're happy to remove second divisions. There's nothing to say the Championship won't be next; and then what?

I don't use Serie B or La Liga 2 but I can see the writing on the wall for the future.

See, guys, thats the problem right there. Im reading all the posts and I feel sorry for us. A lot of us grew up playing PES and we feel attached. A lot of us, including me, keep making excuses for them and we are all being naive. Year by year they were taking away good things from PES and we kept saying "ah, well...next year im sure it will be fixed".
Imagine how this game would look if they kept all the little things that people liked and kept adding more. And Im not talking about licenses here, im talking about gameplay and things like snow, or picking opponents for a friendly matches between ML seasons. Things that come back after few years being advertised as a NEW features and gamechangers. Dont you see how they are laughing at us?
We are all treating Konami like a small local shop on our street where our neighbour works (we need to support mrs.smith. she is a nice lady and trying her best)
Konami is huge, lads. Time to wake up. They are huge and they are laughing at us. Loyal supporters stopped matter when they created their online casino with all the spinning balls.
Even with all the things they had - what did they do? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Champions League was just a skin and music. They are just sitting back thinking gameplay will always carry them no matter what they do.
I can guarantee that at this point next year you'll be making excuses for them for removing something else, because they added cutscenes of managers during the matches or something.
Personally Im a bit tired of this. So ill take few years break and see reviews in the future before I decide to give them anything.
And in the meantime EA will most likely have all the european stadiums, leagues and get some boyo to nail the ball physics. Coz they are making progress, not playing with people like Konami does.

Completely agree and have been saying that for ages. EA are portrayed as this financial juggernaut and Konami like some pauper indie developers. Konami make $2bn a year! Yes, EA make $5bn but $2bn isn't chump change. They're choosing to limit investment; they're choosing to spend more money on legends than they are on improving their database and they're choosing to neglect offline by removing relegation/promotion in ML.

There aren't any valid excuses for the direction they're taking PES.

For me, I’m not bothered about the 2nd division losses because I’m more of a casual gamer nowadays and will just create a premier league experience. However, for those that do like the ML experience and 2 division status, it’s mind boggling to say the least.

Run out of space? 2018?.......I can only assume they have hit the buffers on budget but it still makes so little sense and money should not be excuse....they seem to be going from strength to strength:-

https://wccftech.com/konami-h1-2018-financial-results-gaming-growth/

I’ve long since accepted this game is a churn of rinse and repeat to somehow keep the perception of fresher things in each iteration. I can already see comments about adding back in for 2020, and so the anticipation cycle starts before 2019 has been released.....it’s a classic marketing strategy to keep making sales for the same product.

This game, by now should have everything, including an exceptional online, editable stadiums, adding chants, unlimited slots for kits etc...it’s truly possible but will not help 2020 and beyond sales....just business folks. As frustrating as that is, it’s simply profits & shareholders and where they can maximise cost ratios in developing a game, plus striking the balance of adding stuff for next years sales.

I’m more frustrated at Konami thinking we have all fallen off a Christmas tree.......yeah we believe you guys, I can’t wait to have my two tier football back in 2020....

Absolutely. Thats why its sad that so many people still believe them and make excuses for them. There is no excuses. Its all about money

But its starting to cost them support. Its 2018 and people want football experience. More and more people are ready to sacrifice a bit from the gameplay point of view towards bigger and better experience that EA is giving. Im afraid Konami might only wake up when it will be too late.

At this point it would be better idea to stop annual release. Create a proper game that has a complete experience, keep all the good things from previous versions, add some cool features, and start releasing new game every two or three years. In the meantime do few DLC's and updates and keep the game going and money flowing. And once you have enough new features, like cutscenes, youth academy, vastly improved gameplay or graphics - go and release new game. In 2018 there is no need to have a "new" game every year. Especially at the cost of cutting things out just to have something to add next year. This strategy will kill them.

No annual release ? where's the revenue for next year ? It would be worse if team/league license is paid annually, unless the clause to pay is per game release which i doubt.

The economic potential of the two companies can't be compared. PES is a better game but sells 40 times less. PES can't afford licenses and this is a fact.

https://metro.co.uk/2016/10/04/pes-2017-sold-40-times-less-than-fifa-17-6171611/
1) UK-only figures for 2017.

2) They sold around 2m copies of 2018 worldwide. A conservative estimate gives ~£72m in sales alone, before microtransactions. Hardly chump change for a multi-billion pound company that Konami are, making £2bn a year.

3) They've literally just afforded eight/nine new licences as well as continuing to pay legends big money.

Saying things are fact doesn't make it so. Stop making excuses for them.

Right; nobody was claiming otherwise. So what's your point here?

We are demanding Konami to compete in terms of licenses with a company that has much more money. PES has the licenses in which FIFA has no interest. It's happening these years and with this sales figures it's gonna be the same in the future.

No we're not. :SS
Read the complaints being made and you'll realise that it is nothing to do with licensing, as they didn't have the licences for Serie B or La Liga 2 anyway.

I simply addressed the "Konami have no money" argument, as it isn't true. Regardless of PES v FIFA sales figures, Konami have bucket loads of money to invest in the game, should they want to.

We do not demand KONAMI to compete nobody. We are not share holders to have such kinds of demands. We demand KONAMI to be decent and stable in their game developing and not do throw backs. This old used KONAMI-Cinderela story does not sell anymore.

Me [...] ...............Ok
I almost died.

But you're absolutely spot on. That's the reason I've not paid the full price for PES this year, and I'll hardly ever pay the full price for it again.

I like the restaurant comparison very much... And I'll use it to explain why I preordered the game for the lowest price I could find and I don't feel guilty, not even a bit.

I've probably eaten in this restaurant every single day during my university years, at least once a day, sometimes twice. I've spent countless hours trying to improve the look and feel of that restaurant, just because I liked to. I've never asked anything in return... But I know that the restaurant was so successful also because of the work of mine and of several people like me.

Then it started to change. It started to serve food that was not so good anymore. Its prices didn't change but the quality did, for the worst, and customers started complaining.

Several yaers have passed and now it looks like it came back to its past standards in terms of food, probably it even surpassed them.
It's just the atmosphere and the menu which don't feel "right" anymore. Back then you used to feel the magic upon entering the restaurant, now it just look like a messy place for kids to have their birthday parties in.
And the menu is way smaller than it used to be. Less desserts, less main courses... But the food is damn good again, and for me this is the most important thing. That's why I've started coming back to that restaurant in a regular fashion.

One day, last week, I ordered a dish of pasta and a steak, and they only brought me the steak.
"We can't serve pasta anymore, we're sorry" said the waiter. Out of the blue, with no apparent reason, they decided to ditch pasta from their menu. It wasn't one of the dishes people used to order the most, but it was good. And now it's gone.

I was already annoyed by then but hey, imagine me when I saw that they were trying to charge me the same price they did when I used to eat pasta and beef.
No good.
I clearly said to the waiter "I'll pay half of that, since you brought me half of the food and indeed the one you brought me was good" and he tried to complain, saying that I wasn't a loyal customer, but I told him to take it or leave it.

From now on, when I want to eat there, I'll make sure I only pay for what I'm given. I'm not paying the "full course" price knowing that they won't bring me a full course.

I still like the beef of that restaurant, I'll keep eating beef there. But I'll only pay for the beef.
If they brought pasta back, cooked it like it's meant to, brought some more desserts and maybe overhauled a little the venue to make it a little more welcoming for us oldies, I would consider ordering a full appetizer/first/second/dessert menu there again and gladly paying for it.

I have never complained about licenses.
But having second divisions is essential in Master League to create at least a taste of an authentic career. Same goes to all the other little things that they removed or dont bother to add..

What sort of an excuse is "our database is too small so we had to chop few things off"
Its basically like buying a car and being told you have no rear seats cos we had to fit this new, bigger, fancy glovebox.
Some people might not need rear seats, but we have to agree that they are sort of a basic fecking feature that should be in all of the cars, innit?

Simply for the clarity, in this perpetual Konami have bucket loads of money to invest in PES argument ... as a company in whole - yes they do, but ... gaming development isn't Konami's core business.

Just skim through pages 22 to 24 of Konami's fiscal report for 2017 ... entire Gaming & Systems segment contributes with slightly more than 10% of company's total revenue. PES being only one of the games they develop ... and god knows what Systems are

Sad, but obviously not so publicly known fact is that gaming development is far, far from the focus of the company. Totally unlike EA, which is, I believe, 100% software dev company, with a special subsidiary dedicated to sports titles only (EA Sports).

Konami earn their bucket loads of money through gambling machines (Pachinkos - a.k.a. Digital Entertainment) and spa's (Health and Fitness). So where do you believe they will reinvest most of their profits?

Yet another time: removal of unlicensed second divisions isn't about licenses. Just stop making excuses. This is entirely their fault.

I'm disappointed in some of you guys, we should be united, one single very loud voice complaining and making them understand we can't accept such backwards steps yet you see people saying:"well, i don't care, i never used second divisions" or others saying "well, you can't expect them to compete with EA". This is exactly what Konami is hoping would happen, they hoped people would have thought it like a shame but not big deal. Luckily many showed them they were really wrong and it's not the first time either they are so out of touch they are somehow caught by surprise by the feedback.

Always support people asking for improvements, even if about something you are not interested in as long as many people think they are useful. I don't care about sliders, i don't think sliders are useful for Pes, but if many people want me to make some noise and make KONAMI understand they need more customization options i'm in and support them 100%. In the end it's all done to have a better Pes game, that's something that will beneficial to everyone.

Don't be selfish.

I can't see Konami having any other choice other than rewriting whatever they need too for 2020. So as much as some people don't like it, you'll have to make do without the leagues for one year.

That's speculation and makes no sense, really. Konami are simply inept and out of touch. They prove it year after year.

This!
If it were a licensing issue, I'd say "OK; at least they tried".

But I'm not happy with the "we're such amateurs that we cannot fix a random problem that popped up with the EDIT file which we made too small to hold all the data we had to put in". Just sayin'... First excuse that crossed my mind.

Whether this is the real cause or not, if they keep going for the "technical problem" route they're saying to everybody they're just amateurs.
