PES 2019 Discussion Thread (PS4, XB1)

That Daniel :MAD: is exactly what he is doing. And the agent was to make gamers make money. I said this many times. This game has gone online. And making money from the May Club section. it's shamefull . But it's true. Bitter truth.

My Tweet About That. https://twitter.com/Romell88/status/1036456622627999749

Daniel benefits from PES's success as he more or less works for Konami as part of their PES League set-up. That's why for years I've opposed his words in WENB and then during his short spell here. He isn't and never was a neutral voice in the community and his words weren't worth the paper they were written on.

Full manual is really tough! :D

Between each pass assistance levels which one take player stats into account more?

I think PA1. Not in normal pass but on through-balls and crosses, great passers really shine.

This is the eternal question! :) I can't use PA1 online because everyone uses top teams and in those teams all players are good passers. And since PA1 still is more assisted than stat- based it result in a ping- pong party.

I would probably go PA1 if there were team filters though, like A/B/C- teams.

But regarding manual passing. I can't say for sure it still has some assist to it but it is clearly a difference when using regular manual passing and L2- passing. And it might be placebo but I Always feel more in control with my passing when having the ball with players like Veratti or Ziyech.

Shooting though, I use Advanced for a couple of reasons. Firstly I feel that's were stats shine through best in this game. Secondly you acctually can use R2- shooting which is incredibly hard or broken when using manual. And lastly it seems to create more unexpected and different trajectories.

Gotta give credit where it's due. Physicality feels very good. I'm thinking more than I'm used to. I'm telling you the last games for many years have ruined us. Also, my players are intercepting much more than in previous games too. They seem very perceptive and put out a leg or their body, instead of staring at the ball while it passes next to them.

Good job.

For the love of God though Konami, please, do something about this one dimensional CPU AI wing-to-near-post-then-multiple-backheels-in-the-box attack. I don't mind it, but not all the time :/

@Emroth you started winning, man?

Remind me again, did you go full auto? Both pass and shoot ? And also advanced through pass yeah? Lol you don't hesitate at all hey, going in strong hahahaa.

I'm starting to get the feel of it, starting to win here and there in Top Player difficulty; mind you only manual passing for me. I won't do shooting nor advanced through ball. Not now, not ever.
No I didnt! :D not on Top Player, anyway!
Every now and again, when frustration is reaching boiling point, Im switching back to PA1 to rest my troubled mind for a bit, haha! And that was on PA1.
And no, I didnt go full auto. Same as you - just passes for now. Shooting is not impossible, but playing against CPU is more frustrating than against human so for now I have auto shots.
I tried these advanced through balls as well but this circle is annoying me..:D
Its a tough journey to Manual..

UK sales figures are out. 2nd in the charts behind a week 2 F1 game and down 42% from its last release weekend.

...
But who cares when there are single individuals sgelling out 3 grand on myclub

Its sad to see so many people in here talking about offline since it does not represent what this game is made for, which is human vs human. Playing the garbage mode that is myClub the past 2 days have been nothing more than disgusting. I regret buying this game and will never ever buy another PES again, not even gonna try out next years demo.

As if going from MLO to scripted online casino myClub years ago wasnt enough, now we got freak players like 93+ rated Simeones getting through balls. Whats next? 99 rated Bezema? He sure had a good game yesterday! But anyway, my disgust doesn't just come from the crazy high rated freaks in this game, but the terrible gameplay. My last match on myClub i beat a 700+ rated player and i felt disgusted. The game was HORRIBLE like all matches. Hold X and Square in this game is extremely strong, ping pong passing like every year, and oh... this is the through ball game, i had to be on my toes all game always trying to stop the through ball to the stearlings dembeles or whatever the hell he had. I won 4-1 scoring same old boring goals, running with Mbappe 1 on 1 with GK, same, same same.... zzzzzzzzzzz. Game was basically a cluster fk of preassure, ping pong pass, and CPU defending more than the player.

I barely played the demo and my guess is not only there were no myClub freaks there or any scriping, but tons of noobs who dont hold X and square. So when you get into the full game, aka the real deal, you get hit with all this trash against people that actually want to win the match and thats where the true face of PES comes out. Every year, same story! Its so boring now i had enough. I sweart after 2 days all the goals i scored already feel repetitive!!!

Whilst i agree with some of what you are saying, i can help but feel you are just moaning for moaning's sake.

You are scoring the same goals, but have you tried to play a different way? i find i sometimes slip into going down the wing crossing into the striker, laying it back to a midfielder and scoring the first time lay off. Its boring and repetitive but its MY fault for slipping back into that manner.

I agree that PES this year is annoying and frustrating especially when the AI strikers seem more interested in getting into goal scoring positions than my 90 rated Lewandowski...

I unlocked legendary difficulty yesterday and i am truly amazed. It widely fixed the passive AI behavior in midfield, players are closing you down and their attention to the ball is present in every second. Aborting attacks and saving the ball by passing back into your own half is an absolute must, which is a completely new experience in today´s soccer games.

Best of all, it comes with no real cons: The CPU is a lot more clinical, but still humanized enough to panic when they are pressured and make easy passing errors from time to time.

Playing on -2, manual controls, low teams and legendary level provides the best soccer simulation gameplay of all times in my opinion. Credit where it´s due. If Konami can be bothered to fix a few niggles, this game can easily be an everygreen of football gaming. I am very surprised how much they did right this year.

Pes 2019 sales in UK dropped by 42% compared to last year.

It sold around 11,500 - 14,500 units. I think this shows this year it will be a big drop worldwide because they lost Champions League license.

So, releasing the game one month before Fifa didn't change a bit, sales are a lot worse and now they even have released an unfinished game, even more than recent games, with the CPU issues, AI bugs, etc.

These issues will definitely not help them with sales during the coming weeks and they already lost so many sales in launch week.

I said this a few times before but there is no benefit to releasing a game this early unless its 99% finished.
They shouldve waited, got all the transfers done, got everything needed for a DLC (Stadiums, Kits, faces etc) so that when you buy the game its ready.
No one should have to buy a game and wait a month or so for it to be finished. If thats the case then take the money out of my bank account when the games finished not before.
Also, how about testing the game before you release it? Anyone can see that ML is broke and the AI needs tweaking in the final third.
I get they want to beat FIFA onto the shelves but in 4 weeks time PES will be blown off the shelves by FIFA no matter what they do.
The loss of the CL licence is huge and I think Konami have underestimated that but again its probably out of their hands, uefa want their prime competition in the worlds biggest selling game and not in a game that sells 11,000 copies in the FIRST week.

Remember, it's all part of the plan. :FAIL:

Maybe if they have the plan to kill Pes, that was a good decision.

Anyway i also watched concurrent players on Steam compared to last year and they lost some sales there too.

Surely Konami are already in the red with PES19 in the UK.
I cant see it being around in a few years unless they replace their whole strategy.
If its ready in November each year then so be it - at least it will be ready.

Don't agree with You. Put Premier League with all stadia in Pes 2019 + LALIGA with all stadia+BUNDESLIGA and you will see sales. All kids will buy Pes 2019 with this kind of package.

football games are not made to be played full manual and low tier teams, we just ask konami to give us less assisted passing on pa1 and more variety on shooting on basic shooting, you are definitely looking at the filled half of the glass and not the empty one, but one can t overlook how crazy assisted this game is on basic shooting and pa1, i find people constantly trying to defend this product no matter what, and they are ready to pay 60 bucks for a not complete game...

I can completely understand your view and i am lucky that these restrictions are not seen by me. PA1 is simply overassisted and needs to be toned down.

By the way, i am of the opinion that football games are not made to be played with support wheels.

I'm angry for KONAMI becuse they had HUGE chance to buy BUNDESLIGA licenses few moths ago. They negotioted but EA bougt it. They should invest in it and show a world that they still in a "game" with a competitor. HUGE chance to get BIG licenses league......

I think the opposite, they shouldn´t waste their money on licenses and follow a community-based concept like rfactor. PES has always been strongly depending on community support.

Who care about CL without all teams, stadia and proper online mode? I will say again, again and again. Licenses, licenses and licenses. Seabass said it 10 years ago.

Not really going to work as a marketing pitch is it? "Hey everyone, although the game is completely broken out of the box, if you spend time unlocking a hidden difficulty, play with no assistance and only use weak teams it's the best footy game ever. Pre-order the Justin Bieber edition now!".

I really hope this sales drop is replicated across the board, maybe it will give them the kick up the ass they need. In all likelihood though they will double down, after all the "data" will suggest even less people are playing offline so clearly there is no demand for it any more.

No, it won´t work as a marketing pitch. But there were years (highlighting the years 2016/2017) were you could do everything imaginable and it still was a undemanding arcade mess.

I am not expecting Konami to sell a simulation game right out of the box in these time and days. But i expect them to make it configurable (like FIFA) to get a decent football experience out of it. At at the moment, it can deliver with the proper settings.

I expect Konami to take a drastic decision. Be the hardcore gamers football game, otherwise they will never distinguish themselves. Try something that Fifa never tried.

There are lots of people wanting hardcore football games and nobody even tried to reach them.

The drop in sales may be expected by konami.

A year of minimal change, cost-cutting (licences), lacklustre servers proves useful research.

In this case, anyone who buys PES 2019 and their data is the real product here.

At the end of the day how good some product is gauged from the sales and profit they made. For increasing the sales big impact has their PR team. Licences were never a pes thing, the gameplay was. We can`t compare PS2 days and now becouse little generations today want different things from the game itself. Imagine if Konami go and create real simulation game without licences and give us tools to add stadiums, kits, badges etc. I am sure that many people will not buy it becouse again it will not be complete package for them and becouse of the learning curve of the game. Today`s kids want to play and win all the time, have everything and have it now. I will say again, if I am at Konami some faces with their attitude doesn`t deserve to represent Pes, also some of the testers at Konami, game with this code should not be released. I will go simulation all the way and don`t hesitate what our sales be becouse I know that after some time people will get bored from the other game and start to enjoy it. Look at the sim racing state of the games, they compete which game is more realistic and authentic but there is "war" also. Project cars gives huge content from the start and it`s great game but Assetto Corsa with it`s physics add another dimension, here is rFactor too. I will go Assetto way and I know that after some time real fans of the sport will be on my side but they need to work with community more and directly, not organising lunches and playing finished game before release...

Konami is sticking by PES only to see if the online MyClub gives them profit. If not, they'll discontinue the game, which is a known rumour in the industry for a few years now.

If that drop in sales is extrapolated across all of their markets then there is a danger that Konami will pull the plug Regardless of whether you are a fan of the series or not that would be bad news as competition is always good for the consumer and keeps EA on their toes with FIFA.

I thought the same until PES2018. But there were too many gameplay changes (mostly for the good) recently to be confident they are just milking the cow.

It´s still a long way to go, but after years of following the wrong track i have a feeling they have found the right one again.
