PES 2017 - PC Version Discussion Thread

There are many versions. I personally recommend using either V3 or V4 with their respective updates!
But if you want something closer to the original season (as both versions above are for the 2021 season), you can try this version, although it might have some bugs (never tried it myself, but the other versions say they have bug updates and fixes).

I played several seasons with V3 and no problems!
 
So I've tried this pes 2017 again on xbox. Loaded my old save with SL Benfica and played on manual passing. At the beggining I admit it was weird getting back from pes 2021. But now I can't stop playing, and I've realised that it has been more than 15 matches since I last screamed at the TV, frustrated lol.

This game feels way more responsive to my comands, way more realistic. Dribling does actually make in impact, and it feels so, SO less scripted!
Ok there's some minor things like te stamina system, or the somewhat robotic movement sometimes, but at the same time it looks so natural, so "possible"... And mainly, matches are diferent! CPU is way more balanced, and human like, way more than the 2021 version. To be honest, it looks like I only loved 2021 because of it's look, and animations here and there, and the pace is also pretty much nailed... but the repetitive gameplay, the referees, the boring CPU... I think I won't be playing 2021 for a good while.

As a long time fan of their works, and considering that I'm usually sticking to the original season of a game when possible (well, when possible... Shame on you Konami!) I'd say that PTE Patch 5.3 surely deserves a try.
The only downside is that it doesn't feature licensed leagues instead of PLA and PAS Leagues (unlike, for example, the latest Evo-Web patch for PES 2021 which is its spiritual successor).

Well in terms of graphics, PES 2018 is the superior game. It has some very nice lighting and the players and the pitch have a sharper image.

But in terms of gameplay, I prefer PES 2017. The AI seems more varied and the gameplay itself seems more balanced for my taste.

Still, you can't go wrong with either title. They are both great games! My go-to patch for both titles is Smoke Patch, easy to install and very complete. :TU:

is there any v-sync tool for pes 2017 that works with amd ryzen cards?

i have microstutters, because i can't get v-sync.

I'm mostly a PA1 player in PES 2017, and I wanted to have a gameplay which featured more errors in the matches! Even though I love PES 2017 vanilla gameplay, I think this is a cool feature that Sensei Holland made, makes the games more realistic and featuring more randomness, which I think really adds to the fun! :)

You can try playing this in combination with vanilla dt18 and it works great! Personally, I am playing with this dt18, which I posted just above! I've really enjoyed games in my ML with this combo! :TU:

Instructions: Back up your vanilla exe and dt18 and install the preferred mods in the corresponding folders! I would advice against verifying steam files, (I had to reinstall my complete patch when I did this, so backing up/replacing your .exe and/or should do the trick).

I use this one :)

You have to link on "original download link" and go through several link shorteners, but after doing the procedure it is accessible. It is a dt18. Put it in your data folder (making backups of the original one in case you want to revert)

And also, I like to use Holland's modified .exe, which decreases pass errors, available here :TU:Put it in your main PES 2017 folder (making backups of the original exe)

There's no need to generate in dpfilelist generator right? I mean for dt18. And for mod from Holland is that decrease error for CPU or for user? Because i've been playing ML this days and the AI was really smart and op, is really different when i playing on exhibition match

DPFilelist generator is only for files in the download folder, not data. (and also, if you are using smokepatch, don't use DPFilelist generator).
So there's no need to generate.

All you have to do is put the new dt18 in "data" folder and you're good to go.

As for the .exe, I believe the pass errors increase both for the player and the CPU's team, butI 'd advise to revert back to vanilla if you're finding it too hard in Master League.

Nah bro, now im using t99 patch cause smoke patch have been stop to update for pes 2017.

Okay bro i will try this mod, see if this makes any difference on the gameplay. Btw thanks for yur help, i really appreciate it! i will back and share my opinion after i try it

There's big difference, especially for the game speed, goalkeeper and CPU. I play ML with real Madrid and at the start of the season i have to play against barca for Supercopa de espana. Before i try this mod CPU really aggressive from the start of the game until the end of the match, they do a lot of tackle, pressure even my defenders got a lot of injury. I'll understand in real life there also game that they're pressuring opponent even from early game but this is really annoying when the CPU just do a lot of sliding tackle even when the score still 0:0 and when they cannot steal the ball from it. And the most annoying is the referee just didnt stop the game and let CPU play on but when i do the sliding tackle the referee didnt did it and right away stop the game and give me a yellow card. I have try the mod that you share and i love the gameplay, i using -2 game speed and its make it really slow and i think very accurate with the settings It wasn't like before I installed this mod, -2 game speed but it felt like 0 game speed. Second the goalkeeper feels like kinda nerf maybe, cause at some moment they event cannot catch the ball, the ball wasn't even as fast as it ended up having to be pushed over and i setting Courtois playing style with offensive goalkeeper but he plays like defensive goalkeeper. Previously, if the enemy managed to get past the defender and faced the goalkeeper one on one, the goalkeeper usually went forward on his own without having to press triangle, but this the goalkeeper just stay in place and then goal, its make sense if the goalkeeper ovr was around 70 this just doesn't feel right cause this is Courtois with almost have a perfect attribute, actually im okay with this but it still feels kinda strange like Before installing the mod, Courtois made a lot of saves cause CPU always pressure and make a lot of shot and i really thank fully my goalkeeper is Courtois, but after installing the mod, his abilities seemed to be reduced and he conceded very easily. Third the gameplay was really realistic the CPU really conservative they playing with their Tactics and really calm and its really fun, but after i make a scored they started to attack and put a little pressure on the defense area, its really challenging that we have to maintain the scored. I really loved it for now thank you

whatever u do to those pes 2017 to pes 2021, they will still be one dimensional in the shooting department, the cpu ai will always try to score same goals, the randomness is not anymore like the old pes games, shooting variation is non existent almost, i ve lost hope with konami, im playing fifa 16 modded for ball physics, makes it feel like pes but with so many shooting variations u won t feel repetitiveness.

u r just thinking placebo effect, i ve tried everything with the new pes games, the random gameplay of the old ps2 games is not there anymore because of the generic automatic shooting mechanics they implemented... unfortunately, its in the code of the game

This modded dt18 I've been using seems to have nerfed shooting power a bit. Honestly I'm fine with it as it's keeping scores lower. Very physical 'friendly' against the Italians. Locatelli got sent off. Probably shouldn't have been the only one. Felt more like a rivalry match than a friendly.

Top player. -2 game speed. 20 minutes. Fixed cursor ML.

I think yes but it's not big deal once you get used to play the game, the game quiet easy. The biggest bug in this game would be the "ghost goal" bug, it's unfixable until pes 2018

Idk if you still had the game on steam, play the patch 1.02 + use nesa's tool to remove the bug. PES 17 1.02 is the best version of this game :))
