I was planning on archiving those old versions of 2017 for a while now.
I had to do it for Fallout 4 the other day so I finally tried for PES 2017 & it worked like a charm.
You can find all the required file information for any steam games here -
https://steamdb.info
The info we need specifically are the appid, depotid & manifest number.
https://steamdb.info/depot/456611/manifests/ - Here are all the default depots for 2017
The manifest at the bottom is the initial release, 1.00. And the one above it, 1.01 & so on.
Now you open the steam console by opening the run command with Win+R keyboard shortcut & run this command
steam://open/console
You can also use this command in any web browser & it will prompt you to open steam.
Once in the console you can enter command lines at the bottom. So far I have 1.00 & 1.02 on the suggestion of Hayes, thanks mate!
Command is ..
download_depot appid depotid manifest, so it looks like this
download_depot 456610 456611 2073647000128372471
-
Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 1.00
download_depot 456610 456611 5053435469468729402
-
Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 1.02
Steam will download those files into
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_456610\
The depot folder in there is whatever PES2017 you have decided. Should be called
depot_456611
You can delete the whole download folder in your original PES 2017 because the DLC & DpFile you need is already in the depot folder.
Before we transfer the files, to make sure steam doesn't overwrite again (Not today gaben!),
go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps
if you installed on your C drive.
If you installed on another drive it will be here drive:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\
Look for
appmanifest_456610.acf , right-click it , properties & set to read-only. Also would be good to backup & delete the whole KONAMI folder in my documents if you have previous saves & files from 1.05.
Then you can copy all the files from the
depot_456611 into your original Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 folder & replace all.
The only files left that don't get overwritten are your specific language files, which are required.
Wow, that looks like a lot of text. I tried to be basic but here we are lol. Once you do it you will see how easy it is though.
