PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Blockbuster have just emailed me to say my pes 2013 steel book has been dispatched..
Awesome if it arrives tomorrow.

I remember getting pes 3, 4 and day early and then pes 5,6 a couple of days early from woolworths of all places :)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

So you have to equip boots if you get them? You can't just ignore them too, if you want?

I think you can unequip the boots, since you can also change them in between players. But then everybody has 'default boots'

Cheers – and your answer means the boots are optional too!

Ignoring these features isn't ideal, but is a good fallback for those who loathe the very notion and aren't ready to give it a chance yet.

I'm hoping there'll be something substantial and 'Master Leaguey' behind it all. Any idea yet of how the items/boots etc. are being bottlenecked in the internal economy of the mode? Is it easy to get them or hard?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

is nobody concerned about the new quit at half time online thingy????

it seems to me that all ranked matches will end at half time this year...

surely that cant be true ?? :O cheating is crazy in the lobbies bad enough in a full game but to quit at half time that will :BRMM: everyone mad with regards to the guys who hate losing ....

say your 2-0 up in the first half you get to half time the guy just quits ... end of the great come backs

i dont play much lobby football anymore due to running a very unique pes community/site catering for pure styles of pes and a player manager aspect of creating your own squad from 75million and taking your team to the field after a weeks trading with other managers in the league via our virtual transfer market .... thank god lobby footy is a thing of the past for me might be for alot of others

Yeah basically.

I think it's important that folks know that it is optional regardless of good/bad before assuming the worst.

The difficulty of gaining those items depend on 'you the player'
You only get around so much 40/50(?) GP (points) per game which you can then use to invest in an item. So if you have 200 GP you can for ex, buy 1 point for any stat, which you can then assign to any player (and switch between players afterwards by equip/unequipping that particular item). Some items have a duration.
I heard if you play online that you'll earn more points to invest in your ML.. but i'm not confirming this yet. Some stat boost items take up GP 5.000! So it's not broken unless you use unlimited GP and invest it all etc.. the rest is self explanatory
But again it's all optional.
Boots are unlocked via a different method playing games/buying players(incl their boots) and such.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Guys do we have the no-blur effect patch for the full pc version of the game? This blur effect is killing me...

It'll certainly make it worse and promotes not seeing games through - which is terrible sportsmanship.

The genuine quitters will always quit whether there is a button or not, they'll even pull out the ethernet cable if they have to. Sad bastards.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Right, so where do I get the best option file to load onto my PS3 tomorrow?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Sorry, I'm still banging my head off the ground at the removal of league mode.

I've never been interested in training poles or looking after budgets - if I want to play a manager game, I'll play a manager game, thanks... and a proper one, not one aimed at kids. It would be nice to do transfers, but I hate the way that after a year or so you've got Puyol at Real Madrid, Crouch at Barcelona etc etc, complete joke. League mode avoids all that crap, and you still get the Champions League and Europa League integrated, the officially-licensed ball and adboards (if the league is fully licensed) and so on. It's always been the only way to do a league season in PES games, ever since it was introduced. It's my thing; it's what I do offline. This is before you even get to the magic boots bullshit. (And anyone who thinks it's clever to say "my God stop moaning, are you that worried about something small like boots?" just blows my mind... is there any kind of piss-taking, realism-destroying, corporate-led gimmick that you feel wouldn't destroy the atmosphere of PES and turn the game into a laughing stock?)

This year, as a stadium nut, I'd already decided to play La Liga again, as my mouth was watering at the La Liga stadium pack, the answer to my prayers. More realism, deeper immersion than ever before! Har har har.

At best, I might be able to make a league format in Konami Cup mode, assuming it's that flexible. But what's the betting that there's an 18-team maximum for absolutely no reason at all, or something absurd like that? And you won't get the Champions League / Europa League included, let alone the official league ball. Perhaps I'm asking too much and it won't actually be possible to play any kind of league at all. What joy.

Last night, as I went off to sleep, I was wondering why Konami decided to remove this... and suddenly the penny dropped. Presumably they're forcing everyone to play ML. They're forcing everyone to play ML because of the whole boots thing. It's not just some ill-advised gimmick - it's front and centre in their thinking, the key aspect of PES 2013. All that supposed work on the gameplay, it's all secondary to the magic boots, which are the number one priority this year, to the point where the game modes have been butchered to force everyone to experience that joy.

Now why would that have happened? Could it be because the whole thing is some kind of tie-in with Adidas and Nike, and one of the conditions of receiving money from those loveable sweatshop-funded corporate teddybears is that no one must be allowed to play a league season without their magic boots being a key component? And to ensure this aspect of the game can't be overlooked, the visual realism of ML must be destroyed so everyone who isn't wearing a pair of magic boots is very conspicuously wearing plain black clogs from 1965? So that the whole universe of football sim Pro Evolution Soccer is ruled by corporate-branded boots with special powers? I'm only speculating here, maybe I'm wrong. But if I'm wrong, Konami really are the stupidest company in the entire fucking world. And if I'm not, they're craven sods who have sold "our" game down the river for the sake of cold hard cash (which we know damn well will not be ploughed back into licenses or game development, it'll go straight into the Konami coffers and stay there) and they should be told in no uncertain terms that if they ever do it again they may find any material gains offset by the sudden drop in the number of PES players. It's bad enough this year... we all know there are lots of FIFA players planning to try PES again - what are they going to think when they splash out the best part of forty quid, go into a season, and realise they've just bought some kind of Japanese card-collecting game?

I don't know... maybe league mode is coming back in some kind of DLC. But that makes no sense whatsoever, so I really don't think so. I'd be pacified if it happened, but I can't imagine that for a second. I think this is the way Konami have chosen to take the game. If they carry on down this road, they can stick their Fox engine up their backsides - PES2014 may as well not be released. At least as far as I'm concerned.

spot on m8!!! typical konami the old 1 step forward 2 steps back
formula they do over and over again. its piss poor hence i will not be buying it on release day i shall wait for some reviews first
especially after that pile of scripted steaming turd of a game that was pes 2012.

Some people, of course, pre-ordered long before any of this came out. How nice for them.

Let's not forget that Konami didn't warn us about any of this - for a big exciting new feature they're going to base the game around, the whole magic boots gimmick was kept a bit quiet, wasn't it? How odd. I'm no fan of Adam from WENB, but credit to the guy for warning people (without him we wouldn't have heard a word about this until release day), especially considering the consequences. And they didn't tell a soul about the removal of League Mode either... but that's hardly surprising. It's not as if anyone was ever likely to guess either of these "innovations" - they were just leaving them as nice surprises for people who'd already handed over their money.

You'd almost think they knew damn well this stuff would be incredibly unpopular. In which case... no, I'm not even going to finish the question.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

It was me who said it.. and i said it because i have the game. So yes optional except for boots.

Thanks for confirming that. But when you say it's optional, does it mean we don't have to use them, or we can actually turn the feature off before setting up the ML?

The boot scandal I still can't imagine how will work. What sort of impact it will really have, and if CPU players will be severely boosted by it.

In your other post you say you can buy a player from a CPU team already equipped with a boot. But why would they do it? I mean, if we sell a player, it's obvious we will assign their special boot to another player we're keeping, right?
Or maybe if we want to offload a player badly, we can assign him the boot to sweeten the deal? "Burchet is a very hard working player, and he comes with this beautiful pair of Nike Vapours in mint condition!"

Oh Konami... only Konami :P

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

He means you can choose not to assign the boots, the feature cannot be turned off.

You can't turn off the boots, but you can choose not to use them I guess.

edit: beaten like an unwanted stepchild.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I wanted to preorder the game, especially after that I heard that there were all the 20 original stadia of La Liga, then fortunately I didn´t.
Normally only EA is doing things like that, therefore I never preordered FIFA. But perhaps now Konami is doing the same as EA.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

He means you can choose not to assign the boots, the feature cannot be turned off.

Yes, this much I understood. But we were also discussing the other stupid RPG elements aside from boots: boosters and enhancers for training (such as the stopwatch, buying +3 on all attributes, gym gear, tracksuit, whey protein, steroids, uppers, and so forth)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

lets hope, in community we can still play proper league mode

You CAN play a proper League Mode in Community, that's why I've never really understood what all the fuss was about. Sure they have taken the option off the front menu, but it's still more than available in Community Mode. It's as if people have never even used offline Community Mode in PES 2012. You can set up any League with up to 20 Teams, you can choose all the match settings, and all the teams. If you want all La Liga then pick all Spanish teams, if you want all English, same again.

If you wish to create your own Super League, either European or I guess even mixing in the Brasilian teams now, then you can do that. Or, if you wish, go National teams. You even have the option to pick your own fixtures and which order they are played. You can do this with either a solo campaign or up to 20 humans. It's all there. You can even name the league as well if you want, to keep it authentic. You have the Top Scorer and Assist charts on tap as well. It really isn't a big deal for those who do not wish to play 'Jimmy Grimble' in the Master League.

For those who are worried or concerned, create an offline Community in PES 2012 and have a look yourself.

What does concern and bemuse me, is the reason for omitting Community Mode from the initial release. That's very bizarre. It was a fantastic addition last year, and is a massive part of both Online and Offline PES single or multi-player gaming. It's crazy, I have no idea why that would be. It also means until it becomes available in DLC in October (WTF?), then offline single or multi-player leagues are out of the equation. Which is a fucker for my weekly PES Lads Night and the 2013 Premiere tomorrow night. :(

Calcio, totally agree about the over-hit high cross-field balls, I'm loving how you have to weight them. Also try tapping square a direction and then R2 for scooped pass over the top over a short distance, I'm loving those in crowded areas. Shame that although the trajectory is from a scooped technique, the animation is more of a clip with no follow-through. I wish they would sort their shit out with that technique, it's my biggest pet hate.

The game is just beautiful, and I mean that from a pure footballing technique perspective. Zero assistance is a joy for me, so much more expressive freedom, with a lot more control. Drilling balls along the deck over 30 yards with L2 and power is a joy.

I'm loving the Right Stick and Left Stick combinations for the skills, they are very direction specific and I'm pulling off some lovely feints, as well as producing magic with R2. I even pulled off that Neymar half-flicked stepover off the intro video last night. Wished I'd have recorded it now.

Roll on tomorrow already !! :WOOT:

Community will be added in DLC.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Games shipped, presumably for a Thursday delivery. Have an important interview + presentation that I need to prep for this Friday.

DILEMMA

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

In League Mode you can play more seasons and then you can play National Cup, Champions or Europe League and Supercup. This is the difference, and sorry, but for me a very great difference!!!
The amazing of League Mode is, that you can play an entire season with the thrill of qualifying for CL or EL. You have not only the League matches but also the European Cup matches. And the very important thing, without this silly things of the ML.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

pes 2014 is konami's last chance. God knows if they fail thats it for me. I think we have all been carried away by how terrible the animations were we failed to see the AI was even worse.

Bootgate is in BAL.

Yair if you are gonna patch the game please change the setting for "Quick counter" It is by far the worst strategy in the game and makes the cpu 10 times more stupid than usual.

I have been playing ball for the past 6-8 hours and i think it is the truest repesentation of all the flaws in this game cos the player cannot compesnsate with tactics or contros (r3 spamming).

The Gameplay for the AI is 0 dimensional they just do the same thing regardless of personell tactic or situation absolutely 0 personality.
Ability only means good players o the same bad things with higher success rate.

The midfield representation is the worst since 2009. So many phantom thru passes ( Lack of interception and block animations). A seriously lack of urgency marking anticipation and too much bloody ball watching. The contain/press logic should be thrown out and they should just go full arcade and have them press all the time. it is better than this crap.

GK need to catch more an hold with mor power we have seen enough weak punches for a life time we never need to see it again even if it is unrealistic.

The Defence is terrible they dont particullarly protect the center of goal or mark players that enter their zone (Although the CPU will just not the human team in BAL or regular).

There is a terrible bug in BAL that once you get suspended for too many yellows if you ever get a yellow card in a match you get auto suspended for the next match until that season ends.

The AI is horrible. we need less cpu dribbling (running with the ball into a cul de sac then trying to turn with that terribly slow and unresponsive 90-180 degree turning animation) and more passes. More off the ball movements to adjust team spacing but not sprints. Les position switch triggering. SM and WG need new logic when the team is in Defence (actually all positions need their).
AI Never Passes Back
Bring back the Arrows.

I can see my self quiting this game in a week

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)
