Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

You CAN play a proper League Mode in Community, that's why I've never really understood what all the fuss was about. Sure they have taken the option off the front menu, but it's still more than available in Community Mode. It's as if people have never even used offline Community Mode in PES 2012. You can set up any League with up to 20 Teams, you can choose all the match settings, and all the teams. If you want all La Liga then pick all Spanish teams, if you want all English, same again.

If you wish to create your own Super League, either Eurpean or I guess even mixing in the Brasilian teams now, then you can do that. Or, if you wish, go National teams. You even have the option to pick your own fixtures and which order they are played. You can do this with either a solo campaign or up to 20 humans. It's all there. You can even name the league as well if you want, to keep it authentic. You have the Top Scorer and Assist charts on tap as well. It really isn't a big deal for those who do not wish to play 'Jimmy Grimble' in the Master League.

For those who are worried or concerned, create an offline Community in PES 2012 and have a look yourself.

What does concern and bemuse me, is the reason for omitting Community Mode from the initial release. That's very bizarre. It was a fantastic addition last year, and is a massive part of both Online and Offline PES single or multi-player gaming. It's crazy, I have no idea why that would be. It also means until it becomes available in DLC in October (WTF?), then offline single or multi-player leagues are out of the equation. Which is a fucker for my weekly PES Lads Night and the 2013 Premiere tomorrow night. :(

Calico, totally agree about the over-hit high cross-field balls, I'm loving how you have to weight them. Also try tapping square a direction and then R2 for scooped pass over the top over a short distance, I'm loving those in crowded areas. Shame that although the trajectory is from a scooped technique, the animation is more of a clip with no follow-through. I wish they would sort their shit out with that technique, it's my biggest pet hate.

The game is just beautiful, and I mean that from a pure footballing technique perspective. Zero assistance is a joy for me, so much more expressive freedom, with a lot more control. Drilling balls along the deck over 30 yards with L2 and power is a joy.

I'm loving the Right Stick and Left Stick combinations for the skills, they are very direction specific and I'm pulling off some lovely feints, as well as producing magic with R2. I even pulled off that Neymar half-flicked stepover off the intro video last night. Wished I'd have recorded it now.

Roll on tomorrow already !! :WOOT:

+1

Don't know how many times people need telling this. Give it a few more posts and someone else will repeat a spat about no league mode.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

It's still a very good game but...for me, they've buckled and gone with the "tried and tested" rather than stick with what would have been a new direction. Shooting is a bit too easy at the moment, I am all for spectacular goals but we scored four 30 yarders in one game last night....with that being said there will be a patch day one so I am not going to start moaning too much

Have you all tried playing on zero assistance before you conclude its too easy? No offence, just wondering. It changes the pace and feel of the game so that when you do get into shooting positions you may have to adjust a bit more, if you know what I mean.

In League Mode you can play more seasons and then you can play National Cup, Champions or Europe League and Supercup. This is the difference, and sorry, but for me a very great difference!!!
The amazing of League Mode is, that you can play an entire season with the thrill of qualifying for CL or EL. You have not only the League matches but also the European Cup matches. And the very important thing, without this silly things of the ML.

If you want CL and Euro then you may as well go ML with a lot of the options turned off. Hell, you even get relegation if you want.

If it means that much to you, and the action on the park is truly what's most important, then skipping a daft cutscene here and there really isn't an issue. Especially as they have been massively dumbed down according to Darth Kebab.

Honestly, I don't see this 'gamebreaking' issue when you have ML or Community. What matters the most is what happens on the field, surely ? Or am I missing something here ? :CONFUSE:

2 more sleeps. Or in my case rocking a baby to sleep as I struggle to maintain my frail sanity

Chas anyone been online? If you have please check if there are options to set match room settings in respect of assistance settings. I'm reaching here but humour me please.

Would Aguero's goal to win the PL last season mean as much if it was just any other game? CONTEXT MATTERS!

I've just dropped from 1-bar to zero and it plays very different. Feels a lot harder to string together a move and feels a lot more satisfying. Seems harder to get power into passes though.

I think you're missing the fact that there is no Community mode in the release version hence the complaints.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

The problem for people wanting to play a simple League mode is not having to endure only the silly cut scenes of ML. Let's not forget they will have to put up with... Boots ;)

Plus it's irritating how Konami insists in releasing a game with outdated rosters. And the update will come only in mid-October!! :(
Hopefully by then we will have really good Option Files for kits, emblems and club names.

In other words, the PES 2013 retail version won't be ready for me until Mid-October. Before, I used to cope with the lack of licenses by playing a standalone licensed league, before venturing in ML. But now they force us to play ML right from the start...

Needless to say I will get this game by mid-October only. And I will be buying the American version by the way.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Tomorrow morning i will have the PES 2013 PC FULL GAME..

I will download the demo and after that i will install the full game...

No..KONAMI aren't idiots...

0 bars is the way it's meant to be played
that is the real pes 2013 difference

I played the league mode with my 9 year old son. He can't be arsed by the ML and all the management features...
On top of that he could play a league alone. That is impossible now. You should also consider the fact that at the moment he only speaks Dutch. Imagine playing a ML in Dutch Jimmy (and imagine that you play the game for your second year)...I'm pretty sure that you would also be pissed off with the omission of the League Mode. League Mode = a very light ML = ideal for young kids.

I just played two matches with him and he loves it compared to PES2012. He was gutted that there is no league mode...

Do you honestly see any logic in Konami's decision? I don't.

Rant over.

First impressions: very, very good but a litle bit different from demo 2.

Jim, I hope you're right... I think I'd heard that only online community features would be added, and there would be no offline community mode at all. Sounds ridiculous, but it would at least fit with Konami's seeming determination to funnel everyone into this year's fairyland ML.

Anyway, lack of integrated CL, EL and domestic cup is still an issue, even if we can get a league going in that mode. I suppose it's possible to play CL outside the league and memorise any relevant long term injuries and so on (long term injuries... who am I kidding?) but this is 2012 ffs. What's with this more and more restricted gaming? Even if the end result isn't as bad as it could be, what's the logic in those restrictions? Is this particular issue just more "take out as much as you can" weirdness like the removal of snow and all that, or is this something slightly different? What does it say
about Konami's attitude towards the game and its future direction?

Basically, it would have been easier to leave League Mode in than to take it out. Even if you can play a league in Community mode, that's not obvious - people who've just bought the game wouldn't know that, and besides, why not just leave it as it was? There's no possible coding issue here, no issues with maxing out the PS3, no engine limitations. It was a conscious decision. There must have been some thought behind it, and I don't think I particularly like the thought behind it...

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I agree it shouldn't have been removed, but to say there isn't an option isnt really true. If you want to play a 38 game league season you can, in whichever league you wish to recreate. If you want CL and Euro then ML is a great option.

I'm also taking no notice of this boot issue until I play the game. I'm sure I won't even notice or remember.

You can occasionally use the L2 manual modifier if you want to blast balls across with more power, but I'm usually ok with zero.

I practice all my games offline on zero. Online I've recently started playing 1 bar for the first half, to soften up the opponent and balance out his likely assistance, then open up the 2nd half into zero.

I played over 800 games of mlo and loads of quickmatches/lobby friendlies on zero online, was competitive, and preferred it, but obviously it was unbalanced against most people. Unless there's all zero lobbies or both agree to play zero I'll stick with the above method.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Really close between PES and FIFA this year, a brilliant situation for me.

I love the slower speed of PES, the more thoughtful approach, the weight of the players and the inertia.

With FIFA, I love the first touch and it just feels more organic. Balls are pinging all over the place from deflections and it feels a lot less rigid than PES.

I imagine I'll be giving both games some good playing time over the next year :D

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I can't understand how anybody can defend Konamis decision to remove league mode. Really. It is a terrible decision and there is nothing positive or good about it. Even if you love the gameplay (it seems to be great) how in the world could you defend this decision? There is simple now excuse for removing this mode.

I am the only one who hates the game

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

OK, before I shut up about this subject, let me say clearly why something seems fishy.

1. Konami added a new feature to ML which they seemed to realise would be very unpopular with the hardcore fanbase, because rather than trumpeting it in pre-release publicity like any other innovation, they kept completely silent about it. They didn't even tell their number one cheerleader, who only knew about it when he got his preview code - in fact, they hauled him over the coals for going public a few weeks before release.

2. Unlike every other feature in ML since the beginning of time, Konami fixed it so this can't be switched off, so anyone who doesn't like magic boots etc can't get out of it that way.

3. They removed League Mode so that anyone who doesn't like magic boots etc can't get out of it that way.

4. There are suggestions that they've removed offline Community mode so that anyone who doesn't like magic boots etc can't get out of it that way. Even if they haven't, it means you have to go through a weirdly convoluted process to play a non-magical league.

5. Why, when Konami seemed to know that this feature would be hugely unpopular, did they take so many steps to ensure you couldn't switch it off - to the point of completely removing popular longstanding game modes, thus diminishing PES 2013 as an overall package?

6. Any possible answer to that question is very worrying and/or very depressing, don't you think?

We know. So why are you still reading and posting in the thread?

I hate cricket. Therefore I don't visit cricket threads or forums.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

What does this do? Make the ball lower in the air?

Higher in the air, with no follow-through, it gives you height and reduced speed. Perfect for picking a pass in a crowded area or a prerequisite to a first-time flicked/volleyed cushioned pass.
