Hope not, please - it will be defo less exciting if it has. What about passing, has it less floaty and more accurate?
 
How do you perform lofted pass now, the new one? First two games feel like PES 2012, the next three were something new... It is a mix between demo 1 and 2, In a Good way.

fifa 13 demo has definetely improved over 12, but i noticed you cant get powerful passes off (passes seem slow ingeneral) and the short passing is still not up to scratch at all. pes manual short passing is amazing.

Remember, if you cahnge your settings correctly in the menu, it will be full manual without keeping hold of L2 :D

Not at all, the shooting is spot on imo. I went into the training ground with Man U to test out the shooting, Rooneys shooting reminded me of demo 1 in that it was very powerful and accurate. Welbeck had less power and accuracy but could still hit hard shots in the right situations. Overall I felt the shooting still has the power of demo 1 but its more contextual which is what I thought of demo 2.

Hm, I just played demo2 and I can't see any big difference in shooting, I don't know why I started to imagine that there is a big difference.

Now it looks the same after a few games :CONFUSE:

I have PC retail version.

I agree that these techniques does make defending better, as does switching player switching to assisted, but for me that means something is wrong with the game. I shouldn't have to control my CB for my midfield and rest of my defence to then defend while I watch them do it. If I want to press with my DM I should be able to trust my back line to keep in shape, Cb's not split or one of them drop back for no reason apart from to allow the CPU to play a through ball. From when my back line can't stay in a line and all the small Barca players can run through my defenders when it suits them, but Lennon can't hold off Alba when already ahead of him, then something is wrong.

Im sorry but i think pes 13 is a minor upgrade to pes 13. Keepers are still tosh, they cannot save anything in the box. What a let down pes 13 is.

I think that is wrong, although you may correct me. Zero assist is not the same as full manual and you still have to hold a button down to get full manual. And to answer why PES full manual is not as good as FIFA...the requirement for you to tape a button down to achieve a decent manual game ends the debate for me without me going to any more detail

Playing last night and the keepers were quite poor. Shots close to the centre of the goal and the keepers were missing them when they really should be saving them.

Hopefully something fixed in a patch though.

What do you guys play on? Ps3/PC/360?

I played it on PS3, goalies seem more than decent in my experience thus far..

Yes, I got the steelbox of champions league, really cool.
Looking foward to coming home to play and test the game again and see if a camera tool is released to adjust the camera to my onw like.

PC here. Goalkeepers aren't terrible but they need to be a lot better. Still parrying a lot of shots as well as the easy goals just off the centre of the goal.

Keepers are not good either. Too scripted again. They havent improved them for the demo, they palm the ball out to an attacker for a tap, stinks of scripting.

The keepers have already killed this game again for me.

Old time user, i haven't written in some time, my 2 cent about pes 2013 (got it last nite in spain for some 42 euros).

+ It is a well done pes 2012 gameplay patch that took away all the worst things of pes 2012, mostly Ai cheats and AI going into God Mode.
+ More fluent, more effective keepers
+ slightly improved visual (less blurred)

=Shooting: pretty much like pes 2012, the issue is not shooting itself though, but it is due the animation linking the palyer to the ball. for most players the ball is almost an elastic and therefore they never get the distance to get momentum to hit the ball. the few players with different animations sending the ball further from the feet can hit screamers, loose balls also always produce screamers.
= same tight refs and boring highlights and replays (option to skip them would be most welcomed)

- Attention to details is, as usual, garbage. Usual calendar with 5 home games in a row. How many John Murphy to fix that?
- Lighting at nite game is shocking
- Animation for keepers, crossing and header are really limited in number and result in the feeling of some heavy scripting. If two players go for diving headers and they both miss the ball it feels like sincronized dancing.
- Game mode missing is huge for those like me who didn't like the ML boring cutscene and much prefer CL or Single Championship
- Same crap cameras, with 3-4 decent camera the experience would be immensivelhy more enjoyble

On line to be seen tomorrow.


I'd say 1v1 off line and on line are were the game shines. AI is pretty boring as it plays almost the same regardless of teams, i played against barcelona and AI kept crossing the ball in for the like of messi and villa...

overall it should be a good purchase for the on line and multiplayers gamer.

Ah..

Something tells me that the PC version just plays differently than PS3, or at least some aspects feel different such as overall gameplay speed.

I've seen very consistent keeping on PS3 and i played (as) some pretty shitty teams.
I will test PC version soon and check it out if it's different for me compared to my PS3 games.

Thanks for that Issidingo - a good, balanced write-up.

You make an excellent point on the shooting and the distance between foot and ball, as you rightly say, screamers can be hit from loose balls.

Excellent point?
You can also just burst or sprint shoot if you got space. It's just like real life. You can't dribble with the ball close (like elastic?) and then go for the screamer that's not how it works. He basically gave the clue in his argument.

First time back to the series since PES2008. Good feeling. Anyway, how do you sort the kits etc. out on the PS3? Cheers.

In old pes games up to 2012 shooting and animation linking ball to the feet was indeed very different. I much prefer the old system than the new one.

CL is of course still there although the usual teams are missing.

anyway time to go back to work, enjoy the games, this year we have 2 excellent titles tbh.

facebook account linked to myPES gives extra prize money in MLO, same as 012?
no news so i doubt anyone can help me here
AND
how is the form system in the MLO
from what i read on 12 it was horrible

drives me nuts that ... promoting the champions league and the first thing i do when getting a new pes version is complete the champions league but why do they not have the correct teams and data in the champions league surely the is a way round the tight control of licencing fifa has on all aspect of teams and names

champions league great

but you gotta have the information correct little touches always make a great game common konami time to dig deep into that budget and unlock some of these contracts fifa have set up and get these teams and data finally right for us pes fans to enjoy

started an ML, after awhile all of the players with the same colored boots wont bother me, but annyoing... the CPU AI is so much better then 12...

Do we keep going in circles here? People here keep giving advice and saying that you need to get the ball out from under your foot to generate real power in the shot. You can do this:

1) By running onto a loose ball

2) If you're playing in a teammate, even at close distance, use through ball for a short pass into space instead of normal pass which goes directly to feet.

3) When you're running with a player, give the sprint button a longer squeeze or a double tap and press shoot (hold it longer for the weaker shooters). On PES 2011, a double tap of sprint gave you a nice little push with the ball out in front. In PES 2012 it was very inconsistent so didn't work that well.

On PES 2013 it feels somewhere in between. Not always obvious that you have the ball out in front of your feet, but provided the space is clear in front of you, try what I said and you'll generate more power. Because of the way the ball sticks to your feet when dribbling, that double tap or longer squeeze really helps.
