PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Shopto have despatched my order - excellent news!

To my home address, where I WON'T be tomorrow, despite me asking for it to be delivered to work - not so excellent news!

This means that I go from having it a day earlier to having a "sorry we missed you card" and a trip to the Sorting Office on Friday :-(

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

shooting let game down in 12. If shooting ANYTHING like 12 I wont bother taking game out of the box.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

yes but, club teams and type of tournament were not an option in PES 2010.11.12 bro. all you had was a 16 team International knockout.

So can you now do a league tournament with club teams?

*clutches at straws for one final time*

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

It's still a very good game but...for me, they've buckled and gone with the "tried and tested" rather than stick with what would have been a new direction. Shooting is a bit too easy at the moment, I am all for spectacular goals but we scored four 30 yarders in one game last night....with that being said there will be a patch day one so I am not going to start moaning too much

try to increase difficulty level ;)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Yeah, even worse than that, it's gone to my old address despite me changing the billing address before ordering the game last week.

This is made even worse by the fact I fell out with the landlord after I left so this could get awkward !

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Just installed the PC version, started a CL match Real v Man City, feels alot like demo 2 maybe a bit slower, one thing that jumped out instantly though was Madrid(CPU) were passing the ball around :APPLAUD:.

Just finished the first half, 15 min matches. Individuality is awesome, Yaya Toure IS Yaya Toure, get him on the ball from deep and charge, unstoppable, although the final ball was lacking. Got Barry on the ball and tried to run up the pitch, touch was too heavy, Barry was too slow and the ball got taken before I could get to it. Ronaldo was tormenting Kompany on the wing, loads of step overs and multi paced dribbling, cuts inside, runs into box and shoots. Benzemas movement was very good, seen a couple of diagonal runs and he gave the 2 CBs lots of problems.
The game started off and there didnt feel like much pressure, after about 30 mins the pressing was very noticable, had what felt like a very long period passing around in mid field and back to defense trying to find a way up the pitch. At the start Madrid were patient in possession, not Barca type passing but much improved over the demo. From what I have seen so far the CPU play is far better than last year.

ML fans may or may not be pleased to hear that its an all new line up this year, the names are similar though, for example Minandinho.
Also each player comes with a scouting report telling you the chance of signing in %, estimated cost and a few words about the deal.

Shopto don't take signatures, it's delivered through letterbox, much like Amazon.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Can someone please confirm whether the shooting is floaty and cack on the PS3 version?

You'd be saving a fellow fan £40!
Cheers

The bloke at shopto said he'd "try and catch the warehouse before it left" but I got the impression there's more chance of him "having a word with Konami and getting League Mode put back in time for delivery".

I will leave a note at the address tonight, asking them to contact me if they receive the delivery.

My biggest concern now is (1) will they even bother to tell me it arrived (2) if they do, when will they (if could be as late as Friday night or Saturday) and (3) Do I buy another copy on Friday morning (or even from shopto) to guarantee that I'll play it on Friday, when I have booked the afternoon off just to play it?

I'm an idiot.

EDIT - Shopto managed to catch my order before it left so we can all just relax now :-)

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Well that is why he did not mention the CPU attacking AI which could use a lot of work in PES, defensively the CPU is very sound, everything he said about team shape is true as well. FIFA may have improved this year but the defensive AI still looks awful to me, teams don't defend as a unit they defend individually. Positionally and tactically PES represents the game better that is an objective fact.

The flaws in PES are mostly cosmetic now, there is the basis of a truly phenomenal game but it is let down by antiquated technology, I can't wait to see what they do with Fox Engine.

Currently I'm not sure which game to play because they both offer completely different experiences, but neither completely satisfy me. Last year I didn't play a football game and the year before that I only dabbled with FIFA 11 against friends, so it saddens me that we still have this situation.

This is true, defensively the CPU is really good, their shape, pressing etc is all really well implemented. I did think that maybe it plays a more attacking game in exhibition mode and will keep more possession in other game modes, but I fear this is just wishful thinking to be honest.

Unfortunately this isn't replicated in my team, who seem to want to capitulate at all times, I always notice it particularly in the FB's. If the same defensive system was installed for both the human player and the CPU, and the CPU had something resembling midfield play, the game would be exceptional rather then very good.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Yesterday I was playing full game night long (some hours) and first impression was.... "may be I got wrong with this game...."
I went on playing and the more I played the more I liked it. Don´t know why but the game kept me playing for a looooong time.
What I don´t like is the camera (none of them) so waiting for a camera settings for PC.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Defensive AI of the CPU in PES 2013 demo 2 is much better than in Fifa 12, the structure, the pressuring... it's much more realistic and contextual.

The problem is that the CPU-attacking is not that well structured and that's where Fifa 12 is better, playing possession-football, being patient, creating good opportunities... that's where the CPU lacks in demo 2 of PES 2013.

The other problem is cheating: The CPU may have a good defensive structure but your own team's defensive AI gets toned down considerably in situations when the CPU wants to score, then you find your defensive line chaotic with cb's leaving their positions... and your player's stats get toned down so that they are slower or not as strong as before... or the ball or even the CPU-players clips through my defensive players... or the goalkeeper parries balls to the feet of the opponent strikers...

Just getting into ML now. The training is very different to last year. Each coach has focus points and when you into training there is a list of 7 attributes which can each have up to 10 points allocated, they are: Shoot, Pass, Dribbling, Defence, Speed, Power & Stamina. I started with the ML originals so I have little money, my coach is Dzepinski and he only has 11 focus points to dish out :(.

I dont know what has been revealed about ML so I will detail everything I learn.

There is an items menu next to my team, in it are 3 options: shop, item list and equipment. In the shop you can buy the following:

Personal Training +1 (increase ability by 1)
Personal Training +3
Personal Training +5
Personal Training All +1 (increase all ablity by 1)
Personal Training All +3
Stopwatch (makes speed training more effective
Free Weights (power more effective)
Mini Goal (shooting)
Keepy Uppy Ball (passing)
Training Poles (dribbling)
Balance Disc (defence)
Cycling Machine (stamina)
Personal Trainer (all training more effective)
Extra Positions (equip to earn exp. for position(lasts 1 year))
Skill Boost (equip to earn exp. for player index(lasts 1 year))
Recovery Trainer (Improves resistance to fatigue)
Physiotherapist (improves resistane to injury)
Condition Trainer (increase form by 1)

I really think this is a horrible addition to ML, I doubt I will venture into this menu again.

The original ML players are awful, which is fantastic imo as it really makes you value and use the players strengths.
The team mate AI is excellent, I think this has really been upped since the demos. If you like slow build up you will love this game, possession football has never been this much fun! Also finding that I am spending much more time in midfield than last year.

After finishing my first ML match I got a screen saying "you have earned a new nickname" I am El Tigre .

The default GK is an absolute joke, may aswel not have anyone in goal. It reminds me of last year before all the patches where the ML original keeper would let balls slowly roll past him and then dive when its already past the line, letting in some really silly goals at the moment :(.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

So its like Demo 2 then?

Thats a real shame. Demo 2 was the pits. I couldnt even run past a man with ronaldo, he simply had no sprinting pace.

Demo 1 was more CONTROLLED i felt. It felt like it was a proper game of football, the second demo was just an end to end farce, much of like what is thrown in Fifas general direction.

Anyway, i might pick this up next year when its a tenner and im bored.

Demo 1 felt a bit more free/loose because intercepting and physicality/awareness was not correctly implemented/balanced. Passing was anything but done and inconsistent.. ball feels like a brick on 0 passing. Full version is a mix of demo 1/2 but overall more balanced like demo 2.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

BAL AI is worse this year than its ever been. There is still no midfield in PES (BAL and full team mode). Player positioning and reactions are awefull. The game is bearable in every other mode but ball. My god konami must not quality test their games. This is really bad. I need to buy boots for all my team mates to wear on their brains. This crap has to go. By morning.

:BYE: then

I think what you described before (all different kinds of cups and leagues, clubs or national teams all freely distributable) was in the Community mode in PES 12. Community mode was pretty awesome, you could basically build any league or cup you felt like.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

For me, the final code is more like PES 12 than the previous two demos. It's still a great game but cant help feeling a little disappointed since I loved demo 1 so much. PS3 user btw

Exactly PES 12 with the added bonus of no leagues! Don't worry the gameplay complaints will flood in soon enough.

Getafe (blue): Look how compact and close those lines of players are, all on their own half, and just 2 Barcelona players in between the defence and midfield.

I can see similar if not exact scenario's like this in PES2013!! This was something they really fucked up on in PES12, the lines between DF-MF were all out of whack. This type of organization and structure was non existent in older PES games (or even the other game(s)). No teamwork no organization just some random folk standing on the pitch like dummies, but now thanks to better AI it's so lifelike in how you can organize and work together to hinder the opposing party.. i'm truly amazed at this!

Just an example of how truly modernised this game has become. I'm sure i'm not the only one seeing these things..

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Does anyone else think that shooting are even more tone down(weaker) than in demo2?

Does anybody know whether the long range passing has been fixed from demo 2? In demo 2 long range passing is very floaty and inaccurate.
Demo 1 was perfect, I could ping balls around very nicely indeed.
