I'm going to make Charlie Manson on edit mode and sign him as a striker on Master League, playing just off the front 2.
Then I'm gonna save up via the means of 0-0 draws until I cam afford to buy him some red lobster boots with +10 for shooting accuracy. Little Charlie is going to be tucking them away on a daily basis - but his beards going to be cack unless Konami make proper beards.

Actually, I've decided I'm going to cancel my PES order and get FIFA instead. If Conami aren't going to include beards then where's the realism? And they're so secretive about it it makes me sick. This year, I'm voting with my wallet - totally unacceptable.

When I was a lad I played a kickoff ripoff on a bbc micro.


If they change the gameplay from demo 2 though I will absolutely hate it. But the shots could be a bit harder. But I'd bank it in it's current state rather than let Konami try and fix something - because they'd cock it up.
Let's hope not.

I really hope someone is able to mod the default ML players names into something more realistic.

From the youtube preview of ML that I've seen their names are just a juxtapose of letters seemingly put together by a dyslexic Japanese mongoloid.

I don't think I can care about a player if his name is something stupid like Rughlijkgh, whereas a name like Castolo I can picture him being a Brazilian journeyman striker with a little bit of magic still left in his feet, which adds to my immersion.

Demo 2 with an ever so slight tweak to shooting would be good for me.

I've been played pes since pes4 and this is the first year I may not buy it, Played both demos and enjoyed both but Pes has no lastability in my opinion. The lack of game modes is just killing it. Fifa has these in abundance which makes it worthwhile purchase. I can honestly see if I buy PES this year I'll be again forced back to pes6 after 6-9 months again.

You don't know that any boots, pink or otherwise, or indeed any combination of equipped items whatsoever, are capable of giving the likes of Andy Carroll a +10 speed increase, or any comparable stats-boost of that nature.

Examples like that one are just speculative exaggerations based on the very little that we know for sure.

A +3 is the highest I've seen mooted, based on a formula I saw somewhere (might've been a dream, or a stranger on a bus, who knows).

This past year I have watched PES2012's version of Andy Carroll (CPU-controlled) dance through most of my team as if they were not there. Where's the realism there? Nowhere. ML is not, never has been, and never will be realistic.

I'm more worried about how special items (such as injury recovery boosts) will work and affect the game overall, than I am about boots.

Let's wait and see, and love or hate it for what it is rather than what we think it's going to be. So far only one person we know of (Adam of WENB) has stopped playing ML because of this new system. Other early players of ML 2013 report the boots making no difference at all to their enjoyment.

I think the nature of Master League will be exactly the same as it ever was, and player individuality won't be compromised. I base this on the same evidence that you base your suppositions on. I'm not usually a glass-half-full kind of person, but it seems in this instance, I am.

Been away from this thread for a while so apologies but - LEAGUE MODE GONE?! Did I just read that right?! So we can no longer just play a La Liga campaign?!

Yep, no leagues whatsoever, custom or otherwise.

Konami get all 20 La Liga stadia then take out league mode. :APPLAUD:

they had to, imagine this game:

- added brazil league
- added a good ML (no magic boots)
- full la lige
- awesome gameplay

then they thought at konami who the F would buy that fox engineered shit if we had already made a perfect game? no one!

so lets:

- F up the ML
- F up the game modes


Cool now we will have income! ;D

I left the Mrs to her cooking programme and went up to my games room and played 3 games on fifa the 3 games on pes.. Then 4, 5 games on pes.

Pes 2013 is soo much more enjoyable to play imo, I still suck and lose more games on pes than I do fifa but it's just more enjoyable and you can t up some great shot by trading with r3 outside the area then knuckle shooting... Can I do that on fifa? No i cannot, ever time i've tried to score like that it doesn't let me.

I don't know if I should cancel it, or just try and live with these game modes (or lack of it seems), Konami have been very tight liped about a lot of this stuff were just finding out and I hope for their sake that leagues or an accivelant will be added on launch or that's a massive slap in the face for fans that have been loyal and stuck with them through some very dodgy games(not me included as I like many many other played pes 2,3,4,5,6 then bought pes 2008 and sold it days later and bought fifa 08 and have played fifa ever since until now)

What is the commentary like in pes 2013 and if I did buy it what is the best option file with kits and stuff?

It doesn't make sense at all, not even by Konami standards. I don't follow the WENB forums that closely but I noticed Adam posted this on Saturday:

Yeh that's why I'm waiting to speak to the guys at Konami about it.

It doesn't look like league mode is in, but I'm aware Konami are trying to combat piracy on consoles in a variety of ways. I do know in South America people are still finding ways to pirate the PS3 version.

This could be a way of them locking content out, and allowing legitimate users the opportunity to download content.

At least, that's what I'm hoping for.

Well they can fix it by adding league mode and then i will buy the game. I only do league mode with a friend.

Wonder why some of you play offline ? This isn't 1980's lol. Playing CPU gets extremely boring for me. I need some real human challenge.

Playing against Barcelona and Real Madrid in 99% of online games gets extremely boring for me.

For me is the same, I play offline the first week, than when everybody got the game only online!!!

Play vs Cpu is boring!!! Offline is good When some friends come over.

The Best way for me is playing ML online, but not inside the game (only cheater or Barça vs Real) I play on sites that manage all the leagues and Cups!! And the best thing is that just one person have Messi or CR7.

Also 2v2 online play in those leagues/cups? Also i assume on PC right?

I'm sure , we PC users will have league mode soon or far ! We have guys like yiar , jenkey1002 , moddingway , juce, reddwarf so :) they will come up with something;) Basically PES 2013 is not that far from PES 2012 .

I was in an online league for a short stint back on PES 2011. All mid level teams. Was good fun although it's funny how some people can say all the right things in a forum and then you play them, and they're slide tackling you left, right and centre and just playing rush rush football. :P
 
I think PC uses can mod the game but they can't add things like leagues modes.

Really annoying. Played another 3 games of each demo last night and pes is just about the better game but there's no modes for me to play.

I don't play online as playing against Barca every time gets boring, ML seems to be a mess a now there is no league modes.

It leaves me cups and champions league mode. I love the CL when implemented into ML but as a stand alone mode it don't feel right.

Really gutting. I need to know if konami will add leagues via patch before deciding whether to cancel my pre-order.

Does anyone else get some artifacts problems on the demo? I'm getting these small squares that appear on the pitch, sometimes they are red, other times black, I also get some weird lines on the pitch near the goal, and when one of the camera men moves around, really really odd, I'm going to take a screenie of it later.....very worried :( not had my graphics card for long.... :/

I really think it could be massively important to implement tactics properly this year from what I have gathered in the demo. Which is brilliant stuff if it's the case.

For example, IRL Barce and Real will just tear you a new hole if you try and match them attack for attack or to press them high up the pitch. They are simply too good at finding space and eventually through passing and quality of player they will just glide through the midfield. This is how it should be IMO. Against the top teams, even as a decent team yourself, I think it paramount that you need to adjust your tactics. And this is where this season could be the first season since the old PES games that I need to really do some homework and look deeply into combatting the CPU through tactics.

For example, yesterday I got beaten 3-1 v Barce as Athletic. I then played a game and dropped my defensive line deeper, had two DMF's, and positioned players narrower. This seemed to combat their silky players. They had much more possession, ultimately more territory and still looked the better side but I was able to stem their fluid attacks better, the game ended 50% each in possession and 0-0.

Also the pressure slider I believe is very key to containing the CPU. I am of the opinion that anything high in this years game on Superstar mode against the top teams is suicide, unless you play a Barce type game with everyone pressing (front front to back) high up the pitch. The pressure slider drags midfielders out of position and towards players, and if they are gifted ones they will simply pass through the midfield.

I really believe also that this years PES relies a lot more on the player (ie the human) having the 'overall picture' in their minds eye as moves are taking shape. It is crucial on Superstar to be able to pick up runs and dummy runs, and to shift players across to and fro. The use of player switching (to the CPU sometimes) to contain danger is also a biggy I think. In my experience, you need your team to play as a unit much more realistically this year, this forces the CPU into possession football and exploring different avenues than just the plough down the middle philosophy.

I'm afraid though it's very much like last year and for me, there's no way I can play 4/5 games on the bounce with the timer back to 15 minutes, it relies too heavily on utmost concentration. I believe I will be best suited to play 1/2 games at a time. My results went from very good at the start of last nights session to bloody awful when I got tired. I think it's a punisher again this year lads!
