PES 2013 Discussion Thread

But you don't really know anything about this ML – nobody does. Do you know how it plays after one season? Five seasons? How many boots unlock, what they do, how many players in your squad will have them, what actual effect they have on gameplay over the course of a gruelling campaign? "No, but I can imagine based on what I've heard that it won't be for me" is ALL that this (forgive me) silly 'pre-prejudice' against PES2013's ML is based on. Scant information and hysteria.

Whose fault is that though? The blame for scant information lies firmly at Konami's door.

It took Adam to break embargo and reveal the news about the revamped master league. It took a few people from the community with early release copies to break the news about the lack of leagues fiasco. Konami were surely uneasy about the community's reaction to these changes and just kept quiet, leaving fans to discover for themselves after they've paid for the game.

Regarding 'bootgate', I don't think you need to play the mode to know that it's not one for fans of realism and/or football purists. I think that is patently clear for all to see.

I think you do need to play the mode to see how it works in practice – not in abstract.

I don't remember Konami ever pre-publicising Master League in other years. Last year it took early players of the game to detail all the cutscenes and lack of training etc. Konami's non-existent level of pre-publicity this year is the same as all the others, and thus no inference can be drawn one way or the other.

So I'm not worried about Master League at all. I've played and enjoyed some editions of this mode that were truly shocking in terms of features (or lack of), bizarre design choices, gameplay mechanics etc. I'd bet that in a month from now Bootgate won't be a 'thing' at all.

The Leagues fiasco is by far the most serious potential disaster for PES2013 IMO. What I've always loved about this mode is its traditional footy-game nature, and its great difficulty – pick a minor team and win the league just with those players and no others.

And now it's just gone? Now this is truly a head-scratcher and I'm fascinated to see how it turns out.

Imagine if nothing was said by Adam and by the people with the early releases. The shock the mass would get when they play the game for the first time

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Hm so we have last year Football Life, with nagging and moaning players, but with added boots and unlockable items (Personal Training +3 boost to stats, Dribbling Poles, Small Goals, etc.) with secretary who will remind you to use them after each game?

Great. With still no possibility to do transfers with money and player swapping, with no option to change club at all. ROFL.

Compared to this FIFA Career Mode looks like masterclass act from Shakespear book. Way to go (C)KON-AMI...

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Cancel it, the less playes buy it the more they will realize they have to improve these things, the reason why pes hasn't really improved that much in the past years is because alot of people are happy with these mediocre games.

Mediocre?! LOL yeah right. Mediocre usernames is more like it

100% agree, the other issue I have with KONAMI this year is the fact they had the cheek to delete questions on their Facebook page when people wanted answers to the issues dominating the last 20 pages of this thread. Poor form indeed!

Today I cancelled my PES13 pre-order, I've still got an interest in the game and might look at it after people have road tested ML (the only mode I play). FIFA13 career mode is looking extremely deep and rewarding - this in itself means I'm a lot more comfortable canceling my PES pre-order for the first time in many years.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

It's been a terror week for me, horrible blizzard on Monday which left many of my sheep stuck in snow, the same can be said for most of Northern-Iceland. Have been pulling up sheep, alive and dead from snow, most certainly the worst experience I have had as a farmer and one of the worst in life as well.

Even though this makes something like a video-game awfully trivial in comparison, I still managed to be a bit shocked when I read just now about the possible lack of a league mode in PES 2013. This seems to crazy to be true, but if by some weird chance it is, I won't buy the game. For the first time since Iss on the Playstation. I wasn't bothered about ML-boots because I could still play normal leagues with CL/EL included... well...

Anyway time will tell. I'm going to go out and search some more.

I'm holding off as long as possible to cancel my pre-order. Still hoping positive news comes to light about league mode.

If not I'll probably pick up a second hand copy at some point so Konami don't get any proceeds from me.

Hi my friend. I sincerely hope you can find your sheep, i really feel for you. If i could i would come and help you find your sheep...but i live far from Iceland.

Good luck....

And after all this, what is there more to say about PES2013?

Best of luck. It's a hard life being a farmer. At least no major volcanic eruptions for you this year around.

Extremely disappointed by this league mode farce. I'm normally one throwing up my hands and shaking my head at some of the hysteria seen in PES forums.

But I have to say this news on the league modes has seriously made me consider cancelling my pre-order.

What is PES without a league mode ? It makes absolutely no sense now that La Liga and the Brasileirao are fully licensed. I have always greatly enjoyed playing the league mode and trying to take a small or favourite side like Auxerre,Bilbao etc etc to the title.

Unless of course Konami are including the league mode as DLC. If they are then they should make that explicitly clear.

The Pravda like attitude they have shown does them no favours at all. It irks me to think that they would have quite happily released the game on an unsuspecting consumer base without giving them the full facts.

It smacks of disrespect to what have been despite the poor iterations of the game from 2008-2010 a very loyal and staunch fanbase.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

The thing is, demo 2 really is superb.
The best player switching this gen by miles, and the new controls are nice, especially the R2 trap. Passing is also truly satisfying. Hopefully shooting is made a little more powerful in the full game though.

Realism can suck my balls - magic boots, 10 minute matches, bring it on!

For all the talk about FIFA's career mode - it's all pretty irrelevant when the gameplay is cack and every game is the same!

This is obviously my opinion

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Af, damn shame its blockbusters only. Any news on the copa libertadores one or any others (Apart from Manchester United one)?

I think Libertadores is the American steelbook version though.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

How the gameplay in pes2013 is not the same against cpu teams. Tried to play against every team in jenkeys patch and all teams use very same attacking scripts very obviously. I play vs barca or Celtic, cpu only counter attacks. Not saying fifa much better, but thats not the strenght of pes either.

You are trolling right? About the boots, right?

Just took off the LOD settings and couldn't believe it, PES on stock graphics looks pretty abysmal! LOD mixer makes such a difference!

Agreed, it's shocking.

Do you adjust the LOD settings yourself or just leave them on the defaults as supplied by the patch? They look great on defaults, just wondered if the game can look even better?

I whacked them all to 0.01 and it looked fantastic. Unfortunately the game ran poorly at times with the screen stuttering occasionally, odd seeing as I imagine a GTX 580 could still handle that.

I'll have to find a middle ground.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Bah ... 'Only Me' transfers option is in PES 2012 too. Tried to simulate a season in 2012 ML using 'Only me'/'No player growth'/'Scout does not handle transfers' combo.

Pros (a.k.a. similarities with league mode or even improvements):
- no youth team (due to No player growth)
- no training (due to No player growth)
- proper fatigue management (thanks to ML itself, miles ahead of totally bugged league mode fatigue accumulation and management)
- no transfers for CPU teams

Cons:
- nagging cut scenes (No. 10, I wanna play, Wow I played, I'm exhausted, I've been played out of position, chairman's missions, ...)
- impossible to select 2 or more teams to play the season

Undecided:
- finance & personnel micromanagement (can be turned off in ML settings)
- contract renewals (could be interesting for those who want to play for more than one season)
- you can buy players, but it's a double-edged sword regarding finances - financial income is somewhat lower than usual, because you can't sell anyone to CPU teams, but you still have to pay for players' salaries, staff, etc.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Take it as you like but confirmed here - no league mode, no option to turn off magic boots in ML:

http://pesgaming.com/showthread.php?t=91006

"Shame what they did with master league - all the players feet look like black coals. Should have least had an option to turn that sh*t off...unfortunately they're also on existing teams like manchester united and even the opponents have black coal boots. It looks retarded. There is a shop where you purchase these stupid f*ckng boots along with physiotherapists and such.
Hopefully konami do bring out a DLC to remedy that sh*t feature. The fans are going to nuts next week when they found out what they did to master league and hopefully konami will listen to the negative feedback they will no doubt be getting."

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Konami is incredible... every year is the same, improve a lot of things in the game, but f*** others!!

For me league missing is not a problem, I only play league online with mates on PES sites. But is stupid to take it off anyway!!

Nice selective quotation -- the poster you quote makes it clear that he's mainly offended by the appearance of the black boots (which does sound awful tbh) -- and then, yesterday, he says this:

"The boots do not ruin ML just like not having the single league mode doesn't ruin the whole game. I was playing a few games against the computer in ML and hardly noticed the black boots as was just focusing on the game play." (my emphasis)

Reading the entirety of that thread is very reassuring to me that Bootgate will not affect the overall playability of Master League, and that's the important thing. Silly idea, yes I agree. A skill cards system would have done me nicely. But is it a game-wrecker? Not even close.

So far the only pre-player of PES2013 who has kicked off about boots has been Adam on WENB.

I'm not sure what causes the stuttering. I set mine all to 0.01 and it worked fine and then one day after one of the updates it started stuttering. I'm using a GTX670 and when I look at the stats on my second monitor I can see that the gpu is only being used around 50%. I've noticed that during the stuttering the fps stays at 60 too...
