PES 2013 Discussion Thread

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

The thing is, demo 2 really is superb.
The best player switching this gen by miles, and the new controls are nice, especially the R2 trap. Passing is also truly satisfying. Hopefully shooting is made a little more powerful in the full game though.

Realism can suck my balls - magic boots, 10 minute matches, bring it on!

For all the talk about FIFA's career mode - it's all pretty irrelevant when the gameplay is cack and every game is the same!

This is obviously my opinion

Exactly my thoughts too. The game modes doesn't make me buy a game. Is the gameplay! and that's why i love PES. Even, if FIFA has CL and Libertadores i will keep choosing PES.

And most important, no one here has played the full game yet!

I selected the quotes that were important to me and a lot of other players who feel that ML will indeed be broken by bootgate.
There are some here that expect and demand as much realism as possible in the game and for Konami to take a step backward and force us to play a simulation with every player wearing black boots is unacceptable.
The fact that they offer those who want to play a season absolutely no option in that league mode has been removed and that boots cannot be turned off within ML is simply inexcusable and smacks of a company that is herding its consumers like sheep to their corporate tie-in.
I'm expressing my disgust by not adding to their profits. Shame on you Konami.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I'm not worried about ML magic boots or league mode. I'm more worried about the drastic changes they might make to the gameplay. It could happen like last year, the demo was nice, the full game was crap.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

konami will use boots in dlc pack pretty obvious

Oh yes, I'd say that's the safest bet of the year coming up.

Paid or free, though? Or a mixture?

I'll never pay a penny for any extra boots, but enough people probably would to make it worth Konami's while.

Re. the wider question of wanting realism in Master League, that seems to be a very recent obsession (of the past few weeks). Master League is fantasy football and always has been.

I suspect that the main horror of next week will be seeing players running around with 'lumps of coal' on their feet, as our correspondent on PES Gaming puts it. I think I'll be as appalled as anyone!

After that point, I don't expect that the longer-term, qualitative experience of Master League will be any different from the past 10 years.

Of course I don't know that, but neither does anybody else who hasn't played it.

Thats where we differ then. I couldn't care less about universal black boots, in fact I probably wouldn't have even noticed it if this wasn't all brought to light.

The other element, the substantial altering of a player's ability depending on what brand of boots they are wearing, is something I cannot abide. Fair enough ML always required some suspension of disbelief, but having aesthetics carry tactical and game-changing impact is ludicrous.

How can they allow one of the core selling points of the game, the individuality of each player, be compromised by something so frivilous?

There is an easy method to decide that: If he's saying something bad about PES, it's most likely very true. If he's praising PES, it could go either way, but a little more the way of not being true.

The boot colour don't matter. It's the fact that the boots you unlock boost players stats which is so unrealistic.

Just seen 7 mins of ML on YouTube and its the same as last year. Annoying cut scenes!!

Would you approve of the system if it was more abstracted, i.e. a menu-based skill card system similar to PES2010's? E.g. according to the 1-5 level of the Trainer you brought in, you had access to higher and higher level skill cards that provided +5 shooting power (or whatever) that you could assign to players (only a few players) on a fluctuating basis (the effect could go up and down based on form/morale arrows)?

Because that's essentially all this is, delivered via an in-game economy of boots and other things.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

It does now as per Adam. You don't need pass but somehow it knows if game is 2nd hand.
Pretty sure he said that.

it doesnt know if a game is second hand lol you just need 1 online pass per accunt to go online, so if you buy second hand youre gonna need to buy a pass seeing as the owner (most likely) used the code or sold it on ebay

also pes 2013 does have an on line pass, its confirmed.

That's right.
Konamy did it in the past.
Fingers crossed...

But if you turn off Players growht, there should be no growth/boost of players stats and these stupid boots will be disableb..
Or not?

I don't see direct connection between players growth and boots bonuses. Two different things - boots give bonuses as long as your player wears them

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Therefore the effect of these boots can not be disabled in any way?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Maybe by editing all boot stats to zero ...

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

It's the other way around with me - I'm more comfortable with the stat-boosting (although it's still a poor concept), but as a fan of authenticity it would pain me to see every player wearing black boots, and as the game progresses, completely the wrong boots.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

Really?! We back om the boots?

yeah. please stop with this talk and use the right thread for it. can someone please create some kind of.. pes thread, where we can discuss the game? a PES discussion thread perhaps ?

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I pre ordered pes 2013 weeks ago, and was looking forward to getting it. But I've been thinking I might cancel it and get fifa again. It's annoying because I was so excited to get it as the demo's were so good.
But game modes.. What can I do in Pes 2013? Master league sounds lame with all this boots silliness, online I'm not sure about, league mode gone.... What can I play?
Fifa has loads of interesting game modes, but the gameplay isn't as good as pes this year finally imo,

I need to decide by tomorrow if I should stick with it,... Why havn't Konami released any info? I'm also not comfortable buying this over fifa after Konami deleted customers questions off Facebook regarding league modes
They havn't listend to what fans want, but the game play is soo good.

Same boat mate. The gameplay is great but apart from Champions League mode I've got very little scope to use it.

A little info from Konami would be nice.

Re: PES 2013 Discussion Thread (Warez talk of any kind will be punished with a ban!)

I intend to load up a Copa Libertores, check out the extent of the boot implementation in the ML and seeing whether to perserve with it, then just play primarily online.

PES 2010, from what I recall, you'd pay for the development of a trait/player card. Then after 9-10 weeks of training the player will have learnt it. That was fair enough, as it was a trade off to developing other areas, and wasn't instanteous. Neither did it allow unrealistic 'sculpting' of players, you couldn't for instance apply a +10 speed increase to a slow, lumbering centre back. Transforming him into a completely different player.

Imagine for instance, you have Andy Carroll. After say 10 games, you're gifted pink boots that when applied will magically give the player +10 in speed. Is that not immersion breaking? From using him as a targetman, you now play him off the shoulder of a defender, he can now burst away from a defensive line.

Player development in PES 2011 was passable, PES 2010 adequate, PES 4 was ideal. Why can't they just allow players to growth respective to the XP they gain from playing matches, and their own unique growth curve.

It's certainly true that Komami's treatment towards their customers has been shabby of late.
Whilst I enjoy kicking back and having the odd league I mainly play online, but wouldn't want it to disappear entirely.
I'm not too sure how I feel about the boot issue at the moment. Again, I'm not a big ML player, although this has got me intrigued to see how it plays out.
My main problem with that is the blatant corporate advertising that simply can't be ignored, in game.
Even though this bothers me a bit, it's probably the way forward for the industry and if it makes more money for developers to give us bigger and better game then good.
In terms of gameplay, I'm sure we all agree that this is the best this gen has had to offer. If they ruin that as well, with a wall of silence we really are knackered.
Anyway, ordered it from the old Blockbuster and really looking forward to it.

Thanks for that Zee. I love a bit of nerd rage. :))

Looks a bit like Peter Griffin in human form.
