They were never more than a pr-tool for the publishers. Back in the days before the internet they made some sense, cause even though they were pr-tools, they were still the only source for impressions, informations, videos, demos... Nowadays they are imho completely obsolete.

The Facebook page is rubbish, it's completely dominated by photos of Jon Murphy hosting some PES World Championship event with who I presume is a Spanish model in Madrid.

I presume they delete any questions, because one guy posted one recently, asking about the game modes being removed, but was also complaining that his questions are always ignored. He hasn't had a reply yet. I swear Konami must be paying the rest to post, or just getting their own staff to post messages or something, because it's just dominated by comments saying stuff like 'PES rules!' etc.

Agreed, the wording of most reviews is so non-commital that it gives pretty much zero insight. I guarentee at least half the PES reviews will conclude that it's 'made massive leaps, but is it better then the competition? Time will tell....', basically vaguely positive with no definitive opinion.

The consensus on forums, by and large, after a couple weeks of release is enough to tell you whether a game is worth getting or not.

Swear these PR guys fancy themselves as international superstars. Both Rutter and Murphy love their smug poses, dark shades, leering against a soul-less model. Basically Partridges of the gaming world.

Just been on Shopto site - in pre-orders FIFA is top and PES is only 8th!

Always going to be the case unfortunately. PES is almost a lost cause in the UK. So many people are ingrained by FIFA and it's Sky Sports style presentation. It's like an official Premier League game almost.

Even with the great gameplay this year, so many people refuse to even try PES.

Thats just so damn confusing. MAybe they renamed the premium edition to just the Champions League steelbook + DLC balls?

I have pre-ordered the Champions League steelbook + DLC balls from Blockbuster as it was the only place in the UK doing it and it didnt say anywhere about premium edition. I'm curious now to what would of been in it.

I've asked him twice -"Hi. There are rumours that the League mode has been removed from PES2012, can you confirm/explain?" - the second time just minutes after he'd tweeted (thus, a good chance he'd read it)- with no reply.

I've asked about the league mode on the facbook page of PES2013. Tried it 3 times, very polite. All those questions were deleted within a couple of minutes...

I stopped because i didn't want to spam...those facebook pages are nothing more than clumsy PR. Konami needed litle effort to bond with it's customers. It could have been something great but they fucked up. Such a shame.

I think you will find that on here the majority of FIFA fans who are buying FIFA have tried PES they just prefer FIFA

I read it in a Wikipedia page last week, but it seems I shouldn't have trusted that piece of information.
It said that Konami didn't license the league itself, but all the German clubs.

Licensing is one thing, but I hope the German League is there at least with fictitious names (like the Enflish League) so it could be modded with an OF.

Also, I am not up to speed with the new features that were brought in PES 2012 (as I hated that game and barely played it), but it seems there is a manager career mode? Was it the type where we played matches like on ML, or just set up your team and watch?

I wasn't talking about people on here. People who frequent football game forums will be more switched on.

The casual mainstream however....

I don't have the figures but id be surprised if the demo downloads are within 10%. I would of thought of anyone who likes football would have tried PES and then tried FIFA.

My guessing is both fans will be loyal to the brand this year as both have improved. PES is better but IMO it certainly isn't good enough to pull away many FIFA fans. Saying that I haven't played both retail versions so maybe I'm guilty of choosing too quickly. In any case FIFA for me this year

This was the reply that I got from pro evolution soccer facebook site a while ago when I asked them about a dlc for League modes. . . " PES 2013 will have a league mode, which is included in the Master League Mode. That means, that you can play the regular Master League Mode or a League Mode (e.g you choose Real Madrid and will play against all Spanish teams)." I think that rules out a dlc for league modes.

Are the following in pes 2013?

1. European and world elite teams?
2. The ability to choose 4 teams and the other randomly selects a squad out of those 4 teams to play exhibition games.?
3. Classic Brazil etc?
4. Can I choose to have eased less cut scenes in the game instead of having ingredients to press start all the time and watch the logo flash up on screen .?

That means I can't choose more then one team and can't play a league mode with a friend.

Can you ask them why they delete the option to play a season with more then one team?

I can ask them but they took over 2 hours to answer the first question. If they bother to answer I will let u know

They've just said that . . . . .. .

"The league mode is like the typical master league mode but you choose a team (e.g Madrid) and play just against Spanish teams"

In other words no league mode just Master league with default players or real team players
