That's not how I interpret that.

Picking a team in ML doesn't usually, by default, give you access to that teams league.

This, above, says to me that the usual League mode is incorporated within ML

If I'm right then at least it half explains the glaring omission as Konami probably thought "Oh, so people use the League Mode because they want the full league structure? OK, let's incorporate that into the ML AND they'll get the benefits of the ML* too".

*Note - having a youth player demand the no 10 shirt only to then complain about it two weeks later is one of the reasons I actually avoid ML so I use the term "benefit" in the loosest term.

I'm cautiously optimistic based on this latest snippet of "information".

EDIT - We just need Yair or someone else with the full game to give us some clarification on this now.

8,5 is the rate for all the reviews I´ve seen in MERISTATION 3DJUEGOS and IGN. FIFA 13 is expected to have 9 or even more (9,5 or so) But if you read the reviews, the most important thing which is gameplay, they both have the same rate for sure.
8,5 is due to the engine and some other aspects such as licencies that will be fix with the help of some modders but gameplay will be equal.

I admire your optimism I really hope you are right. They are the words they used when they replied to me. Can one of the guys with the retail game confirm it for us?

Fully agree, the presentation in FIFA is top notch,but that's about it if you ask me. The feeling it gives to fans as if they are part of these special moments makes it worth it to part with their money.

But FIFA represents something different from what football is about presentation, it´s like NBAK13 or something similar. They will never have the atmosphere of champions league, what ii actually real football enviroment.

for those of us that judge the game from the moment the whistle that starts the match blows, all of this isn't that important.
It would be a bonus if PES had it because it could add to the feel of realism but i wouldn't just want what FIFA offers at the moment.

After 6 long years, is that white smoke we can see coming out of the PESican? :)

Following the news as it comes in, it strikes me that this is almost a hark back to the PS2 days, when media reviews of PES were almost entirely favourable.

I might as well get this in now: MAGIC BOOTS WILL BE FINE. Stop it!

So what's the difference between the two modes then? You can already play as Real Madrid and only play spanish teams in standard ML. Are they saying its a type of ML where you can't get relegated to Div 2 with all the fake teams?

The confusion is astounding.

I saw one of the ML help screens that explains that you can buy a player and also the boots he's wearing. Perhaps you can then remove his boots and re-distribute them to someone else etc. not remotely realistic but an interesting tactical side to the whole issue. I'm kind of intrigued now.

By the way, after half a season in ML only one player has come to see me to say he is happy with the way the team is playing, also no stupid chairman requests so far, ie play a young player, avoid bookings etc.

It seems as though Konami's main directive above all is to steer you to ML and the corporate tie-in boot ads.

Nike, Adidas, etc: 'How can you guarantee that our ads will be prominently viewed ingame if players can just choose Community or League mode to avoid them?'

Konami: 'We'll just take out every mode except ML'

Nike, Adidas, etc: 'Where do we sign?!'

After prolonged play of both games today for the first time since I've been able to, I can safely say that PES will be definite purchase this year. I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that it's about as awesome a footy game as can be. The depth is utterly amazing. Just my two bobs worth.

Oh, now i get it ! League mode will be just Master League ! That why there is not ML default players, and no D2 (Well if you are so bad to finish last on the table , you will be in D2).Its all original players, will be like league mode but you can make transfers ... it make sense ... Old league mode was like dejavu every season ! You can make 20000 seasons but, with same players, same clubs, is like dead close cycle. Maybe ML will have more options and settings befor you start to play.

EXACTLY mate, thanks for your commnent, that´s what I wanted to say (and you helpt me :))I´m sure we both (and more people) think that FIFA is a great game, but we dont´t like what it offers.
By the way, FIFA 13 demo is enjoyable but, only the demo, not for a whole season, it gets you bored when you have played 30 matches because it all feels the same no matter what team you choose, you end playing the same way.

I think you might have nailed it, that does make sense! But why did they tell me regular master league mode and league mode, what's the difference? Surely somebody with the game could confirm this.

And what about choosing more then one team? if a friend wants to play a season with you?

Well , wait 21 and will see ! That why i say that must have some setting and option before you start the league .Or you must try to play community mode,community league , if is still there .

Played more of the demo and I think the keepers still suck.
No point in saying they are better than last year as a zombie would be better than last year.
Some of the keeper animations are horrific. Real shame as the rest of the game plays so well.

If this mode isn't in then KONAMI should correct this by a patch or download, they can't ignore this. it's the only thing i have been reading regarding pes. I am still intersted in online features. the game is already out here in the Netherlands. some shops sell the game if you ask for it.
 
Hold on, I'm still confused about the league situation. Does this mean custom leagues are no longer possible e.g. I can't make a league full of national teams nor do a four team mini league if I have some mates over?

If that's the case it's still unacceptable to me.

that would suck monkey balls it's the only mode i play offline and it's the main reason i buy pes is to play with friends and have a league

The fact that some people dont even know what league mode is might have influence Konami. I think Konami has fallen into the trap of analytics where they checked the most played game modes and add or remove features based on play rate.

League mode is what fifa had before career mode. its a round robin league with no international, continental or cup matches. No player development or trades and it ends at the end of the season.
It can be played as Club or National teams
