PES 2012 Football Life thread

Has anyone with BLES1406 actually found a good working OF which doesnt contain the Championship?
Im happy to have (finally) started up a ML which im not moaning about.. but i would like to be able to play in other Country instead of England as i have done for the last.... 6 pes'

Which game speed, passing ass. settings or patch are you using? How many goals did scored/concede your last season when you won the league? How do you attack against overpowered AI intercepting balls and pushing you off like crazy? What is your main weapon of scoring? Do you use R2 a lot, super cancel, a lot of crosses? Anything? I am not really a complete dummy since I was able to make it through the hard times in D2 always on professional, but how do you do it??:) Thanks.

Ok, I'm glad to help. Passing assistance is 1, sometimes 2. Semi-assisted cursor change, patch 1.02 with no option file, so no gameplay file for me.

Formation is a 4-2-3-1, two DMF's, two wingers, one AMF and a striker. Sliders:

Player support - 13 for away games, 16 for home games against lesser teams, 13 for big matches
Support Range - 10
Pressing - 10
Defensive line - 10 for teams playing quick counter, 12 for long ball
Width - 13

I scored around 60-70 goals, conceded between 30 and 40, cant remember now. Cant say I had a recipe for scoring goals but my tip is do everything you can in order to maximise your chances. If you have someone with a good long rang shot, take your chances. Make a few crosses for your tall forward or try through balls for your quick forwards. Unleash everything you can and it will pay off eventually.

Try playing according to your squad strenghts and attack a lot from the wings (overlapping your fullbacks works wonders). Counter-attacking is less effective, but it still works and you can create quite a few opportunities with it. As for dribbling, yes, try R2 and assign some useful tricks to L1 + direction (just one for each direction).

If you're playing with a tall forward, press O only once. With someone quicker and smaller, low crosses are your best friends. Clever dribbling also helps, be creative instead of being a one-trick pony and most importantly, play with the mentality that you're going to win. How and when it's up to you, but the more afraid to concede goals and lose you are, worse the results.

Just an update on my situation - 1st placed on Ligue 1 with 72 points. Lyon are 2nd placed on 71 and I missed a golden opportunity to go the distance. Drew my derby match with Olympique Marseille, 1-1, they lost their match against Dijon but I couldnt capitalize. Facing Barcelona on CL quarter-finals, god help OGC Nice.

Well 6 league fixtures in with my local team Bristol City and i find myself lying 6th in the table with 10 points in the form of 3 wins 1 draw and 2 losses which saw me score 9 and concede 7 in the process
Seems a leaky defence could cost me this year as a cheap mistake by James cost me all three points at. NottinghamForest as he parried a last minute shot out to a waiting forest midfielder who finished simply..
At Blackpool Bogdanovic took advantage of some sloppy defensive errors to bag a hattrick and send us back home with a 3-0 defeat..
Nicky Maynard leads the league in Goals however with 4 in 5 (having missed a game through bad form) and looks to be a huge hit this year.. his first the opener against reading in a 3-0 win was a screamer where he beat 2 players before placing the ball in ff the back post.. not a powered finish just a caressed finish.. lovely job..
My signings: Palmieri, Shimizu, Camacho and Strasser (208k
First three have been average so far while Strasser always has a purple form arrow and even when he did get a shot at playing got booked and wasted most chances on the ball.. useless CMF.. much ratherkeep playing Camacho alongside the industerialist Marvin Elliot
Anyways, seeing as how im holding this down now i will keep posting my updates (prbably using my phone whenever i finish playing for a day

I've played 4 league games in D2. I lost the first two, won the third (2-0) and lost the fourth, heavily, despite taking a 1-0 lead. Annoyingly i lost te second game to a penalty. It was otherwise heading for a 0-0 draw and a well earned point.

Ettori is definitely my main man. I try to make most things go via him. I'm still deciding on the most effective formation, given my weaknesses and er, strengths?

I hate how in recent PES, the keeper is so badly positioned at FKs (just outside the box). It like he's saying i'll stand here. please shoot over there. Yes i know you can take control of the keeper, but i often forget the button to do this. Getting a player to run back on the line doesn't work all that often either.

Yesterday i started a Spanish league. First match was Atletico Madrid (me) against Betis.
I had a flying start: 20 goals by Falcao. Totally dominated Betis, but after 45 minutes they were leading 2-3: two corners and a FK. I scored two goals in the second half, but Courtois made two big mistakes and still lost the match...

I don't care loosing matches, but not that way..IRL this happens but it's a one off...here it happens all the time.

PS: completely off-topic: what an horrible Lukaku played yesterday...Chelsea should loan him out next season...at the moment he is simply not good enough.

Yep, totally agree. Far too much. And this is, genuinely, the first time I've ever felt this type of shit in PES, ever. Hopefully this new 1.03 patch will sort out this issue, and many others.

In saying that, I still cant stop playing the bloody thing. Offline is actually consuming all of my PES time, I'm barely getting online to play friendlies within PEEL. Which is crazy.

Edit- I watched the Juve v Napoli game last night, what a game that was. Pandev's second goal was stunning. Crazy decision to bring him off when he's on fire and chasing his hat-trick. Utterly bizarre.

Glad to say I won the Ligue 1 once again as OGC Nice. It wasnt easy tho. Lyon just wouldnt drop a point and at some point, we were trailing them by 5 points on 3rd. The tide started to turn when they had to face tougher opposition. A run of three consecutive wins put me level on points with them, but I drew with Marseille when they lost another one. I had 72, they had 71 points.

Then came Barcelona. I've gotta confess I worked my socks off in order to make a contest out of it, and a contest it was, but they prevailed. A Messi goal at Camp Nou put me at a strong disadvantage, but I managed to equalise. Couldnt keep them at bay tho, and 2nd half goals from Cristiano Ronaldo (yeah you heard me) and Messi meant I lost the 1st game 3-1.

Needed a 2-0 result in order to make it through and I got the first one at Stade du Ray. A bad pass mean they got a breakaway and Ronaldo bagged their first. Momentum comes in and the team cant string two passes, they steal the ball and Ronaldo grabs the second. So it was 5-2 on aggregate, but I felt hard done.

Sandwiched between was a game against Dijon, which I lost 3-2. It was looking grim because Lyon capitalized once again on my defeat and moved two points away. Six games left, and Lyon at home being the next one. The team really turned up for the match tho and I won 3-1. I also won all the remaining games up to round 37 and we've done it, 87 points against 83 with one game to go.

I've got the finals of the French Cup to play against Johachnaard in a bid for a second double, and then it's time to bring in some new blood. I'm in need of two world class wingers and a quality defensive mid, preferably tall. Here we go again, I love that part of the season lol.

Congrats with a good progress in ML. How do you deal with fatigue? I found this is one of the main issues with my team. If there is a fixture , a cup game then CL/EL + some silly international in the middle which drains them worse then any reg. game my players suck badly. There is also barely enough players to replace from the squad unless I want to play some undeveloped youngsters. I have top athletic trainer and do conditioning training at times, but still not enough. How do you manage fatigue?

Well, I've got all top coaches (the 5 million ones) and lots of squad depth. If you lack in that department, which is quite normal if you're starting with a club, you'll have to play your youngsters.

There are some good ones tho, I had some squad depth even on my first season at D2 (signed two players), thanks to some good picking from the youth team, aka Palmieri, Schmidt, Shimizu, Camacho and Ribeiro.

I cannot urge you enough to sign the latter. As long as you manage a few corners or free-kicks near the area, he's a sure-fire way to scoring from headers. 1.97m tall, 90 for header accuracy. Position him inside the 6 yard box facing the near post with the right analog stick, pick a good corner kick taker and cross the ball. Make sure you're using R1 plus square for heading (keep R1 pressed as you're pressing square).

For freekicks repeat the process, but instead position him facing the goal inside the 12 yard box, as near to the goal as possible (make sure you dont leave him offside). He's taller than most defenders on D2. Top scorer for me in my both seasons on the second division plus a decent choice for the last 15 minutes when you're losing.

With a bad keeper you're going to have problems anyway, but it's R3 + L1. Position him in the middle of goal and you should concede at least 40% less.

are you using Ribeiro in D1? what is his rating now for you and how many did he score? I sold him long ago because his is good with headers but bad at everything else. I have BenBasat and Inzaghi now. My superstar header scorer in D2 was Fletcher.

Phew! I ground out a 1-0 win last night, my second win in six games (i think) and my first clean sheet.

Irjescu, who i'm really warming to, slammed in from outside the box. One reason i like him, is that he has a hard shot, rather like his predecessor, Iouga, so coming from that DMF/deep CMF position, he can pounce on those loose balls outside the oppostion's box.

Irjescu was probably my best player when i had a stint with the Defaults..

But i did notice that the Great God Ruskin has fallen in Overall :(

I started a try-out ML (inspired by Prof Nutmeg) with Trabzonspor. So far only played one game that i won, but in this game i just don't seem able to keep the nil...my opponents score almost every single match...

He's bad at everything else alright but he bagged 20 goals per season on D2 for me. Around 10 in D1. He was topscorer for me in the French Cup last season aswell. I ended up releasing him because he was subpar for my current demands. My chairman wants the Champions League title and he's surplus to requirements.

By the way, I've got BenBasat now. Decent replacement for Otam, my main player for now. He's 93 OVR and just 18 lol.

Gah! My ML data has been corrupted :( think i switched the console off while it was saving last night.. i was rather tired.. looks like another re-start tonight :/

Something i'm finding a lot better/more realistic and perhaps this is the only plus so far in ML, are injuries. I'm seven or so weeks in and i've had many players pick up knocks and injuries. In fact, i like the calendar "news", with regards to injuries, popping up as you go past the days. It's more immediate. My eyes almost popped out when i saw a red cross appear with Ettori's name (my star player). I'm going 10 weeks without him.

The chance of being sacked for poor results is by far the best addition to ML for me. How this was never part of ML before is just crazy.

That's a nightmare by the way Taylor. :(

Being fired at all is a great addition! (And could set the way for being able to change clubs next year, who knows?)

Read up on thePES discussions thread and it seems so many people are picking at ML to just criticize instead of actually taking it up and ognoring the really trivial problems they are finding because end of the day.. you can skip the "annoying cutscenes" by pressing one button!
And i for ne arent bothered by them tbh.. think its a great addition.. just implemented in a bad way..
Same with the training group is a great idea.. though.. i think maybe could have been more specific groupings ie give defenders one type of training.. midfielders another.. stuff lik e that

Anyways as for getting started again i havent got chance.. i picked up. A copy of NFS: Most wanted yesterday for 2 quid.. and i had forgotten just how good it was.. so playing that atm.. then PES will be back :)

Yeah, i guess that's good too, as long as it not Roman Abramovich style. Yet to experience it of course.

Looking at my graph, the fans seem to like me, despite only two wins. The chairman dipped but came back up with my latest win.

Teams usually train together. might be some specific group training but never seen players train on their own. So I'm not sure why people think it necessary to allocate individual training regimes in ML.

That's rather ironic though. People would spend time allocating focus points to 23 players week by week but they can't sit through a 10 second clip (or skip it with a button as you said). Give me strength lol.

I've just realised. How do i make money in ML? Sponsors, match wins etc..? I don't recall choosing any sponsors at the beginning of the season and i can't see any money being generated after any wins or anything. I've only just started in D2, will i get this option at some point, like half way through the season, or at the end? All i saw was the players salary being paid near the beginning of the season and i can't afford to play that again without any income.

All money related things are found under finances or something like that.. sponsors will have been listed during pre-season.. and you earn money for home "gates" and id presume winning leagues and cups! Hope this helps/makes snese! :L :)

This should be the case, yes, but i have no sponsors and have received no money for home gates. Under 'expected earnings' i only have the team salary, which was subtracted at the start of the season. I'm a bit worried by this.

Umm.. well i just checked it out on my latest ML and my finances are showing up exactly the same as yours.. im a little worried as to how this works now..Jimmy, Leandro, Zlac, Calcio.. anyone! Help!

I've worked out why. I had club management switched off when i began the ML (i don't have a finances menu). I don't think it can be turned on afterwards. I wonder what will happen come the end of the season.

What is gonna happen is the chairman will give you some money but it wont be enough to cover your costs. Restart ...

Hmm, that's what i was thinking. Meh, i was slowly getting into this one. What's the point of this option if it doesn't work?

EDIT:
Any idea how much he might give me? I have £973,000 left over from my original budget (which was around £3M) and player wages are around £2M. I wonder if i can stick it out, perhaps sell some players and feel like David Moyes. Although it would be annoying to play to the end of the season and get peanuts from the chairman. However, if you go bankrupt, it's not game over, according to the help screens, you just get a transfer embargo (can't buy players), but hopefully you can still sell players.

I haven't played with this option on but I imagine it does work. It just leaves all financial control up to your chairman which is a situation a lot of real managers find. I think the yearly budget will vary depending on the stature of your club. This is what I understand from reading various stuff on the net, but do you mind sticking it out and reporting back on it later? I'd really like to know a little more about this option.
