PES 2012 Football Life thread

This charman has something agaisnt me at peterborough.. fired again for losing 10 and drawing 7 and winning just 1 of the 18games i got through..

Really starting to dislike ML cant get a grip on training.. keep getting fired.. and dont want to start with a premiership team so i can have money.. and i dont want to check out all the Championship teams to see which will give a balance of money and still a challenge so frustrating..

At least there is an element of realism there, one win in 18 would probably get you the bullet in real-life. I love the fact you now have to perform to save your bacon. Much more interesting.

Definitely a good sign on realism.. my frustration is a happy disappointment.. thinking of starting up with one of the three relegated clubs from lastyear

Made some quality signings to improve my Nice squad, now French Cup and Ligue 1 champions and into group phase at Champions League. Got Belhanda on a free, brought Ben Basat from Brest for a really cheap price and Neven Subotic (called Srbonic in the game), great defender rated at 84 OVR and just 24.

Most of my players are improving quite well. Even El Moubarki is rated 71, but he was nearing his 30's so he got the boot. Schmidt and Licka (a DMF I signed in my first season) were released aswell. Camacho is rated 78 now, Palmieri 73, Shimizu 85 and Fatecha around 75.

So far, four wins from four games, 4-0 at Rennes, 1-0 at Auxerre, 1-0 against Evian and 2-0 at Ajaccio. Next game is my debut at Champions League against Leverkusen, at home. Things are looking on the up.

What console do you play on? Or are you on a PC?

I might start a French ML too. I was thinking that the teams in France were more even. There are no real superstar teams who will run away with the title, giving the player a better chance to win something.
In my Italian ML I found that a few teams were too strong, which I find gives unrealistic scores. Milan just scored 122 goals in a 38 game season.

Do you see a more realistic total of goals scored in France? I think it will be the case after playing about 10 BAL games but maybe you can confirm what things look like after a whole season in ML.

And congrats on winning 2 cups. Sure you said you play on top player too, thats a great achievement. Will be interesting to see how you find the champions league, will there be a noticable difference in quality between the teams in the CL and the teams you normally face in France I wonder.

I got fired for not meeting my mission and also bankrupting the club in abid to make them better.. starting again later today
Though from my first year i have to ask whats with the decrease in team strength every time.. i had to to stick with conditioning because otherwise players just went down.. even new players like Shimizu went down..
Think im ready to start up with MLDefaults!

Though i did have a thought of taking up the full youth team in the first season, and playing with them (release the other squad) could be interesting

I wrote some training tips couple of pages back
http://forums.evo-web.co.uk/showpost.php?p=2371444&postcount=247

Just to add to that post, I really, really do not have any problems with players' accumulated fatigue in ML. Using ML defaults + youth players. I guess, using condition training after every match pays off. And players are developing just fine - Shimizu, Palmieri, Camacho, Duffy and other 'hot prospects' are developing as expected.

Ah thanks man, ive been fired twice now and the one thing i havent learned (well obvious things) is training, what team and league are you anyway?
Im gunna take a 3rd shot at it later Peterborough with ML defaults.. and this time i will keep in the job! :L

So unlike most people I'm really enjoying PES 2012, both on PC with patches and on PS3 against my brother. I must admit I've always been a PES fan and I hammered every single iteration since ISS 64 except for PES 2008 and 2009, during which time I just played a modded WE9LE. I wasn't feeling it this year at first but after a while it just clicked and I can't stop playing now. Removing passing assistance really opens the game up and is in my opinion the perfect mix between stat-driven gameplay and freedom/control.

Now that I'm comfortable with the game and got all the patches I want I started a Master League campaign with Everton on Superstar difficulty, and I plan on making a video series to keep track of my progress. Episode 1 is up:

YouTube - PES 2012 - Everton Road to Glory - Matchday 1 QPR v Everton

I must say I'm a bit underwhelmed by the game mode so far. I started out with 110 million pounds which is crazy money for Everton, so I've had to restrict myself to keep things realistic. Only signing so far is a Brazilian chap called Toscano who's a player in the Arteta-mould and who hopefully can take the Spaniard's place as the main playmaker of the team. He has high technical stats and the Talisman player card so I've high hopes.

could u please tell me how u got that exact camera angle as it is really good.

also could u please tell me how u got extra stadim such as loftus road.

i dowload and installed jenkey stadium server but how do i add additional stadiums to his mod ???

thanks you.

Well, Marseille score over 100 in 38 games aswell, but I like the Ligue 1 because no team is a deadweight (except newly promoted teams, but even them give you game). Even though Marseille got a nice team, they're beatable and dropped lots of points.

It's a fun league IMHO, there are quite a few teams that can give you headaches for the title challenge and you should expect to find some tough games. I suggest you pick a team that has a main rival - St. Etienne for example (Lyon being their rivals), Nice (Olympique Marseille) and so it goes. I've created all stadia too and the immersion is really great.

I'll keep you guys informed about CL on FL, top player AI, when I get home. I'm at work now lol.

I tried again.. and i cant play the game.. before today it was a case of getting there in terms. Of playing.. but ive gone backwards! Im now bottom after two games.. (two very questionable games) conceding 2 in both games my issues being: cheap goals from long balls.. where my. Two centre backs start chasing and then stand and watch!
And then at the other end if they werent fouling me, my players were passing the ball off in the wrong direction than my aim.. andon the occasions i did manage to get a shot away.. aiming is impossible it just goes over or straight downthe middle.. the only goal i did manage was a mis-placed pass into the corner... im literaly stumped on how to play and improve.. and until i can i have to put ML to one side!

Best advice I can give is try it on professional (like I did) first and see how it goes. Once you can put teams away at will you can move up. Try being cheap at times too - once you're winnig a match, keep possession, stuff like that.

Keep an eye on their formation once they sub someone in - they might be playing 3 upfront and you're just getting outnumbered while defending. I play a 4-2-3-1 formation, the 2 being DMF's. It's quite balanced and helped me get some better results too.

Clean game, edited PES United, EPL, professional.

Finally, finally, finally, everything has started to click into place.... :)

After my PS3's Bluray packed up last week, I couldnt be bothered messing around, so I bought a new PS3. I then needed to re-install a PES Option File, and due to the fact the GTM Pro World File had all the Championship emblems and stadiums already assigned, I opted for that one this time around. I also fancied trying an OF without the stats edited.

After starting a new ML with Middlesbrough, Professional, 15 minute games and Zero Assistance, 1.02, something finally clicked. The Middlesbrough squad are pretty poor stat-wise, in fact, Shimizu, is already my best player. I also signed Utaka and a left winger from Montpellier named Dernis. I won the opening day encounter 2-1 against Hull, then drew with Reading 2-2 in a thriller. I went 5 games unbeaten before losing to West Ham at Upton Park 2-0. After 10 games into the season, I was W4 D3 L3, and sitting 9th in the table.

I then beat Leeds 3-0 in my best performance yet, two goals from Emnes, and one from Utaka. All goals were brilliantly crafted, fantastic passes and sublime finishes. Utaka's first was a lovely half volleyed R2 clipped shot over the advancing keeper, after a superb pass from Shimizu. The second highlights exactly what I love about Zero Assistance Passing, and that is the total freedom. Arca Nutmegs the Leeds defender with a clever pass into space, then Emnes smashes one into the bottom corner. Emnes then show's his quick-thinking, cheek and arrogance, with a beautiful first-time L1 lob shot, after another cracking manual high-pass over the top from Zemmama. Arca's Free-Kick simply could not have been hit any better either, but the keeper wasnt getting beat from there. Great effort though. ;)

YouTube - Boro 3-0 Dirty Leeds

Boro then smashed Hull 4-2, and with confidence sky-high, beat Wigan at the DW Stadium 2-1 in the F.A. Cup First Round. It was also the first time I'd heard my own chants this season. I cheekily added a couple of Boro's chants to Wigans playlist. ;) :)

What really impressed me, was a goal that I scored, which was allowed even though there was a player a mile offside. The player wasnt interfering with play when the ball was played forward, and I was stunned it never got flagged. Very, very impressed with that. I thought I'd saved the goal, but after looking, I didnt. :(

I've also found that by not using an Edited Stats OF, that the CPU is now having very similiar possession to me. Instead of the usual 60-40, it's now always around 54-46 mark. In some cases, I've had 49-51 in the CPU's favour. :CONFUSE:

Absolutely loving this offline ML, and I've never had to think so tactically about PES in my life. Even with it's niggles, it's so far ahead of any PES I've played before.

Currently 2nd after 19 games. My record is impressive: 14 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses. Even so, I'm trailing Lyon by one point. My Champions League campaign went quite alright up to now: 5 wins, one loss, 1st in a group with Ajax, Olympiacos and Leverkusen. OGC Nice and Ajax went through. I'm still waiting for the draw now.

I'm facing Rennes at the French Cup quarterfinals aswell. So far, so good in all fronts, but it looks like luck is not on my side. All three draws were undeserved one sided affairs which I dominated but couldnt score. One of my losses, against leaders Lyon, was a one-sided massacre but that freaking momentum thing screwed me up when I conceded from a free-kick, but shit happens.

Here's hoping for a new double. All I can say is playing on Top Player is not easy by any means, even with a superstar team like mine. Most of my starting players have an OVR ability of 80+, but I still struggle to win some games.

Same OF as me Jimmy though seems its playing better for you.. im going to try playing on the same settings as you.. casuse when i use it in ML most of the teams look straight for the Long Ball option and its frustrating, though the teams which do play properly relly can play and it becomes.. possibly the best game of football in the world! (Okay maybe not that good, but you get my point)

I am impressed by your results. I am playing ML on professional with the default team. I was promoted and in my 5th season I took 6th place. I was happy with this good result. I have pretty much the same strength team as yours. Now in my 6th season in D1 it is a disaster! I am losing a lot and hanging in the middle of the table. It is extremely hard to break out AI defenses if I am playing against equal to my team. With the current state of things I do not see myself winning the league ever so I would be happy if you could give some advices.

Which game speed, passing ass. settings or patch are you using? How many goals did scored/concede your last season when you won the league? How do you attack against overpowered AI intercepting balls and pushing you off like crazy? What is your main weapon of scoring? Do you use R2 a lot, super cancel, a lot of crosses? Anything? I am not really a complete dummy since I was able to make it through the hard times in D2 always on professional, but how do you do it??:) Thanks.

Re: Master League

Are you able to start in Div 1 in ML? I couldn't seem to find the option. By default, you begin in Div 2, which is fine, but i was wondering if there is the option.

I chose Bolton and was automatically placed in the EPL. I chose Middlesbrough next and was again, automatically placed, but this time in Div 2. Another seemingly silly error by Konami, removing that option. :CONFUSE:

Hi jimmy, in a couple of weeks i will have a PS3 and will download gerdgoal's option file and maybe the gameplay file from chimps.
I was also thinking to start a ML with Boro, because of Faris Haroun. Is he any good (IRL and in the game)?

Hi Gerd,

I've not really caught much of him in real-life, from what I can gather though he seems like a decent player. He isnt great in PES 12 stat-wise, but he has done a job for me when called upon, and the Chairman seem's to like him. :)

I use this Option File now ....

http://www.freewebs.com/gtmproworld/

I have found this a more complete file as it has all the Emblems and Championship Stadia assigned. Also, the Boro players stats are more realistic in my opinion. I'm also not a great fan of edited stats if I'm honest, and I personal prefer this file as it has no edited stats. I found the increase of the Team-Work stat across the board was making the CPU a little more God-like than I'd like. Each to their own though.

Make sure you get yourself a Chants pack for the PS3 as well, it changes the whole atmosphere of the game. Sadly though, Konami have decided this year that Division 2 teams draw the type attendence figures more akin to your local Pub team. And therefore, no chants appear in Div 2 matches. That will all change though once promotion is gained.

Thanks jimmy, i will try that option file. Just went looking at that site...it seems they have a Liga Adelante option file too...that one is rather tempting too.

Anyway, i have another question for you jimmy. Right at the moment i'm playing a BAL campaign. While this is a very enjoyable campaign overall, some strange things happen. I'm playing as an AM with Bologna and i'm doing reasonably well. I regularly score goals and give even more assists. It seems however that the game does "forget" some assists. I had a fantastic game where i scored a goal and gave 3 assists (very special for me). Bologna's manager said acknowledged that i scored a goal ("repaid my faith by scoring a goal), changed his game to defensive after Bologna were 4-0 up ("did nothing noteworthy") and at the end of the match i got a miserable 6,5/10 and another AMF who alos scored a goal become more in favour than i...
Is this a bug? Or am i doing something wrong? I've been trying to get a transfer, but i'm snubbed by every team that i want to play for...i'm not good enough (Bologna are leaders in Serie A and i'm top assister...).

It's sounds like another Bug to be honest Gerd. I've not yet delved into BAL this year, so I'm not really that up to speed with it. It certainly doesnt sound like your error though.

On a different note, you may want to check this PS3 Pad out. Since switching from the D-Pad from PES 12, I could never get along with the PS3 Analogue Sticks and their position on the PS3 Official Pad. So I purchased one of these, and find it very good indeed. I love it. Coming from Xbox, you may want to give it a try. :)

Thanks Jimmy, but i have played PES for years with a PS controller and am perfectly used to it...but thanks anyway. Have a nice day.

6.5 is actually a good rating in PES. most players usually get a 6 or 5.5. You'll see 7 sometimes and a 7.5 very rarely. I don't think I've seen an 8 on this version of the game yet. Something Konami haven't changed for ages.
Also the game may have the weird logic that, yes you did get three assists, but if you weren't following the manager instructions about what part of the field to play in and who to get the ball to, it will mark you down.
I think the team you can go to depends on the quality of your agent. If you have a bad one, you'll obviously get less offers. If you already have a good one then maybe its a bug.

Thanks ollywolly. I have indeed the original agent which is a very poor one...
My son is also playing a BAL (although on a lower difficulty) and he regularly has 7,5...but he plays as a CF and scores goals galore...
