PES 2012 Football Life thread

Just got the game YAY YAY!
However using the patch you linked me Jimmy.. all the Championship teams have the npower logo as there emblems and there isnt enough Championship teams to have an individual 2nd Division, 2nd bit isnt too much of an issue.. but the emblems are.. is it how its meant to be?
 
Hi folks, I have a couple questions I hope you guys can answer. I'm playing BAL mode (is it still called that?).

1) In past games, your teamwork stat would start low but improve basically every game to simulate getting to know your teammates. Mine is stuck at 64 and isn't increasing. Is this normal or is something not working correctly?

2) I'm the highest ranked striker according to my manager but I'm not starting any games yet. Will I get some chances soon?
 
Loving BAL right now. I'm playing as AMF at Heracles and it feels great how every attacking opportunity have to pass by your foot. I'm leading Eredivise in Assists (11) and scored 4 goals so far in the game.

I wish i had the Passer card but don't how can i get it. It's possible?

They have just made it more specific this year, it's Pinpoint Pass now.
 
Pinpoint pass was in last years and isn't the same. There isn't a card that replicates the Passer one unfortunately.
 
So, there is some way of getting any card in BAL?

This year BAL is the complete opposite of pes2011 version. The AI is smart now, they know how to dribble, pass and play in tight spaces. Also the active ai helps a lot.

Your positioning is vital and rewarding. Being a AMF, you need to be aware of your teammates runs and watch for a space to pass in the same time.

Great play by Forlan (CPU) reading my run to his left and the shot was nice as well.
 
Started a master league with spurs(real squad lineup) last night, superstar, 0 pass assist - 2 speed.

Fuck me have I had to battle, brought in kim bo kyung and maxi lopez. First game was a 3-0 defeat away to newcastle, started poorly and never recovered. I lost the next match to wolves away, despite battling hard I gave away a soft three kick in the last minute and you know what happened next. A draw with stoke followed although I was lucky to escape with even a point in this game.

Things are starting to look up, two away victories saw maxi lopez score his first goal for the club and my team is starting to look like well, a team. Played an in form aston villa last night and managed to fight back and earn a 2-2 draw, maxi lopez netting again with a stunning header(he looks the real deal).

My form is starting to pick up but I dont wanna get complacent, ready for a real battle this season. COME ON SPURS HAHA.
 
Been playing all day on Exibithion trying to learn to defend after a failed attmept at FL with United.. i play on the 2nd hardest level (choice because i find Top Plyer to be a little scabby, just an opinion!) Any tips on general defending?

And also for starting FL im stuck on a fence between my prefered set up of taking an Npower Championship team.. Peterborough this year..
Or because im struggling enough as it is.. taking a prem team (Newcastle, love how they're playing this year). And going from there.. decisions!

Some general defending tips...

- Don't rush in, block the passing lanes and force the AI to be creative. Use super cancel to position your defenders and make sure to keep your shape. Positioning is everything(fuck i sound like alan hansen)

- Avoid hospital balls in midfield, sounds obvious I know but the AI is lethal at taking advantage of this

- You can perform a standing tackle with RT, tapping RT when timed correctly will see your player attempt to win the ball in many ways. Standing tackle is harder this year and timing is everything

- to defend crosses, a good technique is to use secondary press and use right stick to control a player in the area where you think the cross will go.

- Use super cancel to push players off the ball, using your players physical strength to knock an opponent off balance is effective.
 
Recorded back to back wins with Catania for the first time ever. Slowly rising up the table now (15th).

Maxi Lopez, Park (the arsenal one) and Zoran Tosic stepping up lately. Tosic is ace.

Problem is, he's scored in each of the last 4 games, but his form arrow has changed to purple (downwards). Sums up how random Master League is this year.

Anyway, the game is starting to click now. Scored and conceded some absolute quality goals yesterday. Some of them just looked amazing.
 
So unlike most people I'm really enjoying PES 2012, both on PC with patches and on PS3 against my brother. I must admit I've always been a PES fan and I hammered every single iteration since ISS 64 except for PES 2008 and 2009, during which time I just played a modded WE9LE. I wasn't feeling it this year at first but after a while it just clicked and I can't stop playing now. Removing passing assistance really opens the game up and is in my opinion the perfect mix between stat-driven gameplay and freedom/control.

Now that I'm comfortable with the game and got all the patches I want I started a Master League campaign with Everton on Superstar difficulty, and I plan on making a video series to keep track of my progress. Episode 1 is up:

I must say I'm a bit underwhelmed by the game mode so far. I started out with 110 million pounds which is crazy money for Everton, so I've had to restrict myself to keep things realistic. Only signing so far is a Brazilian chap called Toscano who's a player in the Arteta-mould and who hopefully can take the Spaniard's place as the main playmaker of the team. He has high technical stats and the Talisman player card so I've high hopes.
 
Finally getting started in FL as Peterborough United using a different ppatch than the one suggested (felt to many clubs had lost players when i imported teams) shame, really liked the look of the patch as a whole so im using GTM proworld patch (something like that instead.. used it last year quality work..) because it already had the championship teams in there..

My settings for ML are:
Squad Players
Peterborough United
Npower Championship promotion to Premier league
Professional
10minutes
Manager: Me (wanted Eric Cantona, but couldnt be bothered to edit it)
 
So 5 games into the season and ive won 2 drawn 1 and lost 2 on the bounce..
Lambert (signed for 200k) has been sensational firing 3 in 3 before the two defeats where he hit the post in both games!
Other signings: Shimizu and Palmieri (both youth)
Tunnicliffe and Zakuani of the origanal line up have been sensational! And when Boyd and Alcock want to do it they can really play!
McCann has been a captain marvel etching out chances when needed and provididng a real shield in front of the back 4

Awesome stuff mate. Looks beautfiul visually. I'm an Everton fan so I will keep watching your video's haha. Can you re-create the camera angle from the Tottenham v Aston Villa game. I love that view.

Lukas, what camera do you play in? I've been using the behind the player camera. I find it's good most of the time but it's hard to see who's behind me (which is realistic) and who's in the box when I want to cross (not as realistic).
 
I'm playing BAL. I created a AMF-CMF and had to start with Bologna in Serie A. I had hoped for France, but Bologna is a team that suits me well. After 16 matches Bologna are first in Serie A and i'm a regular starter.
Although i enjoy it a lot, some weird things are happening. It seems that the stats at the end of the match (and thus the points you get) are not correct. An example: in the match against Genoa, Bologna won 4-0. I scored a goal and provided two assists. In the stats at the end of the match, the assists weren't mentioned. My manager said i did nothng noteworthy and got 6/10. I seriously wonder how this is possible. It seems that the CPU forget about assists if you score a goal..i've had this several times...
It just seems that Bologna's coach doesn't like me, no matter how good i play, i never play more than 50 minutes...i've been trying to go to another team, but this team snubs me because i'm not good enough... but i'm scoring regularly and provide plenty assists (which are not mentioned when i score a goal).
What is wrong?

Cheers mate, yeah I was thinking I could perhaps use some kind of broadcast camera to further increase the visuals. Personally I prefer the usual White Hart Lane camera angle as the lower one on Monday night gave me a headache lol. I think the regular wide cam looks a lot like WHL's normal angle but I'll have a look when I get home later today.
 
LOL - but I like to feel as if I'm in the stadium! haha. I just started a ML with Everton - lost first 2 games and was told I had to win or else I'd get the sack. Got away with a 1-0 victory but am still under watch by the board. My big off season purchase of Ashley Young has done sweet F.A.
 
I got fired for not meeting my mission and also bankrupting the club in abid to make them better.. starting again later today
Though from my first year i have to ask whats with the decrease in team strength every time.. i had to to stick with conditioning because otherwise players just went down.. even new players like Shimizu went down..
Think im ready to start up with MLDefaults!

Though i did have a thought of taking up the full youth team in the first season, and playing with them (release the other squad) could be interesting

No he does not! Though he confuses me, at one stage he said "dont get booked this game is a showcase" something like that.. i got a single yellow for a slightly misstimed challenge.. and his reaction was "what do you think you're doing?! That match was a disgrace those acts of thuggerry were disgraceful" something like that.. crazy.. also, i w uld like more option s when talking to players.. its annoying not being to tell a shitplayer who says he's better that he is not good..
 
Finally managed a title on top player. In the matter of fact, it was a double. Won the French Cup beating Sochaux in the final, 1-0, and the Ligue 1 on 83 points. Marseille, my biggest rivals, ended on 82.

I was around 9 points away with four games to go, but a dismal run of one win, a draw and 3-0 loss to 17th place Montpellier saw me getting to the last match against Bordeaux away needing a point to clinch the whole thing.

The 3-0 loss was really astonishing - conceded three really cheesy goals and despite getting ten shots or so ON target their keeper did his best to spoil the party. Anyway, played it safe against Bordeaux, ended with around 90% possession and the nil-nil draw was enough. Yeah, not the best away to win a title but I dont give a damn lmao, we're champions babey. :APPLAUD:

Got nearly 50 million in the bank account now, without money from sponsors and marketing. Might get up to 65 million and I'm going to fire all the players wasting space.

You can tell a player he is not good enough. Just go to Communication in My Team.

Think thats only in the transfer listed players options, but when you dont pick a player for a match and he asks why and says he cant see how he is inferior.. you cant turn around and say "well you are inferior, so shut up"

Really sucks..

Though had a thought on the chaiman possibility that he is based on Roman Abrahimovic?
 
Some advice please guys.

I'm a few games into my ML as Everton. I notice when the Calendar progresses on screen it says you can press a button to Zoom or a button to Stop. Once stopped though, it kind of pauses and then continues on.

I thought you would be able to go back to the main menu and do stuff during the week. Is it because I pressed Next instead of forwarding to a specific date?

The main reason I ask is that I wanted to maybe do conditioning training early in the week for recovery, then strategy training the day before a game.
 
If you want to change training schedules everyday, choose skip to specific date. You can then move game time forward day by day.

Sometimes straight after a game the calender decides to move forward by itself (stupid, lazy Konami design) In that case press stop, though it may take 2 or 3 days to actually stop (stupid, lazy Konami design). Never noticed the zoom button
