Gennaro Gattuso will stay with Milan after the club told Manchester United that he was not for sale.
The Premiership giants were linked with a swoop recently and the player’s agent has confirmed that they made an enquiry.
"If I have to be honest, Manchester United did make contact a few days ago but it all ended pretty quickly," Claudio Pasqualin told La Citta' del Goal on SpqRadio.
"Milan don’t even want to consider the sale of the midfielder. He is untransferable for the club."
Gattuso has developed into a key figure at the San Siro and the outfit do think very highly of him.
"(Milan chief) Adriano Galliani sees him as the future captain of the side when Paolo Maldini finally retires," added Pasqualin.
The former Rangers player has been watched by some time by Manchester United, who are looking for Roy Keane’s heir.
Meanwhile, Pasqualin also warned Lazio to make a move for Cesare Natali or miss out on the Atalanta stopper.
"I’ve heard of their interest but there is nothing official," he added. "However, I have to say that Genoa like him too."
