Only other thing I can think is SAF plans on making Rooney into another midfielder, and use Ruud and Owen in front of him. This would of course mean replacing someone else...and with the addition Park it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense.
Or maybe he's changing tactics to be more direct, less crossing from the wings. In which case I guess Owen creates things with his speed that Ruud woudln't.

Still I'd take Ruud over Owen anyday.

Park and Ronaldo can switch wings... while Rooney and Keano/Scholesy can switch as well. this means, however, that ronaldo won't be behind the striker as he had wished

Rooney has been playing on the wing nearly all last season so Owen and Ruud would play together.

I doubt that cuz he really doesnt need an extension since his current contract keeps him here for a while anyway.

Wasn't this the same way Barca lost Figo to Real Madrid?

I think its all rumours. Ronaldo himself said that he's not even in talks with Man Utd cuz his current contract is far from over.

C'mon. A few years ago, we actually had a lot of financial power. We dont really have the anymore. I hope Park doesnt cost any more than £5million.

And theres rumours that Fulham want Saha back on loan. Anyone think its a good idea? It might be good if we get Owen.

get saha away... but when he goes back to Fulham, i'm sure he will do a forlan and score loads of goals for them... its always like that...

But that would be good for his confidence cuz he needs some match practice after his injuries.
When we first signed him, he scored quite a few goals for us cuz he was doing the same at Fulham.

The rummours are Owen + cash for Ronaldo in the Spanish press! but on to the Ronaldo contract thing surley Ronaldo would want to sign the contract just for the extra £££ if hes intent on staying!

Sir Alex will never let go of Rooney, Ronaldo or Fletcher cuz he said in an interview that seeing those players grow up and develop is the main reason why he's still in management otherwise he would have retired seeing how he has achieved everything he can with his current club.

SAF seems pretty convinced Ronaldo is staying. All this week he's been saying how he's building a team around Rooney and him, with fletch etc... in support. But maybe that's just optimism speaking

But he's been saying that since the start of last season so its nothing to do with being optimistic.
I dont think a few rumours or speculation will change someones motivation to carry on as a manager no matter who you are, let alone someone like Sir Alex who made a career out of building great teams out of youngsters.

I agree with Knh4. Theres not much chance of him moving. If you look at it from his point of view, moving to Man Utd is almost a step back in his career. What do we offer that Milan dont?

But if by any chance we do get him, IMO we wont need a replacement for Keane. Gattuso is the perfect player for us.

How important is Gattuso to the team from a Milan supporters point of view? Do you think Milan struggle without him, Milanista?

We can struggle without him, hes the aggressive one in midfield who helps even out the technical players who play there. Hes also there to cover Cafu when he goes up. Hes already said many times hes going to stay at Milan until he retires, and hes officially the new Milan captain after Maldini. Hes even got his own cult and youth groups in Milan. Hes a symbol.

I don't think he can replace Keane. The only thing he seems to share with him is his agressivness, but Gattuso is WAY to aggressive, some of the things that he gets away with in the serie A is surprising.
I think he's a good player, but not the right one. I also think that everyone's just a little too impressed with him since his great performance against United.

I seen the player play for a while now and always thought he was great. He'd definately be good for us.
If you look at the rest of our team, who else can we play in midfield if Keano wanst playing? Unless we had someone like Vieira or Gerrard or someone, which by the way is never gonna happen, Gattuso is the best buy for us.

Getting Gravesen would have been a master stroke on Fergies part. Just dont see why we didnt follow up the interest in him.

Good DM these das are hard to find. Most of the good ones are already at great teams!
Isn't there good DM's in EPL? Not considering Arsenal, LPool and Chelsea! I still think Pedro Mendes would do a good job at ManUtd, but then again he plays better at CMF!
