hmm good player and much wanted imo..by many clubs..

as i said, the players who are linked with us might be small number of all the targets we are looking for to buy..

I would welcome a cocky character at the club, we lack one. Suarez has the potential to be one but he seems quite professional and wanting to win (see the end of the 5-0 Fulham win when he was kicking off at the ref for a decision), which is obviously better.

Just think we should splash some cash on a fancy player.

Marveaux deal collapsed because he'd agreed £40k per week with us, then suddenly asked for £60k per week. We told him to get stuffed, and rightly so. Cheeky bastard.

Reports today also saying Clichy prefers to move to Liverpool than Roma, would be a very good signing if it happens.

Yeah I think Clichy would be a really good signing aswell. And on FIFA he costs about 22mil so for 5mil it's a bargain!

Yep want Clichy, great attacking full back. We'll sort him out defensively and teach him how not to dally on the ball and try and play your way out of trouble EVERY time :P

I don't see the point, unless Johnson at LB wasn't working? I do think your buying too much "midtable". Henderson, Adam and Downing is IMO not good enough to better 7th or 8th.

To go back to it again, people had a go at Dalglish before for now buying superstars. He turned them into a great team who complemented each other and went on to win titles. I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing.

Otherwise, is Young mid table too? I didn't see any other European heavyweights after him?

Just buying Galacticos isn't always the right way, just ask Madrid fans.

That is nonsense my friend. Henderson is one of the most promising prospects.
And Liverpool have been linked with some pretty good players (Zapata for instance).

Take a look in the Arsenal thread where the Arsenal fans envy Liverpool fans. And names not always mean anything. Take for instance Man Utd title winning team last season: it seemed as if this was a squad with quite a lot of mid table players? Yet they won the title...

Partly agree with Younggun, although one young player is hardly too much....and two relegation strugglers and a midtable goalie doesn't sound very good either. Guess who they are and where they will be playing next season?

But the signings will need to be balanced with maybe one or two very technical foreign players imo. (Mata please!). However the club really needs some solid depth and you get that with good "midtable" players. Same thing happend with Riera, was never spectacular, but really added great balance to the team. Downing could be similar.

Half of them seem to be going to Sunderland... ;)

what´s the point of arguing about the state of our signings in middle of transfer window..?

The most important thing we spended a plain ZERO so far..

For Torres, Babel and Cole out we get Suarez, Carroll and Henderson in..

Henderson cost only 16 milions not 20, + if Ngog moves to Sunderland, we get 5 milion for him apparently..

We are after other very good targets like mentioned, Zapata is maybe one, so might be also Downing.. But i remember Comolli said before the window in interview that there might be 12 or 14 moves in and out the club this season..so we are building new squad.. People are on vacations just now... i expect many things to happend in july before the pre season.

and the point about mid table players is ridicilous i think.. some teams buy players from different leagues who never played in PL.. how would you call them? If anyone, than Dalglish is known for picking players from smaller teams and build a challenging team...it´s about the team and future this time, not just rush spending

with Henderson and Carroll, i´m pretty sure... they are both very young and already quality and proven in this league.

i explained why i think we payed 10 milion more for Carroll he is worth..and this i don´t want to explain anymore..

it´s boring now.

Wow, if this is true it would be, in my opinion, as bad as Benitez's idea of swapping Xabi Alonso for Barry. Why would you get rid of Meireles ? I thought he looked like a very good player and had been one of your best over last season ?

King Kenny seems to be obessed with buying British players, when they simply arent good enough to ensure a top 4 finish.

Suarez was lined up before Kenny came in, to be fair. I imagine Kenny still had the final say but he wasn't Kenny's target to begin with.

From everything I've read, we're moving on the English players first and will get the foreign players signed up once the European window opens on 1st July.

It's crazy that people want to make judgements on a transfer policy when we're less than a month into the transfer period and there's still more than two months left.

It's not Football Manager, things don't happen overnight all of the time.

i don´t care how nationality our players are.. to be honest..

all i know is i trust the manager we have 100% and i know what he and his assistent did after we get rid of previous manager..with not even his team full of injured players...

if we continue in this spirit and with backing of our owners.. we will be ok.

this is what i belive, and you can think it´s bad or naive..i don´t care, couse i support and belive.

Sell the 28 year old who's currently at a high value and will only decrease, replace him with a younger midfielder in Henderson.

Cracking post, Pipa. Kenny has proved enough times that he deserves our respect and patience. He's done it as a player AND a manager. He knows how all of this works, he knows what makes a winning team, he knows the kind of players he wants at the club.

To complement him, we've got owners who seem to be mostly making the right moves and supporting Dalglish and Comolli, as well as Comolli helping to identify talent to bring in.

Liverpool fans who are still doubting Kenny need to do a reality check and look at his past records.

I might put this as my signature, I seem to have to keep repeating the same things every day in here anyway :D

people are always looking at our club, even our own supporters from the perspective of other clubs, what other are doing, what players other are buying, what managers are other for, what players other clubs would never buy etc etc...this is all BULLSHIT.

start to look for once from our perspective, don´t compare not comparable, don´t think someone who never even kicked the ball in our shirt (Henderson) will not make it and this and that..

all that matters are the 11 men on field winning...if our manager can build a winning team capable to die for the shirt, not being lazy or not taking our club as a club that helps him move higher..then this is most important! If he needs his own team and he want´s to build his own squad, let him do it.. he´s wiser than any of todays managers who everyone considers gods, just becouse they have luck of backing and have luck to buy any player they want... their succes don´t mean that other managers are worse..in fact many do amazing job with cheaper players.. this was the case of Rafa who was killed off by british media for buying mostly non-english players.. now the situation is oposite and everyone does the same..

Not everything is amortization. There are some things called trophies and arguably you have more chance of winning one of those with Meireles in the team than with free kick Adam.

Liverbird, what makes you think that? you are throwing Adam in a box without being objective.. now i don´t say he´s amazing player and better than Meireles..but you never know untill he will himself walk in Meireles shoes..

what if he score more goals and creates more chances and will be more usefull for the team than Raul?

now i´m not for Meireles move out.. but you never know if Adam is not better than him, untill he playes for us.

look at united, they sign Young..many thing he´s not the player who they would miss or who will improve them but they have manager who can get the best out of him..

the same we have now, of course Kenny did´t achieved the succes Ferguson did, but he´s also a man who can pick a talent and make him work for the team.. i would let him do his job whoever he buys..or sels, if it´s good for the team..

becouse seriously we only have made one transfer this window so far...but people panic already...

United and Spurs were/are interested in Adam too, stop acting like Adam is some awful player eh? Bloody he'll, talk about extremes. I've never seen anyone love a player as much as Aquilani, and then hate a player like Adam. Probably because Adam is stopping your beloved Aqua from playing?

Stop being so close-minded for a change?

I think it is pretty obvious that Aquilani is a better player than Adam.
If he is a better player for the premier league that remains unproven.
If he is a better player for Liverpool is far from sure.
I've already compared Adam with Sidwell and Bullard who were very good with Hull and Wigan but seemed to miss something to make it a big club. Adam has impressed with Blackpool, but maybe he can make it at a bigger club. I surely found him an attractive player last season. And he is more than a free kick specialist, he has fantastic passing abilities and awareness.

Im getting a bit tired of your free interpretation and the fact that you put words in my mind that I didnt say. I think I I havent brought back the Aquilani topic for a long time. This is a Meireles vs Adam discussion but somehow you manage to also make it about Aquilani.
